Powerful API Functionalities
What do you like best about the product?
Being able of utilizing API to connect with our company's internal platforms enables a streamlined workflow that is highly customizable. Memsource is the most flexible and customizable CAT tool online, that I have seen.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not enough linguists(user) accounts. We have hundreds of users using it at the same time. This is going to be a problem for companies of medium to large size. This should be an easy fix.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Implementing 1-hour turnaround requests. This is hardly achievable on other platforms.
An amazing CAT tool with enough subsidiaries in order to create a well-edited translation
What do you like best about the product?
Memsource offers us the bilingual documents and the ability to preview translation. In this way, users easily create translation memories and do not have to re-edit the format of the documents.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tags of the source texts could be transferred into the target ones in a more suitable way. Furthermore, institution that I'm included in as a student provides free membership to us. However, if I were a paid-up member of Memsource in the course of being a student, I couldn't make the payment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm able to prepare my translation memories easily and use them in the next works when I work on the same kinds of translations. Furthermore, Memsource allows us to experience collaborative translation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Many translators contribute to a project simultaneously thanks to Memsource. It is worth experiencing.

What do you like best about the product?
Most importantly, Memsource is reliable and easy to use. In several years of using the product, I've almost never run into technical difficulties. It has a much lower learning curve than Trados, while still offering everything a freelancer or small LSP would need. It also makes it easy to collaborate with others. Best of all, the Desktop editor is responsive, quick to work with, and has relatively few bugs.
What do you dislike about the product?
My biggest issue on a daily basis is the spell cheker. In English, at least, it often flags words that are not misspelled, flags part of a word, or misses obvious misspellings entirely. When I right-click, the word I'm looking for always seems to be right at the bottom of the list of suggestions. Other than that, integration with outside MT engines could work better (especially re: tags), as could compatibility wity Trados.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've used Memsource for most of my direct client orders for several years now. Above all I appreciate that it makes the translation management process easy, with none of the fuss of Trados or memoQ.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are a freelancer or small LSP, Memsource is the best option (in my opinion). It makes the process just about as easy as it could be. The only issue is that many larger LSPs have their own systems or require that you use Trados or MemoQ.

It is not very clear on how to maintain TMs

Sharing TMs and glossaries in the cloud with the team without having to spend lots of money has been great for our small company and our productivity
The Friendliest of CATs
What do you like best about the product?
Memsource and its user-friendly interface helped me understand there was no need for me to be afraid of computer-assisted translation and set me on a new path in my career. I am now one of the two certified Memsource trainers in my home country, looking to help other people understand how to use Memsource better and make their lives and work a lot easier. And not only that! Becoming a certified Memsource user and trainer encouraged me to learn new CAT tools, and platforms, and generally be more open to learning tech.

What do you dislike about the product?
I think we need better quality MT output for Western Balkans languages, Serbian in particular because it often gets mixed up with Bosnian if it's Latin, but that's more down to MT engines, not Memsource Translate itself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Faster turnaround time with TMs and MT, and great Quality Assurance features, help us work quicker and deliver consistent quality translations, which is an added value to my clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start building your client-specific Term Bases as soon as possible. Helps with the QA and saves you time.

explore all its features and use them in what suits best your company needs - it can boost productivity quite a lot

What do you like best about the product?
Search tools make it easy to find similar copy across the site and tag related keys for easy access if changes are needed at a later date. I haven't used any competitor translation tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
No feedback is displayed from Github when export is complete, so I have to check Github, wait, check GitHub, etc. Branches take a long time to initialize and merge. The in context preview tool requires additional setup and effectively doesn't work for my company's setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing translations for 16+ languages. Phrase allows the developers to implement 1 version of the code while allowing for more custom translations to better localize our platform.

What do you like best about the product?
Memsource is very easy to learn and user-friendly. It is a powerful yet simple tool that allows you to manage all the steps in a translation project.
What do you dislike about the product?
I miss some help bubbles when hovering over elements on-screen.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm using Memsource to teach translation at undergraduate level. Memsource gives my students a clear picture of all the components and actors in a real translation project. Unlike similar programs, Memsource keeps things simple so that students can focus on practicing translation, instead of deciphering menus and processes. The feedback I have got from my students up to now is very positive.
Excellent CAT tool for freelancers and companies alike
What do you like best about the product?
The platform's neat design, the simplicity of use, and the possibility of working offline and online and using other vendors' tools, like MT. I mainly use the termbases, translation memories, and the translation tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
It seems that in the new version of Memsource I can't extend the deadline of projects. Before, whenever I got warnings that I project would be deleted in "X" time, I had the chance to put it off, but now I can't.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have increased my daily output and can get faster turnaround times. I have also been able to achieve consistency in translations and to create personalized termbases for different projects. A plus is the possibility of using external MT apps, like DeepL and Microsoft.
