Simple and efficient CAT Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like the simplicity of this CAT Tool. A friendly layout that displays just what I need and not a thousand options that confuse the user is a plus. I also like the fact that you can easily search for terms in the TM and TB.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you zoom in too much, you lose access to some options, such as applying the content from the source segment to the target segment. To circumvent this, you have to copy-paste the segment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me to benefit from an updated TM and TB. This makes me save some precious time, especially when I have long documents to translate. It also takes less RAM than using an installed software since it's available everywhere online. This is especially good when you travel as you can also use it on a tablet.
Slow response makes me type over translated text instead of within the search text box
What do you like best about the product?
It's ok and it's online, so I dont' have to own software in order to provide translation/editing services for agencies that use it. It also allows to 'join' several files, a very good feature when I'm dealing with a multifile translation, especially for keeping translations consistent.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have faced some slow response time, which makes me type text over the current translated segment after selecting a search field.
Confirming many segments in sequence also 'freezes' the tool after 60 segments or so, sometimes for minutes.
And there should be a 'Confirm all segments' option, because I confirm all segments before editing, precisely to spot such misplaced typing.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can translate for agencies without the need to purchase specific software or installing in all computers I use. (Once I lost a software license because a computer crashed and both the license and the data that would allow me to retrieve it were lost.)
Amazing tool for localization
What do you like best about the product?
Phrase is easy to use and very intuitive tool for translation and localization. Offers you suggestions and machine translation variants for faster translation and proofreading. Love the new feature with % of matching, which is very important and handy when translating.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would love to have a concordance search in the translation base to find separate words and phrases that were previously translated but are not showing in the suggestions. Now I'm using a different tool for that, which is inconvenient. So, there is some room for improvement in that field.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to use it anywhere and on any device - since it's an online tool. Helps me to get my translations done faster with suggestions and machine translation variants.
Phrase Academic Edition
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Phrase TMS since 2018 to teach translation technologies and project management at BA and MA levels. It is intuitive, easy-to-use and, above all, cloud-based.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Term Base feature needs improvement as it only recognizes terms in nominative (ignoring other grammatical cases).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My students use Phrase TMS to manage translation projects (assigning roles and supervising their teammates). The solution is cloud-based, which is particularly important in my case, because we work both in and outside the classroom. I can monitor the whole process easily.
GREAT TRASLATION TOOL, THE TOOL OF TOOLS
What do you like best about the product?
Phrase TMS makes sure you don't make consistency or grammar errors and that when you are ready to submit a job, it is actually ready.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tags are sometimes not too user-friendly, especially for self-taught Phrase TMS users. If there is a place where you can teach to apply different set of rules or add a new rule for the specific file you are working on, I haven't found it. It would be very useful for big jobs where the same correction comes up on the QA
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When you do the QA it automatically shows you when its punctuation and you can solve it on the segment. You can copy the source to the target with just a simple key combination, easy to memorize.
Efficient translation mamagement
What do you like best about the product?
We started our journey using Excel and a lot of copy paste between diffrent sheets and files in various formats. Basically a can of worms. Today everything is well organized in projects integrated into our diffrent development envs. Phrase made translations fun and efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
We would love to have some kind of market were we can connect and order translations. Maybe it already exist?

Making it easy and efficient to provide translations over severals products and services

What do you like best about the product?
Ordering phrases, termbase, and translation memory. Organizing workflow phases.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tags are the most problematic. They cause trouble most of the time because of the place and direction. Sometimes some errors cannot be ignored but are not clear to correct.
I need a more automatic way to send jobs to online repository.. I export several jobs manually everyday, this takes time.
The phone app is not that great. I usually open Prase on my mobile's browser, better than the app but not that easy to handle.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Phrase helps me organize the article, so I don't omit any phrase by mistake. TB and TM are also great; they save me lots of search time. I like how stages organize the workflow, translation, revision, proofreading, etc.
Very useful for a translator
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use and the possibility to create, save and re-use translation memories makes the job easier and faster, above all for technical translations and frequent customers/subjects
What do you dislike about the product?
The possibility to charge also pdf files would be really an advantage. Also the opportunity to open memories in formats different from tmx only for consultation or review/update would be fantastic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Translation memories are fundamental when working for the same customer periodically or when dealing with similar subject, you don't need to search again and again for the same terms in a specific context.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy access from web browser and/or mobile app, great and knowledgeable TM memory, great auto-fill function, great user interface that reads very easily and awesome support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is a bit clunky when used on different browsers like Chrome / Brave. Works perfectly with rather outdated browsers like Microsoft Edge, no dark mode.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently there is still rather small support for different web browsers and I get logged out after logging in and trying to interact with UI and new tasks. That could be solved.
My most important work tool
What do you like best about the product?
Phrase TMS is easy to use and accessible from a variety of platforms. It has a clean userface, and is very stable compared to a lot of the other translation tools on the market. Whenever I have the choice, I prefer working in Phrase TMS.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have several customers who all use Phrase TMS, and that have connected me to their server. It would be very helpful if I could add all of these accounts to one login on the webapp in the same way that I can on the mobile app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Phrase TMS makes it a lot easier to make sure my translations are consistent. I often work on large book projects where it would be hard to maintain the same level of consistency without Phrase TMS. It also makes it possible for me to work from several platforms and when I am on the move.
