Seamless integration and diverse management tools make operations efficient
What is our primary use case?
The team has already finalized the tool because the decision-makers are other teams and they have already onboarded some other tools for the patching.
For me, that is out of the box, as I'm not the right person to make their decisions. At the same time, I moved to another department, the application support team, which I'm currently supporting some applications.
In my use of Office 365, we have many different domains: exchange is different, Intune is different, Azure AD is different, and applications and services are different. I worked with the exchange Microsoft 365 exchange and then I worked with the defender with security, managing those defender things.
I also worked with the Intune team to manage the MDM deployment. Then I collaborated with the DevOps department to manage all those Kubernetes and DevOps and pipelines, checking the services. I was a middleman, checking everything, collaborating with all other departments.
This is where in Office 365 I worked around with them for 3 years.
What is most valuable?
For me, the most valuable features of Office 365 include eDiscovery, LDP, the security defender, the exchange, and many more.
If I can list it down, it would be a long list. Overall, it's really good. The management tools we have, such as device management tools, email management tools, and security management tools, every aspect is there. If we require any tools, we have them.
What needs improvement?
There is room for improvement in the exchange feature of Office 365. Sometimes users reach their emails quota; for example, if users receive a lot of emails and their quota has reached, they are not able to receive any more emails.
There is an archive service that Microsoft limits to 1 GB per day. This is a challenge currently faced by users. The migration part is also a bit tricky, especially from tenant to tenant or from third-party tools to Office 365, which relies on third-party tools to do the job. Improvements need to be made in this area.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used Office 365 for 3 years.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
The deployment of Office 365 depends on the organization requirements. We can deploy it on the cloud for the exchange, but for some device management and from the user perspective, if the organization has on-premises servers, we can integrate it. If not, we can go for the cloud.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I would rate the stability of Office 365 ten out of ten. We do have some outages, but they are worldwide outages that happen very rarely.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The scalability of Office 365 is great, so I would rate it nine or ten out of ten. There are scenarios where we want to increase resources without affecting the current workflow, and it is feasible. It is very scalable.
How are customer service and support?
Technical support from Microsoft really needs to improve because sometimes we have cases that drag on for months. I would rate it six or five out of ten.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I haven't used any different solutions before Office 365. In the earlier days, about 7 or 8 years ago, we used some exchange servers that were locally set up, and users were creating emails there in local AD servers.
After that, we moved to Office 365.
How was the initial setup?
It is very easy. They have all the documentation we need; we can just Google it or simply download it from the Microsoft sites. It's very easy.
What other advice do I have?
We are just a consumer. We do directly deal with Microsoft, but we have some vendors here in UAE who provide us all the solutions from Microsoft if we need them. For example, if we need our Office 365 licenses, if we need E5, E3, or whatever licenses we require, we have to have a vendor here in UAE, and they provide us with all the requirements.
In our company we have our own IT team for everything; we have a department for that. We are an MNC company operating in about 80 countries. They have very good staff, and because the main HQ is in UAE, the IT HQ manages everything from there.
It's more than 10,000 people using Office 365 in our organization, but I'm not sure about the exact number of staff we have.
I would rate Office 365 overall at eight out of ten.

Collaboration and communication improve with seamless integration
What is our primary use case?
I mostly work with AWS. My team is working on bespoke applications and we're deploying it on AWS Kubernetes, mostly with EKS services. That's my scope at this time.
I have been working with Office 365 for three years. I mainly use Office 365 for collaboration and communication, mostly using SharePoint, MS Teams, and email.
I'm using Office 365 for collaboration and communication. Microsoft Teams is the most useful feature of Office 365 for me.
What is most valuable?
Microsoft Teams is the most useful feature of Office 365 for me. Since we are using a cloud base, for stability, I can rate it 8, because there are some performance issues and outages I've encountered. From my experience, in my environment, we are using mostly the Microsoft Office suite, MS Word, PowerPoint, and everything.
I think there's more advantage in using Office 365 compared to Google or AWS collaboration tools if you are using Microsoft in your productivity tools, due to the seamless integration. Office 365 does support my remote and hybrid workforce collaboration needs.
What needs improvement?
