Couldn't survive without it!

What do you like best about the product?
Eason of use, index card view, sharing files and notes - best software for projects period.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing! It is better than any of the others I have used before.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Projects with people in multiple locations, sharing files. Accountability for everyone knows where things are at all times. No more "I never got it."
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get it! It's free to start so you can get used to it.

Asana is a great tool for team collaboration.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Asana is its collaboration abilities for teams. I used Asana in working as a contractor for another company and it made it super easy to communicate with their team remotely. It's pretty quick and easy to learn and the interface makes sense and is well designed.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I did not need to collaborate with others outside my own office, I don't think I would use Asana as there just aren't enough relevant features for me. I'm someone who is extremely organized on my own, and don't always enjoy having to learn new software programs unless it's very necessary.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has really helped me communicate with other teams in a collaborative, efficient, and useful way. I've realized that if I continue to grow my own team, implementing a software tool like Asana would be highly beneficial for growth and success.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend Asana for medium to large-sized teams, especially for those who work remotely. It's a great and efficient way to communicate.

Too much for what we needed. Some bloatware features

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Feature rich platform that allows you to do very complex project management tasks
What do you dislike about the product?
Non-intuitive on-boarding and requirements that passive users do too much
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking progress of our marketing team's design projects
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Buy the professional services contract. You will need it

Wooo-Asana

What do you like best about the product?
Ever wondered what it was like to see a unicorn shoot across your screen? You'll love the sight even more after you've finished a task within a project or completed a section of a project!
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like for there to be the ability to edit the entire template, and delete multiple tasks at once. Especially since the templates have multiple tasks with details that aren't really needed...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communication throughout the team. Some seem to enjoy starting things, dreaming up processes, and not following through. No more! We've got templates, we've got processes and tasks flowing like gold!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dive into getting to know the features and how to use the templates before diving in. Make sure the person recommending the software at least has a little bit of knowledge about implementing software and rolling out a new tool to a team-- that helps a lot. There is a feature that I noticed today, you can leverage the team at Asana to create workflows and such for you! I might consider that in the future, its worth exploring- especially with a budget strict project.

Easy-Peazy with Asana

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Provides me with an easy to edit checklist, that can be broken into categories that helps keep things organized.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally Asana logs out and I have to log back in. Not a huge deal, just a minor inconvenience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sometimes I will edit the wrong task. Is there an "undo" option? Could we get something that helps us undo mistakes?

A User-Friendly Task Management Tool

  • May 26, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
At Occasion Brands, we rely heavily on Asana to keep all teams on track with their tasks. My favorite part about Asana is the ability to customize my task list according to my needs i.e., not having the order default to something like oldest to newest task. I like to break up my personal task list according to priority, and the ability to reorder and add sections to my task list help with this significantly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like that there can only be one person assigned to a task at one time, even if there is a "followers" option. There are tasks that occasionally need to be worked on by two people, but it will physically appear on one of the two people's personal task lists. This does open the possibility of forgetting about the task. Yes, there is an inbox that provides you updates about your tasks, but as someone who receives notifications at least thirty times from various tasks on any given day, it's easy to miss important updates sometimes especially on tasks that I am responsible for but not directly assigned. I can only do so much remind myself as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Asana, we are looking to communicate needs/information amongst different teams, maintain visibility on tasks that are incoming, in progress, or require review, and in certain cases, get written approvals. Having used Asana, I do appreciate that it can be customized to streamline communications between teams. Asana is especially key for our Project Managers who have to oversee a large pool of tasks at any given time and they may not necessarily have a direct hand it. Asana also helps keep teams accountable and transparent when it comes to statuses and meeting deadlines.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are considering Asana, I would take advantage of the customization that is available throughout the application. There may be an initial learning curve, but the most basic features can be learned within a day. If your team is very task-driven and requires a lot of back and forth that may not be easily achievable via email or in-person, Asana is helpful in that sense.

Asana is a good solution!

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a great tool for task management and team collaboration.
Asana has a great team behind its product that constantly updates the platform to meet customer demand.
What do you dislike about the product?
As with all services, there is a learning curve to actually becoming proficient in using Asana, but that can be easily accomplished with a bit of time and practice.
The only thing I want to mention as a negative is the lack of an option to hide team members from the sidebar because they are shown on top of each project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Based on my experience, Asana is a great tool to coordinate small teams (or startups) and be more productive while keeping an eye on progress and bottlenecks.

Basically a glorified to-do list

What do you like best about the product?
For me the best part is the stuff that doesn't actually move the needle forward, unfortunately. There are fun add-ons like little animated celebrations when you check off a task, which provides a nice little hit of dopamine.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's very confusing to use. The Projects can get cluttered, and it's unclear how to add something to your own calendar vs the team calendar, and I end up having duplicate tasks in multiple places because it's just not that intuitive to organize. I spend more time than I would like consolidating lists and confirming deadlines with team members.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's nice to be able to keep track of tasks and organize according to which project they fall under. It's easy to 'assign' other team members to projects to hopefully keep everyone in the loop, but to be honest since everyone finds Asana so confusing, I don't know that it actually helps much.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We are a small team trying to use Asana and it's fairly confusing. I cannot imagine trying to use Asana in a large team. I wouldn't necessarily recommend Asana for any team, not to mention a large one.

Efficient

What do you like best about the product?
I like the communication between my coworkers on our tasks, I also like the recurring option for tasks. This helps me not have to try to remember my weekly tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish it had a few more capabilities. We especially needed something that would also track our customers. I wish it had a few more cheaper options for companies like us ~ 501C3's that are working with a very limited budget.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
inter office communication is a huge reason i like Asana. i am able to see everything my coworker is doing on each task. how much she has pushed it out, the notes she has made on it, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to learn what all it can do. very beneficial with inter office communication. take the time to set it up correctly.
