Seamless integration and simplified document sharing enhance productivity

  • April 25, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

As a product manager, my primary use cases are PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and spreadsheets. We use SharePoint effectively to share all documents, and it makes integration very easy with email clients. We use Teams primarily for video conferencing.

What is most valuable?

Office 365 has good integration and a more pleasant and organized user interface compared to Box. It feels like an extension of my computer, making it easier for organizing. As a product manager, my primary use cases are PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and spreadsheets. It simplifies sharing information.

What needs improvement?

When sharing documents, having a feature similar to a Box note would allow quick jotting down of ideas without the need for structured and aesthetically pleasing formats, making it easier to share thoughts promptly.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Office 365 for about three or four years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Office 365 is stable, though Teams sometimes has network issues, with the connection being problematic about five percent of the time.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Office 365 is available for 300,000 employees, indicating it is scalable.

How are customer service and support?

I have not needed to contact customer support, which is a positive indicator.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I am a user of Office 365 and not involved in its procurement. It is paid for by IBM.

What other advice do I have?

As a user of Office 365, my advice would be to consider it for its strong integration and organized interface. I rate this product a nine.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Seamless collaboration and integration enhance productivity with cloud applications

  • April 24, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I primarily use Office 365 for creating Word documents. We also utilize its cloud-based functionalities, such as SharePoint for document management.

What is most valuable?

I use Office 365 extensively, particularly for Word documents. One of its strengths is the integration with SharePoint and other applications like Teams, which allows for seamless communication and file sharing. The integration capability is strong as it links various applications such as the calendar and email functions, making it useful for our organization.

What needs improvement?

I wish Project could be more integrated into Office 365, as it currently requires a separate license.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Office 365 for a couple of years, approximately two or three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate the stability of Office 365 as eight out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would rate the scalability of Office 365 as ten out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

I do not have direct experience with Microsoft support because, according to company rules, I report issues to our internal help desk. If they cannot resolve it, they will contact support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used cloud solutions related to my former work with Amazon products. But I quit using clouds as my job no longer relates to this.

How was the initial setup?

We have an IT department that handles the initial setup. We receive our accounts and access to the applications according to our roles.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I cannot provide an estimate on pricing or setup costs, as these are handled at a group level.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I can compare Office 365 with solutions like Open Office, which may be cheaper. However, it doesn't meet the required capabilities that we need. While Open Office is free, it lacks necessary functionalities.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, I rate Office 365 a nine out of ten. It does a good job with most of the required applications, although I wish Project was seamlessly integrated into Office 365 as part of the base package.

Hybrid Cloud

AI features boost productivity but discovering Excel functionalities poses challenges

  • April 24, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use Microsoft 365 for the office package and Teams for calls and meetings. With Microsoft 365, I use applications like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

What is most valuable?

The most helpful feature I find in Microsoft 365 is the use of AI features, like Copilot, which allows for creating PowerPoint presentations through AI. It can increase efficiency, for instance, by enabling automated summaries in Word documents for different roles. This provides significant time savings and boosts productivity overall.

What needs improvement?

There could be an easier way to find features in Excel. For example, implementing formulas could be made simpler by improving feature discoverability.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Microsoft 365 for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Sometimes with Excel, if different Excel files are related and access to one is unavailable, the Excel file in use may collapse. This means some data cannot be seen, which is a stability issue.

How are customer service and support?

I have never contacted Microsoft's support because my company's IT team handles any issues I face.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I only work with Microsoft tools.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Microsoft 365 a seven out of ten. I would rate Office 365 a seven out of ten.

Utilize task management through tagging and integration for improved collaboration

  • April 23, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We have been using Office 365 more as a collaboration and communication tool. My team and I utilize Office 365 and its sub-products for elements of task management such as planning, the planner feature, the risk board, time card, time off, calendars, and other related features.

What is most valuable?

We have been using Office 365 for tagging critical communications and building communities of practice and centers of excellence. The main feature we use is tagging, which provides notifications and reminders. By creating labels, we can identify tasks with customized labels for project phases, which aids in visualization and reporting. Integrating Outlook with Planner and Teams channels has been beneficial as well.

What needs improvement?

It would be helpful if Office 365 integrated Copilot or more AI capabilities to provide proactive notifications. For task management, AI could offer insights and early indications of overdue tasks by analyzing activity updates. These features could improve intelligence and assistance for users.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Office 365 for close to three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We have no complaints about the stability of Office 365.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Office 365 is scalable in terms of numbers because it can easily handle multiple projects onboarding, warranting a ten out of ten rating. However, in terms of adapting to changing project scopes, it is somewhat restrictive, which would rate around six out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

The support provided by Microsoft for Office 365 is generally good. Although there had been some delays, no major complaints arose from these experiences.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before using Office 365, we used Confluence, Atlassian tools, and Google tools like Slack and Google Messages. While both Office 365 and Google have their strengths and weaknesses, the seamless experience with Office 365 stands out.

How was the initial setup?

Setting up Office 365 is easy. I would rate it a nine out of ten in terms of simplicity and user-friendliness.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Office 365 is costly for individuals and small businesses. However, for larger user bases with bulk offerings, the price becomes more reasonable.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before using Office 365, I evaluated Confluence, Atlassian tools, Google tools like Slack, and Google Messages.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend going ahead and using Office 365. It is fast, easy to navigate, and does not require technical expertise to operate. The user-friendliness and experience are both great. I rate the overall solution a nine out of ten.

Collaboration benefits and cost-saving features have enhanced productivity

  • April 22, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use Office 365 for numerous purposes. I work with technology and various other industries and sectors. In my work, Office 365 is used for many things, especially for collaboration, whether within teams or across different sectors.

What is most valuable?

