Incredible Technology and White Glove Support

What do you like best about the product?
Incredible technology (secure, simply to implement, consumer friendly) and amazing support from the CTO to Sales to Support team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to see more products that can build off of the tech stack already in place (e.g. eDiscovery, legal holds).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automated integrations with third party vendors/processors of data; automated identity verification for DSARs, webhoooks for JIRA tickets.

What do you like best about the product?
Transcend seamlessly facilitates privacy compliance with GDPR, CCPA, CPRA and other global privacy requirements with a sleek user interface, amazing customer support and a team that is ahead of upcoming regulatory requirements. We have been impressed with the functionality that Transcend offers, the ease of use, the reporting functionality and the willingness of the Transcend customer support team to advise us as business partners.

It is also a tool built for Engineers, which is critical because Engineering will ultimately implement the solution. Without Transcend, privacy compliance would be incredibly challenging and manual for us!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Transcend could be implemented by Legal teams to avoid needing to get development resources internally -- that's my only pain point! I wish Legal could roll this out internally without development support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Transcend automates all of our DSAR requests (access and deletion) and replaced an internal legacy process that we had built in-house in 2018 when GDPR came into effect. We also use their cookie consent capabilities and Do Not Sell/Share functionality to meet CPRA obligations.

What do you like best about the product?
As a developer, they have good documentation and getting started with a base implementation can be done very quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not perfect yet, but they do release updates pretty often.

Excellent Privacy Management Tool

What do you like best about the product?
As a product Transcend is aimed ad privacy pros who want to automate first and make their life seamless and easy. It works with more large SaaS tools too and does many things at once including cookie management, data mapping and SAR automation. You can really mature your privacy programme and save your company money by using these tool. It's been built by people who care about privacy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Transcend does lots of great stuff and the company is building more useful features. There is no objections from my side.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Transcend for everything. Our most favourite module is the DSAR management one. Our teams enjoy automations and spend much less time working on these than before saving them time and use money.

Data Mapping and Cookies must be our second favourites. They give us better understanding and magement over data we already have and give teams the ability to see all data and work with it.

Fantastic service during integration

What do you like best about the product?
During our vendor selection and integration process the team were absolutely brilliant at understanding our needs and managing how best to work with us. Mike showed plenty of flexibility and willingness to work with us for specific purposes.
What do you dislike about the product?
There was initially less UI customisation available than we wanted but this was added in pretty quickly. The concept of data flows is great but could probably do with better explaining early on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our previous consent management tool did an awful job of classifying cookies and the UX was awful. Transcend gives us a lot more out of the box and the reporting and data management within it to see what's going on is far superior. This enables us to make better data driven decisions and plan our policies accordingly.

Great partner in IT / Engineering configuration and setup

What do you like best about the product?
The people we work with at Transcend are great at explaining what needs to happen - both from the technical perspective as well as the functional / user perspective.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't know that I have dislikes, but as we connected various tools and workflows together there was once in a while a gap - from how we expected it to work and how it was built in Transcend. However, this is actually one of their best qualities - we explained how we imagined things working, and they were able to quickly modify the integrations or product to support it! It felt like we had a true partner helping us get set up and working.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Transcend is helping us ensure we're compliant with DSARs and other data privacy concerns. It alerts us of incoming privacy requests as an intake, it validates user data, integrates to various tools to automatically identify or delete references, and alerts us to identify or delete data too.

Super fast implementation + data governance at scale

What do you like best about the product?
Transcend is awesome. We broke a multi-year contract with our prior vendor because they under-delivered. The value we saw from Transcend during the free trial period alone surpassed the progress we had made in months of trying to get our old solution up and running.

30 days after purchasing Transcend we had data mapping + classification running on our 1500+ systems (homegrown and SaaS tools), had a full ROPA ready to go, and had automated our DSR flows. That's insane, and a testament to the strength of their technology and support team.

No we're implementing them for Consent and Do Not Sell management and are fully on board with Transcend for the long run.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's been pretty smooth and the issues we've had have been quickly addressed. For example, we saw they were missing an integration to our HR system, and it turned out the vendor didn't have an API available. Transcend coordinated with the vendor and has gotten the endpoint added.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At a high level they've given. us a single platform for legal and engineering to coordinate and solve privacy and data governance problems together.

Here's the problems they solved for us:

Data mapping: giving us a ton of visibility across our full stack that we didn't have before. They detected personal data in systems that were not even on our legacy "map".

DSR automation: it was so easy to add the systems discovered during data mapping directly to DSR workflows. Their integrations redact, delete, access, and anonymize data directly, which has saved our team tons of time.

Consent management: we're setting this up no so that we're ready for CPRA and other new state laws. What was big for us was that they understand that consent is often a full-stack issue (not just website trackers) and help us use their integrations across our backend to fully honor requests.

Risk assessments: we're set to start using their new assessments tool to manage our DPIAs - love that it's built directly into their data inventory. Makes more sense for us than a separate point solution.

What do you like best about the product?
I really like how easy it is to remove user data from third party systems. If we needed to manage all of the necessary steps to do that ourselves, it would be much harder.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool is delivering what we expect in a very good and easy way, so nothing to add here.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a company that deals with user data, we need to make sure there is a way to process user requests to remove their personal info from our records, and as we have a lot of integrations with third party systems, and it's when Transcend comes to the rescue.

What do you like best about the product?
The team at Transcend has been incredible at supporting us and delivering value.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not something that I directly dislike but a feature that I wish they had was monitoring around opt-outs. Our executive team has asked us in the past if certain design changes in the opt-out flow has a noticeable impact on opt-outs and it would be nice to be able to track in the dashboard especially by certain key demographics (region,language,etc)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The major problem we're solving with Transcend is ensuring compliance with all privacy regulations but specifically personally identifiable information handling compliance. We also use transcend for deletion requests.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to understand how to use the cron implementation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of parameters that can be passed to the Sombra URL. For example, we have a 'cluster' field in the data, being able to filter results on this field would have been useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Maintaining a list of completed/pending compliance requests in one central location acorss all silos is helpful.
