Excellent product with lots of features
What do you like best about the product?
Converting and exporting translations is a breeze.
What do you dislike about the product?
No batch editing without Advanced account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm running a translation workflow for a startup.
Decent localization management tool
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to understand the user interface. You can get into the business in less then an hour and be productive immediately after you register. It is pretty straightforward to add new language and manage your software project.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the business model. We have a free app which started as a hobby project and it does not generate much revenue. There is no free plan for relatively small project or free projects. Besides that it is decent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have 8 supported languages with around 650 keys. It was a nightmare to manage it without a tool like this. It is way much easier to manage the keys, and track them during the development of a new feature.
Great product
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use. Love by devs, easy to integrate with current flows.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to integrate, hard to get the content team to work on braches
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hard to integrate, hard to get the content team to work on braches. fast to work with
I stopped worrying about string files
What do you like best about the product?
As a developer, The "over the air" feature and Github integration are big-time savers. Especially if you did a mistake right after an update - which may take days for some platforms - Phrase's iOS SDK swizzles localization methods and updates to new strings seamlessly
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't say that there is a feature missing, I can only complain that there are too many features and I get lost from time to time
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing localizable files, inviting translators and reviewers are very easy. Machine translation also helps us to bootstrap and ordering human translators over the platform is very easy. We also manage multiple apps, translation memory comes very handy
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Read the docs first, I usually find myself solving the problem via reading the docs before I get an answer from the support team
Great tool to support the translation process
What do you like best about the product?
Access to the preview of the context of translated phrases and translations in other languages. Remote access in the cloud and view of the history of editing expressions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Little functional transition between projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rapid adaptation of the tool to enter many markets. Simplification of translation processes.
Useful!
What do you like best about the product?
Phrase is really intuitive and easy to implement and use. It completely changed our translation process
What do you dislike about the product?
You are paying per user when you can have many users that access eventually to Phrase.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automating and centralizing our apps translation
Great localisation tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of use. It makes our life much easier with the product development. Developers just adding keys, and then we have the possibility to dowload the localised resources just in 1 second. With our app, which is localised in more than 10 languages it is really challenging to handle all the keys, but Phrase does really help.
What do you dislike about the product?
I miss the mobile ready view when dealing with keys. For the rest of the platform more or less it has responsive design which makes the use of the app from mobile much easier. However if you try to deal with keys it is much harder, as it is not really optimised for it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are handling our app localisation with Phrase. It is easy to use, and most importantly really convinient. We don't have to deal with huge excel sheets anymore, just handle the keys in one place.
A perfect solution for collaborative work
What do you like best about the product?
Memsource is a perfect solution for collaborative work in small and large groups. It is also a great tool for teaching CAT technology, both as part of undergraduate and graduate-level courses. This platform doesn’t have a steep learning curve, the interface is very intuitive. The updated comment feature is what I have been waiting for, it makes collaboration in class very productive. The cloud is reliable, during years of the active use I have never experienced any issues with the projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I dislike about Memsource. If I were to name the features that could be even more user-friendly, I would say that TM (or a reference corpus) concordance search feature could be a great addition to the current configuration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For two years, Memsource has continued to be a go-to solution for Translation Technology and Translation Practice (ENG-RUS) courses that I teach. Thanks to learning materials on the Memsource website, novice translators quickly get a grasp of the mechanics of the technology aided translation process.
Memsource is a simple and user-friendly CAT software
What do you like best about the product?
Memsource has a shallow learning curve, and it is easy to navigate menu icons as well. From the translator's side, the web app is stable; crashes, lags, and delays are rare. From the client's side, Memsource's project management features are also innovative and centered around user-friendliness.
What do you dislike about the product?
Memsource has a minor issue where the web app cannot process the target language fonts properly. In many oriental language fonts, several different characters combine to form a single letter or word; the font processor cannot distinguish between a character and a letter. So, when you press the "backspace" key to correct your last typo, it deletes the whole letter or word, making the editing process tedious.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Memsource to translate many projects and tasks I come across. I use it to document my own glossary and translation memory. This way, I can keep my translations more streamlined and consistent. I also scan PDF files and translate them using Memsource.
A very useful platform for multidisciplinary teams
What do you like best about the product?
With the branch system, many squads can work simultaneously without problems. The main branch is always by protection. This way, we are more efficient while ensuring that the already defined and final copies will not be changed by error.
What do you dislike about the product?
After applying changes from a branch to the main branch, there is no easy and intuitive way to find the applied changes in the activity history.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before, with our previous localization platform, we didn't have the "branch" system. Translators were not allowed to change the main branch and depended on developers to edit an alternative branch as well.
Now, while developers work on the one hand, translators and copywriters are empowered to edit and translate the secondary branches in parallel.
