High price hike with low value
What do you like best about the product?
I like the online editor to manage the translations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Phrase highly increase the price of their offer recently. They added several products to their offer that we don't need and don't want to use.
We really find this out after the rebill was done. The commercial support was not keen to cancel this rebill or propose a regular price for the renewal or propose a shorter renew period.
I feel like I have been scammed.

Phrase for product localisation
What do you like best about the product?
Phrase offers a very intuitive user interface that makes onboarding fast and effortless. Its integrations with JIRA and Slack streamline communication, and the ability to collaborate with multiple users on the same project is invaluable for efficient localisation workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, the platform presents too many options and buttons, which can feel overwhelming and slightly distracting when navigating the interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Phrase for product localisation. It is a very helpful tool, and allows numerous localisation specialists who have expertise in different languages to work in parallel.
Thorough Editing with Phrase
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Phrase for MTPE and Editing procedures on translation company accounts. By having to click every sentence, it helps go over thoroughly when performing proofreading.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are too many unnecessary checkpoints on QC. For example, there are many instances the ending punctuation differ into other languages. These have to be checked every time, and there are too many redundant checkpoints when performing QC.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it as a vendor for translation companies who has contract with Phrase.
Phrase has streamlined the language services I provide and made translation management effortless
What do you like best about the product?
Phrase ensures the consistency across all my translation projects. The integrated term bases and translation memories work seamlessly together to maintain uniform terminology and phrasing throughout different documents, which is crucial for professional language services. The review workflow adds another layer of quality control, allowing inconsistencies to be fixed before final delivery. This combination of features has significantly improved the coherence and reliability of my translations, giving me confidence that clients receive consistent messaging across all their multilingual content. It has now been integrated into my daily professional activities.
Beyond its powerful consistency features, Phrase is remarkably user-friendly and intuitive. Implementing it was seamless, and as an experienced CAT tool user, I found virtually no learning curve - the interface is so well-designed that it requires almost no training to get started. This ease of use has made it my go-to platform for all my translation projects, allowing me to focus on the quality of my work rather than wrestling with complicated software. The seamless integration into my workflow means I can deliver projects more efficiently while maintaining the high standards my clients expect.

What do you dislike about the product?
One area where Phrase could improve is in the translation memory management workflow. Currently, to update the translation memory with completed translations, I need to download the finished files and then manually upload them back into the system. It would be much more efficient if there were a direct option to automatically populate the translation memory with completed segments without requiring this download-upload process. This would streamline the workflow further and ensure that translation memories are always up-to-date with the latest approved translations, making future projects even more efficient.

Consistency across all my documents and projects
Streamlined Localization with Smart Automation and Intuitive Design
What do you like best about the product?
Phrase has become a cornerstone of our localization workflow. Its intuitive interface, powerful CAT tools, and seamless integration with platforms like GitHub and Figma make it easy to manage complex projects across time zones. I especially appreciate the Phrase Orchestrator for building no-code workflows—it’s a game-changer for automating repetitive tasks.
The translation memory and machine translation suggestions (via Phrase Language AI) save time without compromising quality. Plus, the ability to train custom MT engines adds a layer of control that’s rare in other platforms.
Phrase doesn’t just support localization—it empowers it. From developer-friendly string management to insightful analytics, it’s built for scale and precision.

What do you dislike about the product?
One key feature I miss is the ability to work with multiple source languages in a single project. For teams handling regional variations or pivot translations, this limitation adds unnecessary workaround steps. Additionally, when working with SRT files in the editor, I’d love to see a more media-aware layout—ideally with three distinct columns: timestamp, source, and target. A preview pane with in-line video playback (similar to Wordbee’s segment-based video feature) would be a game-changer for subtitle accuracy and context.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Phrase Language AI and customizable MT engines allow us to scale efficiently while maintaining brand voice and terminology. The analytics dashboard gives us visibility into cost, quality, and speed—critical for continuous improvement.
Very practical CAT platform.
What do you like best about the product?
The automatic synchronization is a powerful time saving feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
I like everything about it. You can always improve it if you want.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Well, that is where I handle all my translation projects. I can even say it's my workstation.
Takes the guesswork out of translating documentation
What do you like best about the product?
Since it's on the cloud, Phrase allows me to upload an easily exported XLIFF file from Paligo (our documentation tool) and then our remote-working translator can log in independently and filter it by Unconfirmed to show only the new or changed segments. When he is finished, I can import the new segments back into Paligo and we are done!
This reduces wasted time and resources on duplicate or tracking translations.
I love the translation memory, that shows MT and 99% matching for accuracy with previous phrases from our documentation.
And the wide range of languages - including both LTR and RTL.

What do you dislike about the product?
The tags for some phrases imported from Paligo can get messed up and require reinserting, but we have just adopted that correction as part of our workflow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We write our documentation in English, and need to localize it for other countries in the US and EMEA.
But we do not have an in-house translator with access to Paligo, our documentation tool. Instead we use remote contractors, who can access Phrase from anywhere without the need for a Paligo license.
Phrase allows us to use one or more translators to agilely work on our translations for easy import back into Paligo, retaining all formatting, attributes tagging and cross-references.
The Confirmed/Unconfirmed filters also make it simple and therefore-cost-effective for our translator to only translate the new or changed content.
The memory and machine-learning suggestions also make it easier and quicker for our translator, by providing an almost-ready phrase to start with that just needs light editing.

Best trade-off between features and cloud
What do you like best about the product?
Due to its on-premise history, it has the feature-depth that Trados users will miss while being much more flexible. It's the only cloud TMS with a decent translation editor, you can tell it was built by people who know their users.
It's super easy to sign up and get started. Customer support is amazing, they are knowledgable and respond quickly.
I use Phrase TMS for all my translation projects. Haven't yet needed Phrase Strings.

What do you dislike about the product?
The term base feature is a bit neglected. The search and replace feature needs better regex support, it's missing some stuff that the desktop version can do, like negative lookahead, which are crucial for MT-PE at scale.
The MT integration via Phrase Language AI is paywalled and charges me twice.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me translate long texts and maintains the formatting.
very intuitive and efficient CAT tool
What do you like best about the product?
it's very intuitive and easy to use, customer support team is very helpful
What do you dislike about the product?
i wish Phrase TMS came with a desktop version, too
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
consistent translations, quick, efficient
Efficient, user-friendly, and powerful for localization.
What do you like best about the product?
I like best that Phrase offers an intuitive interface with strong integration options, making translation workflows faster and easier to manage.
What do you dislike about the product?
Phrase excels in usability but can struggle with large-scale projects, QA precision, error clarity, and value for less-intensive users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Phrase solves the problem of managing complex localization projects by centralizing files, automating workflows, and ensuring consistency across translations. This benefits me by saving time in teaching project-based localization, exposing students to industry-standard tools, and simplifying collaboration and review processes.