Office 365 is very easy to use and it's fast, with functionalities that allow for seamless simulations. The collaboration features, especially when working with technology sectors, are highly useful. The ability to utilize the transcription solution embedded in Office is particularly beneficial, as it negates the need to pay for an external transcription platform, offering great return on investment.

What needs improvement?

Office 365 should be easier to integrate with other platforms, similar to Google Sheets. The APIs should allow for easier use across platforms. Additionally, Microsoft's sharing capabilities are more restricted compared to Google, and OneDrive is limited in terms of space and functionality for document management and conversion.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used Office 365 for a long time, since its inception, approximately seventeen years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability of Office 365 is excellent. I have no concerns regarding its stability in use.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Office 365 offers straightforward scalability. In our company and with another customer, it scales easily. Overall, I find the scalability very satisfactory.

How are customer service and support?

Although I have never personally used Microsoft support, the information availability is crucial. I find every issue or question has been easily resolved by searching the internet, indicating strong support resources.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

Setting up Office 365 is very easy.

What was our ROI?

The return on investment with Office 365 is quite good, especially with the transcription solution embedded in the product. When compared to the cost of using transcription features on another platform, Office 365 offers significant savings, essentially paying for itself within a short period.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

In Brazil, the pricing of Office 365 is reasonable given the plethora of features offered. Although it can be expensive compared to other solutions, the continuous upgrading and enhancement justify the cost. The price is acceptable, although it could be less.

What other advice do I have?

When comparing collaboration features, Google is often more user-friendly, particularly in terms of ease of use, change visibility, and sharing. Microsoft Office is good but is restrictive in sharing capabilities and integration with platforms like Drive. Overall, I love Office 365 and rate it nine out of ten; it's a very good solution.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

Mobility and document sharing have improved accessibility and efficiency across devices

  • April 22, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I mainly use Office 365 for documentation, such as creating Word documents, Excel sheets, or PowerPoint presentations. These are the primary applications I utilize.

How has it helped my organization?

If I am on my phone or laptop, the document is available on both devices. This mobility is advantageous since earlier we had to send documents, but now if I save it in OneDrive, they are readily available.

What is most valuable?

Office 365 allows me to share documents easily with team members, which is more efficient compared to the older frameworks. Word, PowerPoint, and Excel are still very comprehensive and flexible. These tools remain powerful, and no other platform has reached this level yet.

What needs improvement?

Office 365 tools work very well on Windows, but there is still some lag when using Mac computers. Sometimes, attachments cannot be opened on a Mac. The seamless integration seen on Windows is not there on Mac, so there is scope for improvement in optimizing support on Mac computers.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Office 365 for the last five or six years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

As a user, the deployment was very straightforward for me. It was a quick 10-minute process.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Overall, the stability of Office 365 is high. I would rate it a nine out of ten, although the lack of support on Mac can still interfere occasionally.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate Office 365's scalability as an eight. However, there have been instances on Mac where the auto-save function did not work when my machine restarted, indicating an area where scalability did not assist.

How are customer service and support?

I have not interacted with the technical support of Office 365.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Previously, we used Word and PowerPoint installed locally on the machines separately. Our company decided to switch to Office 365 for centralized management by Microsoft.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was very easy, especially since it is a SaaS solution. I would rate it an eight or nine.

What about the implementation team?

In our office, Office 365 is available in the App Store. It was a plug-and-play setup, and installation was managed by Microsoft's centralized system.

What was our ROI?

The mobility feature of Office 365 has provided value, as documents are accessible on multiple devices like phones and laptops. Saving documents in OneDrive makes them easily available.

What other advice do I have?

Content is available on various devices through OneDrive, facilitating document accessibility on the go. I rate Office 365 a nine out of ten overall.

  • April 22, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I have been working with the full Office 365 suite, including Excel and PowerPoint. We also have it integrated with Copilot, which I use extensively for various tasks.

What is most valuable?

The design feature of PowerPoint is really effective. The email functionalities are convenient, and the entire suite serves our needs well. I also use automation in Excel and benefit from SharePoint workflows. Additionally, Copilot is integrated with Office 365, which saves me time by allowing quick access to instructions and facilitating the creation of presentations.

What needs improvement?

The search feature in email just doesn't work effectively. If it could be fixed, it would be excellent.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Office 365 for five, six, seven, eight, or nine years.

How are customer service and support?

Microsoft's customer service is really good.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Effective collaboration and report presentation are enhanced with user-friendly tools

  • April 22, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We use Office 365 predominantly for reporting purposes. We extensively utilize Excel and PowerPoint. Excel is used for generating and analyzing reports, while PowerPoint is used to prepare presentations and offer analytical solutions and suggestions.

What is most valuable?

Office 365 has been user-friendly and easy to learn. In case of any new upgrade, it is quite possible to explore. Collaboration tools such as Teams are very useful, especially when managing our projects and gathering feedback from stakeholders. Tools in Teams, such as the app for tracking and following up with stakeholders, are notably useful.

What needs improvement?

There is something called Office Script in Excel, which is not very user-friendly. Many team members find it difficult to apply recorded scripts to similar tasks. More training material or use cases related to Office Script would be helpful to maximize its potential because it has the capability to automate many Excel tasks. Additionally, there is interest in AI integration, particularly Excel and PowerPoint's capabilities, but access to Copilot is limited due to licensing costs.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Office 365 for more than seven or eight years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There have been no stability or performance issues with Office 365. Everything is all good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Office 365 is good, and scaling up or upgrading is easy without any problem.

How are customer service and support?

When it comes to corporate setups, there is an internal IT team available for assistance with technical support, so there is no issue.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I do not want to comment on pricing or experience with licensing, as I never purchase Microsoft products and only use the company's licensed products.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, I would rate Office 365 nine out of ten for the user experience.