Based on my experience as a user, I think we are going into full integration with the Copilot, so hopefully this will improve functionality, but I haven't used it yet. I'm expecting more from the full integration with the Copilot for more automation.
In the future, it would be great to see full integration with the Copilot.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with Office 365 for three years.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
From my user point of view, the initial setup and deployment process for Office 365 is seamless to the users.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Since we are using a cloud base, for stability, I can rate it 8, because there are some performance issues and outages I've encountered.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I think it's scalable, as long as you pay.
How are customer service and support?
I'm not raising support, as it will be handled by another team, not on the user side.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I currently am no longer working with SAP in the past two years, as I moved to another area already, which was about three years ago.
How was the initial setup?
From my user point of view, the initial setup and deployment process for Office 365 is seamless to the users.
What about the implementation team?
I'm not raising support, as it will be handled by another team, not on the user side.
What was our ROI?
I think Office 365 is more beneficial for medium to enterprise company sizes, while small companies may not find it as beneficial.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
For pricing, I think it's fairly priced, I would rate it 8.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I think there's more advantage in using Office 365 compared to Google or AWS collaboration tools if you are using Microsoft in your productivity tools, due to the seamless integration.
What other advice do I have?
I don't want to publish my review on the PeerSpot platform in public, as much as possible. I'm okay with providing only my feedback without any personal details.
For my final points for Office 365, I would rate it an 8.

24/7 monitoring enhances threat detection and ensures security
What is our primary use case?
My cybersecurity strategy primarily involves using CrowdStrike Falcon as an EDR solution, and currently, we are using it as an EDR. We are in discussion with the CrowdStrike team about having a managed SOC integrated as well.
I am using CrowdStrike Falcon in the online industry.
What is most valuable?
The most effective feature I find for threat detection is the 24/7 managed monitoring, which is a next-gen antivirus and next-gen Endpoint Detection and Response. In Endpoint Detection and Response, the best part is 24/7, 365 continuous monitoring to the endpoint for identifying any suspicious activity.
It is a next-gen AV which does AI-based behavioral analysis to detect and take action on malware, ransomware, and other threats.
The automated response capabilities in CrowdStrike Falcon perform analysis based on the behavior of the activity. If it finds objectionable content or breaking of sitemaps, it uses an untraditional approach to block it. When suspicious activity occurs, such as detecting a file with a document extension that is self-replicating, the detection happens automatically. In cases of zero-day threats, such files are automatically put in sandbox for extraction and analysis to identify why it is classified as malware.
Falcon's integration capabilities with other tools enhance my security posture because it has a very lightweight agent, and having a unified console gives us complete visibility, including endpoints, servers, containers, and cloud workloads.
What needs improvement?
To improve CrowdStrike Falcon for the next release, I recommend that they should have a model where it works as an agentless solution. In terms of everything which agent pushes to the server or to the single console, if it could also have a feature where you can have other ports, which is SNMP or your network devices or OT devices, which you can specifically monitor, that would be great.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with CrowdStrike Falcon for more than 2 years now.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
Regarding the setup, in my experience and our team's experience, it is fairly easy to install.
I would rate the setup an eight because we have a heterogeneous environment. For Windows, it is very straightforward and easy. For Linux, you need to automate it. If you have a bulk force, then you have to use some CMF or similar solution, which makes it a bit more complex, but overall it is fairly easy.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
During these 2 years with CrowdStrike Falcon, I faced challenges, as everybody knows about the CrowdStrike outage. That was one significant issue, as it brought many Windows-related services to a halt due to one bad configuration push from CrowdStrike tracks.
Regarding stability, except for the incidents mentioned, I don't see any issues.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
For scalability, it is easy to scale this solution for my company needs, and I would rate it a nine.
More than 7,000 users are working with CrowdStrike Falcon in my company.
Currently, we are 100% covered with CrowdStrike Falcon, but as the user base increases, we will certainly increase the license.
How are customer service and support?
I have contacted CrowdStrike for support regarding the same incident, and my experience was pretty bad. There were people not knowing what was happening, how to mitigate it, or what to do. We were in a bad situation. After a couple of hours, their communication started flowing better, and things started improving.
My impression of the technical support of CrowdStrike, just for that particular instance, is less than four.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have evaluated other options before working with CrowdStrike, including Carbon Black and SentinelOne.
