The fact that is web based and accessible from anywhere is great.

  • June 18, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As mentioned above, the fact that is web based and accessible from everywhere, can be linked to google drive and the smart memory that I can customise.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not all files are accepted, certain slide decks and complex spreadsheet don't go through Memsource and we end up translating them manually which can be frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The memory is a key reference that I couldn't live without. It save huge amount of time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure it's compatible with other tools and processes you use.

What you need to localize your site

  • June 15, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The main reason to choose it is that it has no limits for how many copies you can manage as other companies do. Apart from that, it has a lot of useful feature like the one called "jobs".
It is very easy to start working with the tool which makes you sure you have made the right choice.
Another good point is the huge variety of formats that you can use to import/export, it'd be very difficult for you to not be able to find a format which fits you. In our case using locales from JS and Ruby.
What do you dislike about the product?
It happens to me when I upload a nested json that sometimes some values have failed, but it has not always been and maybe from 2000 texts I've lost 2 translations. But when you go to the "locales" section you quickly see how many keys are missing the translation so it's not a big deal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're managing different projects with different languages for each of them. The best part is the Product team can access the tool and edit the copies as desired without having to imply the dev team which makes easier and quicker the process of edit texts in the application.

A solid tool for software localization

  • June 11, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Well documented APIs to either update sources or pull new translations.
Branching functionality could also be used for product variations.
Process flow customization with 'reviewed' and/or 'verified' flagging.
Glossaries and the accompanying functionality help a lot in imposing consistency across the process.
Ease of access to translation agencies/partners.
Intuitive UI to work with, especially with locales management.
Extensive compatibility on file types for direct downloading.
What do you dislike about the product?
Screenshots are currently in beta. A separate screenshot management per branch may help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our software localization process is better defined after we start using the software. Translators and non-engineers may operate more independently from a DevOps point of view.

What do you like best about the product?
It is very simple to use and has a very intuitive interface that makes work easier.
It is easy to find what is missing and on the right side you can find suggestions for each task based on previous works.
You can also tag a co-worker if you need to highlight/discuss something
What do you dislike about the product?
Actually, I didn`t find a weakness so far.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's easy to manage different projects containing different languages.
I think it's the very best for localization projects.
Once you try Phrase, you never go back! :-)

Great way to manage translations with a dedicated tool

  • June 04, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the Phrase chat functionality. The tool is quite self explaining, but anytime I have questions I can simply ask through the chat support and get help immediately.
What do you dislike about the product?
I cannot really say that I dislike something. I have some ideas from time to time for helpful functionalities and these will be hopefully there soon:-)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Phrase, we were using Excel sheets for translations. Meanwhile we manage 9 languages and this tool saves so much time.

Very good for translating international websites

  • June 02, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
you can easily find the word or phrase that you need to translate
What do you dislike about the product?
it does not point exactly to which is the one you would like to translate (in case your word or phrase appears several times)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If the development team is mapping the place of the word correctly, it is super easy to find.
we are successfully working with Phrase for a few years now, and couldn't be happier

Great online solution

  • June 02, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Phrase is a very user-friendly and neat online solution. The overview of multiple languages in a project helps to monitor progress. Within the editor, one of the most useful tools is the fact that reference material (e.g. screen shots) can be provided as additional background information for the translation process. Copying tags is made easy with a simple click and and the filter options are a bonus.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't dislike it, but there is room for improvement with the down- and upload of files. Occasionally, we download the translatable content as XLIFF files in order to use a different software (like SDL Trados Studio) that enables us to use additional tools, like glossaries and existing translation memories for consistency. The upload then gets rejected on occasion, but as far as I am aware, the support team are looking into this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a translation agency we now use Phrase to simplify the order process of one of our biggest customers. They can create their translation projects in Phrase and assign the translation tasks of different languages, to different providers. The benefit for us and our customer is the ease of communication through Phrase.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take your time exploring the different functionalities and make use of the tools available.

Awesome way to manage translation on your website

  • June 01, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a product marketing manager, working in a multilanguage company, one of my regular responsibilities is translating new phrase strings to local language and making sure it's understandable to our users.
For a long long time, we were using excel spreadsheets, and changing anything was really troublesome as most stuff was hardcoded. Now, we can do it on the go and easily adjust based on our customers' feedback.
Phraseapp is very intuitive with project management dashboard, translation history, possibility to add a screenshot (so the business knows what particular string product had in mind) and allows you to invite multiple people to collaborate on translation.
On top of this, I like how the UI looks. Its very competent yet not distracting so you can focus on a task at hand.
What do you dislike about the product?
I cant really say there is something I dislike. Phraseapp is clean and easy to use so thumbs up.
One thing that could be added is that when you search for a string, you could see immediately "last update date" so you don't have to go into each one by one and look it up in details.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Phrase we manage translations for our services across EU for both, mobile and desktop. Before Phrase we were doing in via spreadsheet and gosh, never wanna go back to that time ;)

Fast and easy to use Website translation service

  • May 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use Phrase. I like that they have command line tools which makes it easy to use for developers when pushing new texts or pulling latest translations.
The Web interface is also really easy to use when need to fix some small mistakes.

Also like that orders get translated quit fast, usually in 1-2 days.

Support service is very helpful and reacts to emails quit fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
When using template strings with variables, translators sometimes translates variable names or miss required curly brackets, so each time when pulling new translation, have to check all translations manually and fix mistakes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Phrase for Website translation

Essential tool for any multilingual site

  • May 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Once we started using Phrase we didn't need developers adding the translations, but anyone could do it. This way developers can focus on code and not translations, and additiong and changing translations became very easy and fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
When we started using Phrase several years ago, it was less intuitive, but since then they invested a lot in usability and it's very intuitive and easy to use, also for non technical people.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Once we started using PhraseApp, translating to several languages became very easy. Before it was a big burden on our developers, with lots of iterations to get just the right translation - all wasting valuable time from the developers and of porudct owners. Today, we don't need developers adding the translations, but anyone can do it. This way developers can focus on code and not translations.
