Memsource is the best and most user friendly CAT tool among the 3-4 I use regularly
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Memsource is online but also offers a desktop editor which makes larger jobs easier. The best part is assigning jobs to freelance translators, I find it amazingly helpful as a translation project manager, and also translators need to license or anything, just click and start translating focusing on quality. Also, some other CAT tools do not offer multiple languages in TMs, while Memsource does, and it looks much tidier.
What do you dislike about the product?
In larger projects, the online editor can get a bit slower but the desktop editor works quite well in these cases so it's not a problem without a solution. Other than that when uploading some rarer file types you may need to go in file type settings and manually choose some things there so the text appears better or with fewer tags in the actual translation environment - it may take a bit of learning for a new PM but in few cases, I struggled the Memsource help team quickly showed me the right settings and the file uploaded looked clean and ready to translate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I prefer to handle multilingual requests or excel enquiries with several languages with Memsource so it is solving the output formatting issues for us from the beginning which is great. I realised as a benefit that integrations are easier to set up than some other CAT tools so we already did set up some quote requests or project automation without much outside IT expert involvement.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For LSPs and the companies with translation managers or departments, I would recommend Memsource over other CAT tools because of the ease of use and clean interface and smoother process when managing/assigning projects.
Great CAT tool
What do you like best about the product?
Memsource's translation memory is excellent, especially if you have to translate long documents with very few changes. And term base helps you remain consistent when translating over longer periods of time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Memsource machine translation tool is also excellent but unfortunately, you run out of characters quite quickly if you translate often. Buying more is not an option for me (and quite frankly, I think it is rather cheeky that we have to!)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Curriculums that continuously need updating with very few changes - easier to manage than using track changes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try to get Memsource machine translation engine with unlimited characters
It's a very easy to use and intuitive localization tool.
What do you like best about the product?
Very structured and clean interface. Easy to use and very straightforward.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smart suggest could be a little bit stronger. I've never used it as a translator as I've found it not quite accurate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Translating website copies into several languages has never been more structured and organized. Manage multiple translation tasks at the same time can be really challenging. Phrase is solving this quite well and intuitively.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a good tool to manage multiple translations for a digital product/project. It's very easy to keep track of the translation progresses, leave feedback/comments, and communicate with other team members.
Easy to get started
What do you like best about the product?
What I like most is that it's pretty easy to get started with Memsource. The UI is intuitive, and it doesn't require a long learning curve to learn to use it. If you don't have lots of knowledge of CAT tools, it's easy to learn Memsource. If you already use some other CAT tools, it won't take long for you to get used to this new tool.
I also like the help center and its documentation which is up to date. You can find solutions on your own if you prefer to explore first.

What do you dislike about the product?
I think the functions around terminology are too simple. For example, the filter is not sophisticated enough. I can't narrow the filter to a range as specific as "at 10am on 2nd September". Also, it doesn't allow deleting entries in bulk through the UI directly, rather than importing a sheet with |delete as suffix.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I do translation and terminology management with Memsource.
It well helps me reuse previous translation and leverage the existing glossary.

Great solution for teaching computer-assisted translation
What do you like best about the product?
Cross-platform access – cloud & offline.
What do you dislike about the product?
Too few settings in batch user creation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Memsource is amazing for teaching computer-assisted translation – basics of terminology management, post-editing, project management, translation with TM & TB, as well as more advanced features. It's the most accessible platform to manage course materials/projects and monitor student class exercises. Accessing and troubleshooting problems is instantaneous for the teacher with admin settings. It's quick and effortless to fix and explain specific issues when all class projects are visible to the teacher/admin. This makes the platform useful for remote teaching when progress monitoring and remote feedback/help is essential to go smoothly. Also, the browser-based interface does not require students to install a desktop application – they are almost always beginners, so the simpler the environment is, the better the exercises go at this stage. The offline desktop app is a great solution, but primarily relying on the browser app allows everyone in class to jump right into the exercises without troubleshooting installation and device/OS issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As a teacher of computer-assisted translation, I would recommend Memsource to other teachers looking for an environment with easy access to all class translation projects. The way the system is designed will save you a lot of stress and effort when helping out your students with assignments and specific questions they might have.
A great CAT Tool for most languages
What do you like best about the product?
I am really happy with Memsource, and it feels like a tremendous improvement over other CAT Tools used in the past.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing that I would love to see getting better is the QA functionality as well as the number of formats supported (Illustrator .ai files for example).
One thing that bugs me is the consistency checks - it lets you know how certain segments are different but have the same source content but you still need to scroll around and locate the segments manually.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
More languages are compatible and the interface is mostly user-friendly
A Great and easy TMS/CAT tool been used
What do you like best about the product?
A powerful platform, you may find everything you need in the dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
The language list is a bit complex w/o language code reference, not easy to exchange with third party TMs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Memsource brings more connector usage than Lionbridge currently has, which can extend our business with customers interested in these connector solutions.
Great tool for professionals
What do you like best about the product?
with Memsource, you work faster and deliver earlier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, when files are big, it freezes and glitches
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Memsource guarantees consistency in your work
Recommendations to others considering the product:
choose Memsource because it makes your work easier and faster
Great tool for internationalization, translations, handling freelancers for localization of content
What do you like best about the product?
Great documentation regarding all technical details.
Great tools like branches. Using GTranslate quicker is a game changer.
All the integrations are really useful as well.
When using branches, we automatically create the branches technically and then the marketing team starts working on the content, the translations so it's ready whenever we have the technical implementation ready.

What do you dislike about the product?
The treatment of keys, one of the biggest pain points our team has encountered is that one key cannot have more than one line.
Not being able to have images, videos etc. Not being able to have bullet points. Not having bold, italic or underline to handle the text.
Not being able to have images, videos etc. Not being able to have bullet points. Not having bold, italic or underline to handle the text.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having multiple languages on one websites, right now we are using it for Spanish, English, Brazilian, Portuguese, Dutch etc.
Easier tracking of changes done, easier projects handled to freelancers.
Marketing works on the content while Product works on the technical implementation without a lot of time wasted on copy paste. We don't have to use GSheets anymore, we can reuse multiple keys without having problems, we can duplicate, translate easily some small content like words.
Easier tracking of all the translations and having clear documentation for the keys that we have.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Read the documentation, they have great documentation and great processes. There's a lot of information online about how to use it.
Love it!
What do you like best about the product?
Just a handy CAT tool. I tried a few other CAT tools and this one is the best. It has all standard CAT features: termbases, translation memories, integration with machine translation providers, automatic data exchange, and more. What makes it perfect is its nice UI, very good technical support, and nice pricing (1-month free trial, then the cheapest subscription plan is just $27 per month). It covers all my software localization needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing that I really dislike. I'd like them to implement better morphology for terminology checks but it's just a minor thing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Localization of software and its help into several languages.
I also use it for checking the quality of translations made by third parties. I upload bilingual files and apply the QA tools.