When comparing CrowdStrike and SentinelOne, I don't see many advantages, but because of one particular problem, we had to give away SentinelOne. Otherwise, all three products are quite comparable.
How was the initial setup?
Overall, it is a user-friendly tool.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
CrowdStrike Falcon is definitely an expensive solution.
What other advice do I have?
Since implementing CrowdStrike Falcon, I would say if it is protecting my environment, that fulfills my expectation. So far, I am happy.
For those who would to use CrowdStrike Falcon, I recommend that they need to negotiate hard on commercials because it is not an easy or affordable solution. From a commercial standpoint, they should negotiate hard. Technically, it is not a very difficult tool.
If we had not experienced that outage, I probably would have rated it ten. That incident gave it a very bad name because the support was inadequate. Many people might have decided to move out of CrowdStrike because of that incident.
My total rating for CrowdStrike Falcon is eight.
Current platform faces challenges with performance and automatic updates while offering opportunities for development and communication
What is our primary use case?
I use Office 365 daily, but my satisfaction compared with the older version is not very good.
We use Teams for communication, Outlook for email, and the full set from Microsoft Office.
AI with Office 365 is useful for programming, and sometimes for reporting and creating emails, which is easier.
What is most valuable?
It helps me with my remote or hybrid workforce collaboration, but I prefer the desktop version, not the web.
It's hard to say what features are most valuable. In comparison with the old version, Office 365 is bigger and needs more resources, making it slower than before, so I don't see many benefits.
What needs improvement?
The automatic updates are problematic because I come to work and find some things different than they were yesterday, which is not a very good idea.
The stability for Office 365 is not very good, as the application sometimes closes without any information; the old version was much more stable.
The scalability can be complicated because it depends on Microsoft's policy for licensing, and it's expandable, but very complicated.
The pricing for Office 365 is higher now because my previous calculation for the box version or standard version with installation and lifetime support was easier and cheaper, and when we use one version for more than three years, it compares unfavorably with Microsoft's license policy.
In general, Office 365 is good, but I feel that it is becoming more of a huge software with many functions that are preferred at this time; after a few years, nobody knows what this technology was.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with Office 365 for three years.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
The setup process for Office 365 is easy because we have predefined mirrors of the installation system allowing us to complete installation at once, including the operating system, application, and Office 365. This is by our configuration, but normal installation is a problem for me because we use both Czech language version and English version, and I have preinstalled assistance for every language. It's huge and selects a lot of resources from the computer, which is not very good.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability for Office 365 is not very good, as the application sometimes closes without any information; the old version was much more stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The scalability can be complicated because it depends on Microsoft's policy for licensing, and it's expandable, but very complicated.
How are customer service and support?
We don't use direct technical support from Microsoft because it was very complicated; the most useful solutions for us come from Google or other things, not directly from Microsoft.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Negative
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We use the old system from Infor, the XPPS and Xpert.
I'm not using M3; it's an enterprise system for automotive mostly based on IBM iSeries 400 computers, not Windows system, and we have used it for more than 20 years. We were satisfied, but the systems become obsolete in the last years, so we are looking for new possibilities.
How was the initial setup?
The setup process for Office 365 is easy because we have predefined mirrors of the installation system allowing us to complete installation at once, including the operating system, application, and Office 365. This is by our configuration, but normal installation is a problem for me because we use both Czech language version and English version, and I have preinstalled assistance for every language. It's huge and selects a lot of resources from the computer, which is not very good.
What about the implementation team?
I am using AI technology with Office 365; this is a separate team that is growing and learning more and more about all technologies such as Microsoft Copilot, and it's improving every day.
What was our ROI?
It's integrated with my system because it's an old ERP system, so that's also the point where we are looking for new functionality.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing for Office 365 is higher now because my previous calculation for the box version or standard version with installation and lifetime support was easier and cheaper, and when we use one version for more than three years, it compares unfavorably with Microsoft's license policy.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
As Microsoft Office becomes the most used standard, it's necessary to use it even if maybe other solutions could be easier and cheaper for implementation.
What other advice do I have?
I don't have any additional features I would like to see in Office right now.
For the current version of Office 365, I rate it 2.5 out of 5; it's not bad, but there are many points for improvement.
