User-friendly and intuitive platform

What do you like best about the product?
I find the whole structure very useful, with the context section giving valuable information and the comment section allowing translators to communicate with PMs and have a look at the concerns raised by other linguists as well. The suggestions are very clear, and I also like the quick verification process. Working on so effective a tool is such a relief for a translator!
What do you dislike about the product?
There's just one thing that, in my opinion, and based on my experience, could be improved, that is how to search phrases or single words in the translation memory. It would be good to have a specific section, next to the suggestions one, where to rapidly find previous occurrences of a particular word, instead of having to use the search function with the magnifying glass on the left corner, that forces us to open a new tab.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At the moment, I have no problems with the tool. Obviously, the benefits are improved capacity per hour and a satisfying user experience with no stress and useless waste of time.

What do you like best about the product?
The possibility of integration. The API is very nice and easy to use, which let a lot of possibilities for developers. The functionnal IHM is pretty nice too for the translators.
What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest their Java library is very bad. But that's all. So that's a good point.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The goal is to make the translator / functionnal team's ife easier.

A Great Localization Tool

What do you like best about the product?
As a developer, Phrase has allowed us to work on translations efficiently. Before, we could write all the translation strings in a spreadsheet and send them to translators, then integrate them into our code. Now, with the use of Phrase, all the translations are done there, and we just sync it in our code.
Also, I loved how the documentation provided easy steps to follow.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, I love everything about phrase
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Translate our products strings to other Languages
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need to use a localization tool, then Phrase won't disappoint

What do you like best about the product?
Memsource is east to use, yet powerful translation tools for both individual and team translation projects. The included PM tools are also useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Compared to more expensive and complicated translation software, Memsource lacks some tools, especially in term management projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Translation tasks, especially in team projects. I also teach and train translation technology courses. Memsource is excellent tool for learning CAT-skills.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good tool for translation projects and basic project management.

What do you like best about the product?
It's easy and helpful for my translation career.
What do you dislike about the product?
The quality QA report for Bengali spelling is not satisfactory. Most of the time the spelling errors are false.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The fuzzy matches of the translation memory are good. It makes my translation job faster.

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy and very user-friendly. It is all packed in Memsource Server. Their support services are truly incredible!!!
What do you dislike about the product?
Their QA feature. This is the only aspect that requires extra attention from me, as a PM, towards our resources using it. Many times they require my assistance and I even have to deliver for them.
Other items that could be improved are:
The recycle bin could be more user-friendly by placing deleted files in project folders. It is sometimes difficult to find deleted items because they are all placed together.
The resources section is a little time-consuming. If you need to make a change to a resource account you need to go number by number (menu below) till you get to the right surname. These numbers could be letters of the alphabet and show all of them, so it is quicker to find their names.
Our resources sometimes get confused with how to find new files assigned to them. They don't understand that there is a jobs tab and a projects tab, and that the files will appear under projects only after they are accepted. I find it a little redundant too!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I like it that it all happens online, with all work items integrated in their server (TM, TB, files, resources). It is easy to assign and manage. We (LSP and resources) are all unified in the use of the same CAT Tool, tmx, tbs.

Great platform - has sped our processes up

  • February 25, 2022

What do you like best about the product?
A flexible platform that consolidates most part of the translation process. I have been able to integrate it with existing software, which has streamlined our processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wouldn't say that there is anything specific about Memsource that I dislike. I do sometimes find the CAT tool to be a bit laggy when I am changing or searching for things in multiple files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating quotes and QAing translations have become easier and include more tools and functions than our previous CAT tool. Placing jobs is also much quicker and easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look into how Memsource can integrate with your current software - we did and it has saved us a lot of time and sped our processes up further :)

Excellent CAT that helps me greatly reduce total translation time and efforts

What do you like best about the product?
Memsource is very simple to use and user-friendly. In addition, Memsource translate is a great invention: I do not have to copy&paste sentences to Google Translate and I do not have a risk of mistyping.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is almost nothing I dislike about Memsource. However, if I am forced to mention, Memsource could improve the filter function for Japanese-English translation. The Japanese language employs double-byte characters. For example, a Japanese source text may contain both "+" as a single-byte character and "+" as a double-byte character. When I filter the text by typing "+" as a single-byte character, the result shows segments containing the single-byte character only, not the double-byte character. Therefore, I have to enter "+" as a double-byte character in the Filter field. The same holds true for other characters including "-," "#," and "%."

If Memsource shows segments with double-byte characters as well as those with single-byte ones, it will be great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Until I started Memsource, I had to type a lot of words manually. Thanks to Memsource, which suggests words the instant I start to type, I now don't have to do it: I simply choose one of the suggested words, which relieves my stress. It's not too much to say that Memsource prevents me from suffering tendonitis (inflammation of a tendon sheath) that may be caused by typing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I have recommended Memsource to other translators already. Since you can start a free plan (Personal edition) and also free-trial, I feel easy to recommend Memsource to others. In addition, Memsource is very simple and user-friendly, everyone can learn the basic just in 30 minutes or so.

Simple, fast, and reliable!

What do you like best about the product?
Well, there are several:
1. It is super easy to navigate around and get familiar with various sections and capabilities of Phrase,
2. It has this "comment" section where you can ask others (including the admins) questions to clarify vague words and phrases,
3. The "context" section also helps the translator better understand what each keyword refers to. For example, if "X" is an action or just a title,
4. If you know more than two languages, you are in luck because Phrase lets you see how a sentence is translated in other languages as well, which can be a big help sometimes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only minor issue (can I even call it an issue?) that bugs me is that if you turn on 2FA, Phrase does not allow you to mark a device safe for a while (e.g., 30 days). Hence, if you enter the website every 24 hrs, even though it skips the username and password, it asks for the 2FA code each time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When a German email service provider asked volunteers to translate its product to various languages, I joined the volunteer team. Currently, I am assisting them by translating their content to Persian. So far, the whole experience has been smooth and hassle-free.
