Localization made easy!
What do you like best about the product?
Phrase has taken all of the pain out of our localization initiatives. The ability to manage strings and order translations (coupled with a robust translation history) in one place helped us iterate quickly and build better, more accessible products.
What do you dislike about the product?
Now that our products are in more mature lifecycles, we don't change or add new strings that often, so paying to keep our subscription alive is a bit annoying just to hold onto our history.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Once upon a time, we developed our own processes for managing strings and had accounts with several translation companies to order translations across all our different locales. Phrase has allowed us to move all those tasks into one convenient tool.
Easy to use translation tool with a clear layout
What do you like best about the product?
Memsource is a very effective tool for translation. Its layout is clear and simple, making it easy to stay focused. Works perfectly on a Mac, unlike most of the other translation tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Q&A step is a process that takes too much time with larger projects. To make it more efficient, I would want to add new words to the QA spellchecker so that the same term wouldn't trigger a warining several times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Memsource is a cloud-based translation management system that allows you to work on different devices. Great for anyone who wants to be available where ever they are.

Nothing so far. Maybe handling terminology would be a great feature if added

* I removed the chore of translations with Excel.
* I have an overview of the progress of the translations.

Memsource is a great tool helping a lot with removing translation chores. The user interface is very intuitive. A lot of options are available for each file format. It's the best tool I know for this subject.
Excellent tool to create and manage translaton projects.
What do you like best about the product?
It's user friendly. The ability to import different files for different languages within a single project. The possibility to import Excel files as multi-language files. The overall versatility is excellent!
What do you dislike about the product?
Certain file types are difficult to import, or require a lot of know-how to setup the filters correctly. Such as files where only a certain part of the text needs to be translated, it would be useful to be able to put the text in a certain color and import only that color.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sometimes when uploading large files, the connection crashes, and the page gives me an error.

It is a valid tool for translation project management.
Phrase makes internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n) a breeze!

Want a product that is quick and easy to use and gets the job done, and Phrase absolutely accomplishes that

Nothing until now, everything is working smoothly and nice.

Memsource can really help you to get a hold of your translation projects. Especially when they are more urgent.
Working with Phrase as a freelance translator
What do you like best about the product?
Phrase is easy to learn and to use for translators. I have been working with Phrase for about 6 years now. The interface is user-friendly and clearly arranged. I also absolved the certification program and learned of the endless possibilities the TMS offers in project management and automation. Really awesome. I normally don't use this features as a freelance translator, but they helped me to understand industry processes and more.
Working with tags is also very easy with Memsource, it's great for localization jobs.

What do you dislike about the product?
The translation suggestions are not flexible. As with almost every translation tool, you get a TM or MT suggestion that is "fixed" and does not chance while translating. There are already tools on the market where the suggestions change while translating. The AI adapts the suggestion constantly to the changes you work in a sentence (like grammer), with the possibility to add it by only hitting the enter button, speeding up the translation process a lot. I would like to see this feature in Phrase, too. Would be the perfect tool!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Phrase I create fast translations for different clients. I have various Memsource accounts with several clients and don't have to switch between different tools so often.

UI was very intuitive, logical, clean and simple

Adding context images feature was not the best
The support was not personal - not dedicated at all, too automated
Automatization was not possible due to the lack of connectors (Zenndesk) at that time
Pricing plans were tied to the number of users
General lack of features that could enable scaling and automatization. I might have also been that we didn't know how to do it - however Phrase support were not really there for us either

Consistency and quality, plus speed thanks to Translation memory and glossary features

It is good for smaller businesses.
Maybe they have improved their features by now. My experience is about 2-3 years old.