I am just a Microsoft user, not a partner.
It would be fine for my opinion about Office to be with my name as personal feedback without my company name or contact details, just my personal name.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Collaboration features prove valuable amidst minor iOS app challenges
What is our primary use case?
I am currently using the Enterprise version of Office 365. I'm a corporate user and use it for my own company. I usually use Office 365 for Teams, mostly, and my emails run through Outlook as well. I use Planner within Teams a lot, specifically Planner and Calendar.
How has it helped my organization?
OneDrive has proven most beneficial for collaboration in my team in particular. We have just recently started using OneDrive for this. It has been impactful, but I don't think we've fully utilized it to notice that sort of an impact.
What is most valuable?
I use OneDrive extensively. I find OneDrive valuable because I'm able to have all my documents in one place and I can access them from anywhere.
What needs improvement?
Certain features such as the Planner and dashboards don't work as efficiently with the iPad version, the iOS version. On the iOS version, it's a little glitchy. On iOS if I want to access my Planner, I have to go to the browser and access it, which is very inconvenient. I hope that they improve that part and make the iOS app self-sufficient. The main challenge is its compatibility with iOS.
For how long have I used the solution?
It's been one and a half years. Before that, we were using Google.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
The setup of Office 365 rates around six out of ten in terms of ease. I rate it as six because while it isn't particularly difficult, there are many components within Office 365 to set up. It takes considerable time and requires someone dedicated to do it.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I would rate the stability of Office 365 as eight out of ten. Overall, it's been pretty good.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Office 365 is pretty scalable because you can keep adding users. All employees in my company are using Office 365, which amounts to around 300 users. I have plans to increase the usage of Office 365 in the future. The scalability allows me to do that.
How are customer service and support?
Technical support for Office 365 is pretty good. I would rate them seven out of ten. The only concern is that sometimes the response time is a little slow.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We decided to switch from Google Workspace to Office 365 because traditionally everyone uses Excel and Word instead of Docs and Sheets. It's good to have everything integrated on one platform. It was just a choice between Google Workspace and Office 365, or before that, Office.
How was the initial setup?
We decided to switch from Google Workspace to Office 365 because traditionally everyone uses Excel and Word instead of Docs and Sheets. It's good to have everything integrated on one platform.
What about the implementation team?
I participated only by giving the approval. My IT team handled the implementation.
What was our ROI?
I haven't seen any return on investment as of now.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I think the pricing of Office 365 is four. It is on the less expensive side, but it is not very cheap. The cost increases as you keep adding users.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
The price is somewhat justified. However, beyond Office, there are other products. Some basic products should be included in the package, with an option to choose from one or two products to include.
What other advice do I have?
The security features of Office 365 meet my company's data protection needs. With their dual verification, dual authentication and authenticator, it's pretty good. The implementation took approximately 15 days. Based on my experience, I rate Office 365 eight out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Boost in productivity and seamless integration enable work efficiency
What is our primary use case?
My current use cases for Office 365 include normal Excel, Word, Exchange, and security.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable features in Office 365 for me are productivity, as all my productivity requirements are fulfilled, and communication capabilities.
The main measurable benefit that Office 365 provides to my company is that it serves as our primary productivity tool.
What needs improvement?
I am not satisfied with the integration capabilities of Office 365, as we have not done any integration with third-party vendors.
I would like to see more AI tools in the next version of Office.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with Office 365 for more than 10 years.
How are customer service and support?
I rate the technical support from Microsoft as seven out of ten, and I have feedback regarding their tech support.
I would like to improve the quality of services provided by technical support.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
The main competitor for Office 365 is Google, as I have used some of their solutions.
I prefer to work with Microsoft over Google.
What other advice do I have?
I only use Microsoft 365 products and do not use other products from Microsoft such as Visual Studio.
I sometimes use AI options in Office such as OpenAI or Copilot.
It doesn't matter what the company size is.
I can recommend Office 365 to other users.
I rate Office 365 an eight out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Collaborative tools empower remote teamwork despite minor integration challenges
What is our primary use case?
My use case for Office 365 nowadays is collaboration generally, specifically for emails, SharePoint, and OneDrive, as I collaborate with my team.
