Asana for the win!
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the robust features Asana offers - being able to tag and connect tasks as well as sync with Google Calendar is like magic!
What do you dislike about the product?
That I can't get everyone on board with me because it's not as easy as simply sending an email. I wouldn't say this is an Asana problem; it's just hard to get people to buy into things and invest the time to learn.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's really helpful to be able to link documents and calendar events together, as well as assign tasks and let people comment/have conversation about items. It's nice to move away from constant emails and give some responsibility directly to others that way.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Really commit a little time to figure out how to use it and it will get you off to a great start. Most of the annoyances come from not understanding how the flow works and then giving up.

Easy task boarding
What do you like best about the product?
Strong on visual display of tasks and status. Easy for teams to work keep up to date with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Yet another piece of software.... Asana does a good job sending updates via email but nonetheless you have to really work in the application to get full value. Also we use Slack for a lot project communication, and it can get confusing when folks put notes in Asana but not Slack or vice-versa.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have multiple projects across buiness functions that require collaboration from various team members. We use Asana to keep everyone clear about deadlines and outstanding deliverables.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana was recommended by a team member so we did not compare to others. Time permitting I would invest the effort to integrate with your other communication tools.
Free tool good for helping unorganized teams
What do you like best about the product?
Task tagging, task assigning, check off graphics! "Assigned to me" feature
What do you dislike about the product?
Big learning curve, team slow to adopt; we've basically given up on this tool because it's more intrusive than it is helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were looking for a tool to help us manage workload across multiple team members and measure cycles. This was not achieved, partly because our full team did not adopt the tool, leaving the project management (PM) team to update everyone else's items. This clearly wouldn't work long term and felt intrusive to everybody.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good tool; full team MUST adopt using it regularly and keeping it up to date or it becomes useless.
Asana Review
What do you like best about the product?
I like the visibility Asana gives you into what tasks are assigned to you, as well as the ability to create groups and see what tasks other people have outstanding.
What do you dislike about the product?
The task bar on the left hand of the screen can be a little busy and difficult to sift through.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our finance team currently uses Asana to manage their tasks. As a member of the Business Intelligence team, they have added me to one of their groups to assign me tasks related to finance. This helps our two teams stay coordinated on what projects are outstanding with me and what I have already completed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is definitely worth a try. I don't see much differentiation from other tools such as Trello, however i think i certainly fills the need of tracking projects and tasks.
Excellent project management tool and personal to-do-list
What do you like best about the product?
• Excellent to do list
• Excellent tagging and cross-project to do lists.
• New kanban board functionality makes my other board productivity apps redundant (I can do everything virtually from asana)
• Always developing new things
• Free version has vast usability
• The app makes it highly usable across multiple devices
• Integrates with other things like Google Calendar

