Access from any Internet-connected device allows you to work from anywhere. The simplicity of operation allows you to start quickly.
Incredible tool for organization and integration
What do you like best about the product?
Phrase is incredibly versatile, using your own translation team and mixing ordered translations is wonderful. Several projects of ours have different setups with either live updates, over the air updates for iOS and android, or just a repository for devs to implement. Wonderful platform!
What do you dislike about the product?
Since one of the last updates you don't immediately select all keys when you have a lot, only ? 25 / 75 ? at a time, but you just have to click select more a few times, all good otherwise :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sending out tasks to several translators has been made so much easier

There are some minor glitches in connection and QA.

Memsource is an excellent tool for online work, where you can instantly see the progress of your projects. It is easy to manage workflow and keep an eye on each job.

What do you dislike about the product?
There is a limitation of the number of users that can be assigned the role of project manager.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am teaching students at the Department of Language, Literature, History, and Arts of the University of Pitesti the main functions of professional CAT tools. Memsource Academic edition is beneficial; Students get familiar with the main concepts of CAT technology, such as translation memory, termbase, translation project, and practise all these functions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Memsource Academic Edition is an excellent tool for teaching CAT technology to students enrolled in translation programs.

Intuitive CAT pane features. Customisation of translation projects options. In-context preview. A tool that is easy to learn for users.
What do you dislike about the product?
For some languages, the Quality Assurance feature provides unnecessary warnings. The QA should be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It’s a tool that is user-friendly also for those translators without prior experience with CAT tools. It also allows us more flexibility. With Memsource you can work online, offline, and on your mobile phone, which is great for users who don’t have access to computer devices or a reliable internet connection.

Missing simple functionalities like if a segment is locked, it won't be saved into the translation memory.
The online editor works a bit slower when working on large projects.
When uploading some rarer file types you may need to go in file type settings and manually choose some things there, it takes considerable time, but the Memsource technical support team is always available to give a hand.

Mainly we have optimized production processes. We have also improved the quality of our products and worked on avoiding inconsistencies.

Great platform to work on
What do you like best about the product?
It is very useful as we can find everything we need to handle a project from scratch to delivery on the platform (price for the client, Translation memories, exchanges with the translators)
What do you dislike about the product?
It seems like sometimes it is not very intuitive, sometimes I take a while to navigate within the platform and find what I need as I am a beginner
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As sometimes we have to handle several projects at the same time it can be very beneficial as I save a lot of time (translation memories saved automatically) + the client has access to the platform diretcly so we don't have to exchange unecessary emails.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It will make you save a lot of time, money and it facilitates interactions with the client (they are independant and autonomous)
Best cloud-based CAT tool
What do you like best about the product?
Both being cloud based and also having a desktop editor to cater both needs. And it's so easy to use compared to other CAT tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when translator runs QA and ignores all the issues, they cannot complete the job even if there is no issue remaining in the QA. This causes a back and forth conversation between the PM and the translator.

Importing multilingual excel files is very easy.
If you're in a multilingual project, you can see the translations of the other languages in the same window and it is helpful for consistency.
Memsource allows the translators to have free Memsource users via the company's license so they don't have to pay for anything, which is helpful for us PMs when placing jobs.