Having Teams as my central workspace, especially while working remotely, is essential.
What is most valuable?
Teams is the most productive feature out of everything in Office 365, thanks to the combination of chat with meetings and centralized file sharing, along with the ability to embed other applications within Microsoft Teams.
Personally, I now build solutions, which reflects how my role has changed. I build solutions that I'll be launching out soon.
Currently, it's majorly around the use of productivity tools, such as Office 365 and the similar tools, including Teams, Teams Planner, and Power Automate.
What needs improvement?
Based on my experience, I think Microsoft could improve the onboarding process for Office 365, particularly for end users who are not as technical, by providing more technical onboarding similar to what was done in the past with labs or demos that showcased capabilities.
There's much less video content now; it's more marketing content than technical content, which is not ideal for an end user.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with Office 365 since 2014.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
The setup process for Office 365 is simple; it's definitely simple.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability for Office 365 is around a seven or eight.
It could be more stable, especially when doing co-authoring; applications may freeze or changes may not get reflected quickly enough on the remote end.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The scalability for Office 365 rates as an eight or nine; it's pretty much up there.
I can use Office 365 for businesses with over 2,000 users as well as for businesses with only five users, so the experience is consistent across the board.
How are customer service and support?
I've rated Microsoft technical support a seven; they don't necessarily get all the answers, but they do refer when answers are not available.
The quality of support remains at a seven.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
What other advice do I have?
I'm working with VMware solutions that haven't really changed from what I was making use of previously, so it's still pretty much the same thing. I'm also looking to get more in depth with Nutanix and its solution, majorly from a price comparison perspective.
I'm using a Cloud-based deployment model for Office 365.
I'd rate the pricing for Microsoft as a five.
I'm not using any AI integration with Office 365 at the moment.
I think Microsoft does a very good job with integration compared to other vendors, although I don't use their products as much as others, and I acknowledge that Google is improving on their identity security.
Overall, I'd give Office 365 a mark of eight.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Effective data analysis and efficient task automation
What is our primary use case?
Excel and PowerPoint are part of Office 365, which I constantly use.
I have been working with Excel and PowerPoint for the last three years or so, since my studies started, while simultaneously working as a working student or as an intern, using them permanently during my lectures.
What is most valuable?
The ChatGPT add-in that is accessible now for Excel is one of the most helpful features of Office 365 because it gives you the opportunity to process a lot of data in a really short time.
I use the ChatGPT add-in to process a lot of data quickly within Excel.
I have the ChatGPT add-in directly in Excel. I used the API in my previous position as a working student in a company that had a lot of data to be processed, and I was working with the ChatGPT add-in to process it correctly.
What needs improvement?
The user interface of PowerPoint could be improved in future updates to make it easier to find features via search, because sometimes it's difficult to locate certain applications as the buttons are too small.
Regarding Excel processing a lot of data, I'm currently working with an Excel sheet that has approximately 10,000 lines, and I really see it struggling to process due to the many functions it contains, leading to downtime and loading problems.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Office 365 for the last three years.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
I don't have any experience with the initial setup because Office 365 applications were already pre-installed on all the devices that I was using.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It experiences issues only with high volume and numerous functions in the tables that we're using.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It's reasonable because with the Office 365 setup, you have access to a lot of devices and applications, especially when utilizing process automation tools such as Power Automate, making it reasonable in price.
How are customer service and support?
I have never directly contacted Microsoft regarding Office 365 because I didn't really need to, as any issues were just on my side.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I was working in a former position with Hotspots where I used some automation tools to make processes more automated.
How was the initial setup?
I don't have any experience with the initial setup because Office 365 applications were already pre-installed on all the devices that I was using.
What other advice do I have?
I'm currently working with the whole Microsoft setup, which includes tools such as Windows 10, Office 365, and Zoom.
I mainly use Excel and PowerPoint within Office 365.
I did some data analysis while working in strategic procurement of a company and in data management of another company while using Excel and PowerPoint.
I'm currently not working with any advanced features such as automation in Excel or SharePoint workflows, but I was using some automation tools in a former position.
I understand that Excel has to process a lot of data and, especially when working with AI, there could be downtimes.
I would rate Office 365 eight out of ten for its functionalities and features.
