Solo business-friendly, with tools to help me scale

  • June 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I've used almost every project management tool out there, and while there have been pros and cons of each, quite often I've found that they have too much going on that it becomes overwhelming as a small business owner with a handful of clients at any one time. What I like about Asana is that it does the basics well, giving me the tools I need to manage my small (but important) number of projects, while also having scalability built in - I know that as I grow, Asana will adapt to what I need.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a bit of a learning curve to it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a solo business owner, it's on me to make sure projects are getting done, tasks are being captured and that I'm working towards my big picture goals. Asana helps me track my daily tasks, managing outsourcing, keep clients in the loop on their projects and work towards big goals in bite-size chunks.

My team finally knows who's doing what thanks to Asana

  • June 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I simply love the way Asana makes it simple to handle tasks to an entire team. To know precisely what everyone possesses in a project is astonishing as in a case where we are rolling out a new site. The timeline view is by far so useful in showing us our progress. It is easy to visualize whether we are in the right track or we have to pay more attention in something. It simplifies the process of organizing complex projects to the extent that it becomes very stress-free to the concerned parties. We understand what to do further precisely.
What do you dislike about the product?
Say there are loads of notifications to be sent at times and this can be a little too much unless customized. When starting to use it, it might be a little overwhelming, at least on smaller teams of users. By getting to know everything a long time has to pass and practice is necessary. It is also prone to some congestion of the interface when you are having a lot of tasks and subtasks open. It is a pity that one could not have a simpler view to just check them out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We would deal with the issue of not knowing what everyone was supposed to do before Asana. There was constant failure in the ability to complete projects as key steps were not considered or dependencies not well understood. Today, there is a central point in every endeavor yet all tasks are owned and an assigned deadline is given using Asana. What it translates to is that we are making our project milestones and we are not doing so during unending status calls. It has helped the way it makes things clear, and this has minimized our stress and increased the productivity of our team. It is an organizing game changer that holds us responsible.

My secret weapon for staying organized

  • June 26, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Where do I even begin?! Asana has completely transformed how I manage my tasks and ideas. My absolute favorite feature is the ability to create a dynamic, running to-do list for the future. I no longer have to stress about remembering things, I just set a due date, and it reappears exactly when I need it.

It’s also a total game-changer for capturing brainstorms. I can quickly jot down ideas, park them for later, and revisit them when the timing is right. No more losing brilliant thoughts to the abyss.

For people like me who hate bugging my coworkers, collaboration is seamless. I love being able to assign tasks directly to my teammates, it keeps everyone aligned and accountable without the nagging and follow ups. It keeps the thread in one place for the task.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only challenge I’ve run into is with recurring tasks. When I complete one, the next one often carries over content from the previous task. Instead of starting fresh, I end up with clutter or outdated notes that I have to manually clean up. It would be amazing if each recurring task could open as a clean slate, or at least give the option to reset it, so it feels truly new each time. But honestly, it’s a small tradeoff for everything else it empowers me to do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps me stay organized without feeling overwhelmed. I used to have tasks and ideas scattered everywhere (notes apps, emails, random Slack messages) but now everything lives in one place.

It makes it super easy to keep track of what I need to do, what’s coming up, and what I can ignore for now. I love that I can set due dates way in the future and forget about it until it pops back up when it matters.

It also makes working with my team smoother. Assigning tasks, adding context, following up, it’s all built in one thread/task, so nothing gets lost or forgotten. Honestly, it just helps me feel more on top of things without needing to stress or overthink it.

Great product but limited

  • June 26, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is highly flexible and technical, allowing for powerful automation rules that streamline workflows. I really appreciate the addition of new custom fields, which enhance tracking and reporting. It's easy to stay organized by working within your own projects, and the ability to build customized intake forms is especially useful for managing requests.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Asana offers a high level of customization, there are still limitations with automation rules, field creation, and workflow flexibility. As a power user, I’ve often found myself hitting certain ceilings. Additionally, if your internal IT team enforces restrictions, there’s little you can do to work around them. Another drawback is that projects tend to operate in silos—it would be helpful to have a simpler, centralized folder or hierarchy system to easily view and manage cross-team work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana allows me to create a structured workflow that integrates forms, custom fields, and automation rules—giving me full control over the Marketing Operations (MOPs) process. It also enables me to build a project setup that’s tailored to my specific goals and how I visualize the work, which greatly improves efficiency and clarity.

Additionally, Asana makes it easy to collaborate with team members. Everyone can stay aligned through shared tasks, comments, and updates in real time, which helps reduce miscommunication and keeps projects moving forward smoothly.

Overall great project management service but has it's flaws

  • June 26, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility and robust functionality of the service. It does a lot and can be customized heavily to suite your needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few things that I think should be supported but are not possible yet. However, by FAR the biggest problem is the Android app. It's SO SO BUGGY and it's been that way for years. I've had dozens of conversations with support about it and despite continual assurances that it's been fixed, it's still so buggy. My full list of tasks sometimes won't load, sometimes it's SUPER slow, sometimes it takes 10+ seconds to register that I clicked on something, many times it crashes, etc. It's strange because the iOS app, Windows app, and web version all work great. I was eventually told by support that their Android app needs to be rebuilt or something and that it wasn't planned in the coming future so it could take into the years to fix it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keep all of our projects and teams organized, with each project having it's own custom configuration that best suites it's unique aspects.

A great program for smart planning

  • June 25, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using it for 2 months and can no longer imagine working without this app. It helps me organize, plan, execute, and keep track of deadlines. I have several projects, some quite complex, and Asana works perfectly. For one project (content planning on social media), I work in a team of two. Communication is fast and clear. Advantages: templates, custom fields, multiple sorting options, various task views (list, board, timeline, calendar, etc.), tags, advanced search, AI assistance, and many more. It is easy to learn and use.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no subscription for a single user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana solves the problem of disorganized project management by helping plan, assign, and track tasks efficiently. It offers multiple views and save time. For me, it improves team collaboration and keeps projects on schedule. Asana makes managing projects easier and more transparent. I use it for work and personal projects.