What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to dislike to be honest. Could have more background design features. It would be nice to have a button to switch lists into board mode at will. VERY minor dislikes. This online app is one of the best I have found. There could be better options in reports. I also wish that when you make projects, that the headings in your projects would stay static so that if you sort the tasks in a project then the tasks would sort underneath their headings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management. What an amazing tool. Helps me in planning, strategy, managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Most productivity apps have free versions like this so feel free to try all at once. After a few days you will find that the apps you can't ignore (like asana for me) will be your long term app. Asana offers a really no risk investment being free and you will find that it is tremendously useful. I was also you using Trello in conjunction with Asana, but with Asana's new 'board' functionality I have suddenly had no need for Trello anymore.
Poor management software - too busy in the interface. too long to set up.
What do you like best about the product?
I did like the interface. I enjoyed it for my own personal management and project tracking.
What do you dislike about the product?
I found that other staff were difficult to buy into it because of it's technical nature. It did not have enough tutorial for new users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I had been trying to manage a team that worked at odd hours. They were young, so they know the technical side, but they were unimpressed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take your time to set it u- I was moving too fast when I was trying to set it up for my team.
Easy to use, excellent UI, plenty of features
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing about Asana is how much it enables you to continue using it. With the ability to sync with any of your calendars, you are able to completely stay on top of all of your tasks at hand. Because of this, using Asana is a breeze.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that I wish Asana had was a dedicated application for MacOS and Windows. Sometimes it's just another browser tab/window that is taking up space. I would love to be able to have it as a desktop application which can handle alerts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana to handle our due dates and make sure that our developers are on top of when their current projects are due. With the developers knowing when their projects are due, we are able to deliver our projects and products to customers in a timely manner.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely take on Asana. It is a great product and when implemented with programs such as Slack it can become so powerful. With Slack you can have your deadlines appear from Asana directly in the chat, or private message your employees reminding them that things are due on a specific date. With Asana it has never been easier to keep on top of all of your current tasks.
Asana Delivers Where Other Project Management Software Falls Short
What do you like best about the product?
We use Asana with our small team to create tasks and discuss projects. We use it to delegate, assign and keep on task. It has a simple task style that is easy to use for those that are new to Asana, e.g. clients. But more complex features allow for you to get deeper on projects and how you plan a project
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana has a ton of external extensions. The one that I wish was native was the Gantt Chart functionality. That one is missing from the mix. Also I wish there was a native app for Mac Desktop that would make the platform perform a little smoother when there are larger projects. The interface would be quicker if this was the case.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We manage almost all of our client projects through Asana and love how they price it for smaller teams (e.g. Free), but they scale it so smaller organizations don't need to pay out the nose to get the pro features. Keeps us on track and client projects in order.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try, it's free to start. Great collaboration tool and platform.
Keeps me coming back
What do you like best about the product?
It's superficial but the best thing about Asana is the absolutely beautiful interface. After looking at boring terminals and spreadsheets, it's a pleasure to set-up my projects and collaborative files on the site. It's also quite nice for clients and team members to work with.
It's both confusing and simple. Once you get a feel for the flow of Asana, it becomes simple to set-up your projects and grow with it.
The visibility of everyone's responsibilities and the ability to assign people with ease makes Asana a great choice for small or enterprise level teams.
Currently, MRG uses Asana to keep developer clients on track with our advertising campaigns for new developments. Everyone is up to date without making a phone call. With the phone apps no one has an excuse for not being on top of the job.
An added bonus for me is the way projects are delineated with in the desktop app and the phone app. I can work with a number of different clients and project without confusion. I am totally immersed in a project uby using the beautiful and zen backgrounds so there is no worry about overlap or putting the wrong information in the incorrect client file.

What do you dislike about the product?
I do find the original set-up a little confusing. The choice of trello like table or lists seems to be a choice you can't reverse or I have yet to find the button to make it happen. On rare occasions, there have been update issues where my new information did not filter out for hours to the team
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communication. A problem in all companies. How to get the message to key players quickly and efficiently. Asana makes it happen. Files, links and pertinent information is delivered by web and phone. Client love the interface and getting updates from me without having to stop for a lengthy phone call. they can also look at the information at their leisure.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If engagement of team members is an issue, this is a good option. IT's easy, it's nice to look at and interact with. Your employees or contractors and even clients will like having this way to be in touch 24/7 without time consuming calls. It just keeps everyone on the same page.
Good PM Tool For Tasks and Projects
What do you like best about the product?
I liked the interface of Asana and it's features similar to social media channels that allowed for easy adoption internally and even the ability to use for client communication. The ability to tag members of your team or other teams (or even group members of the platform into teams to alert them all at once of something) was really useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
There was not a ton of customization available, but there also wasn't a lot we couldn't accomplish due to the lack of customization options so it wasn't a big set back. Overall I think the pricing is what deterred us from renewing again.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were trying to solve problems with internal communication of project timelines, deliverables, clients needs and internal workflow. It help tremendously in getting multiple groups, especially on very collaborative projects across the company, on the same page at all times while ensuring everyone knew who had ownership over what piece of the project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend really educating internal stakeholders how you plan to roll out Asana and what its primary use will be for. There was initially a low adoption rate of the tool at our company simply because it wasn't clearly stated how each team member should be utilizing the platform.