My email is n.lastname@oth-aw.de for any information needed.
Access to advanced features boosts productivity despite pricing concerns in developing regions
What is our primary use case?
We use Office 365 for business and office productivity, and we appreciate all the functionality because it has SharePoint and meets our requirements. I use OneNote and Visio, so we can order as we require it. The big advantage is that whatever features you want you can select, and whatever you don't want you don't select.
What is most valuable?
The features of Office 365 that I find most impactful for improving productivity include OneDrive, so all our cloud data is there. Everything is backed up and always available, and if there is a maintenance issue, we receive good notice. It has everything one would need to run a modern office, providing every solution we require.
The collaboration tools in Office 365 enhance my team's workflow immeasurably, and they are absolutely top class.
What needs improvement?
In terms of disadvantages in Office 365, the cost is something some people complain about because I live in South Africa and it is quoted in dollars. By the time we exchange for our weak currency, it becomes quite expensive, but other than cost, there is nothing I would complain about. The product itself is absolutely superb, and while many companies in South Africa run Google because it is cheaper, cost remains a factor here. Microsoft does not give territorial pricing relative to exchange rates, unlike many other companies.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Office 365 for 5 years.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
The deployment of Office 365 was very easy.
I got one of my tech professionals to help with the Office 365 deployment, and he did not encounter any problems.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
For stability, I would rate Office 365 as a 10.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I think Office 365 is a scalable solution, and I would rate it a 9.
How are customer service and support?
For technical support, I would give them a rating of 10.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
How was the initial setup?
It took a couple of minutes to set up Office 365, just registering, putting in the card details, and setting up the users, but it was very quick, about 30 minutes.
What about the implementation team?
I got one of my tech professionals to help with the Office 365 deployment, and he did not encounter any problems.
What was our ROI?
Regarding cost savings or return on investment after implementing Office 365, although there is an initial or monthly cost and we could do it annually, we choose to do it monthly. We find that the ROI is significant. We get the latest and greatest features, and today with Copilot and some of the really big advantages that they did not have a year ago, it has made a huge difference. We use Copilot in Excel quite extensively and not as much in Word because we are more of an analytics company. With ChatGPT, we are able to ask for solutions in Excel or PowerPoint, and the integration is great.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
In terms of extra expenses with Office 365, it depends on what you order. It is not Microsoft's fault; for example, I was in the UK and saw that paying $20 is no problem there, but paying that here equates to 400 of my currency, which makes the price steep sometimes. If I am paying for a Power BI Pro license at $20, costing me 400 Rand, that is a frontline tool, which is not expensive considering the work we produce. However, Office 365 can be on the pricy side if you start trying to access all of the functionalities.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I did look for some alternatives to Office 365 because some team members enjoy using Google Docs to assist their analytics work. But ultimately, we are very much a Microsoft shop.
What other advice do I have?
I need to do maintenance for Office 365 very seldom, once a year. In the maintenance process for Office 365, we have about 12 people involved.
For the maintenance side of Office 365, only one person is involved.
Looking at Office 365's pricing, I would give it a 4 on a scale from 1 to 10.
My overall rating for Office 365 is an 8 out of 10, but for the product itself, I would give it a 10.
I would definitely recommend Office 365 to other businesses, probably a 9 out of 10 for recommendation. This is only because of its price and the fact that they do not take into account developing countries such as South Africa, where they should give us more favorable prices or local prices.
We do not have a partnership with Microsoft, which is a sore point for us. We have reached out to Microsoft South Africa, and they are very hard to contact and largely uncooperative. We are a B-Level 2 and a B-Level 1, which are local affirmative action ratings that companies get. Level 1 is the highest, and Level 8 is the lowest. We hold amongst the highest BEE ratings, but we have not found Microsoft South Africa to be forthcoming or very open. We should have a partnership with them, and we run Power BI as we are a Power BI shop now.
I strongly would want to see a box within Office 365 for our team to have ChatGPT through OpenAI as well. We use Excel as a data source for many tasks and find that it integrates really well with Python. We write a lot of Python code and use Excel as a data sheet many times, and we operate through SQL and other zero elements as well. From an Office 365 viewpoint, we find that with Copilot and Python and Excel's provision for Python, it is very useful.
