Nice tool, confusing documentation

  • July 07, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Once I got it installed, I like the way it discovered my environment and gave me the capability to map application dependencies. The ROI certainly looks attractive. I would like to have had more time to use it, but the installation took longer than I'd allocated for the entire POC. Once I got a Faddom tech on the phone, we were able to iron out the last few challenges, but that took almost two weeks and put me past my deadline.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation was complicated and often conflicting. One document led me to believe I could use a Faddom-provided AWS CloudFormation template to roll it into a test AWS VPC I set up. Faddom Support later confirmed there is no such template and I had to go back and create the VPC flow logs manually. One set of documentation indicated I should use AWS Traffic Mirror to capture the netflow data needed for dependency mapping. Faddom Support and other documentation later confirmed Traffic Mirror is not supported by Faddom and that I should use VPC Flow Logs. I also ran into some permissions issues with accessing the VPC Flow Logs. I can't say if the delay was because of AWS or because of Faddom, but the changes I made to the permissions didn't seem to propagate to Faddom in a reasonable time period.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
POC was a failure for me so sadly, no problems solved. I am open to revisiting it in the future should my clients have appropriate needs.

One of the best tools I've found out in discovering information across the system.

What do you like best about the product?
It's intuitive ways of finding information. It has a decent number of features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately, it's GIGO. To a beginner, it's not that easy to onboard and as such makes onbaording unattractive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Faddom is assisting with documentation of my IT enterprise. It gives me the exact number of resources which an application shares, and finally assist heavily in cost and instrument optimization.

Insights you can depend on

  • July 04, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Faddom allows your to build a map/view of the services running in your infrastructure with the dependencies that underpin these services.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike, the platform does what is says
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Faddom has build an entire dependency map of all the services running in the data-centres, allowing insights to migrations from old to new and transformation, such as cloud. without the tool it would have taken months to do this. the solution is live, so if a change happens you can see it real-time. Once a migration has been completed Faddom will give insights to the completion, and the new service being live

What do you like best about the product?
It has been providing realtime application mapping. Faddom offers immense value as it enables us to maintain detailed and auditable record or our IT environment, which supports internal governance and external audits.
What do you dislike about the product?
Just the lack of comprehensive visibility across our hybrid cloud and on premises environment, but faddom solved this by giving us continuously updated map of every dependency between servers, services and applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Faddom is exceptional during system migration and and cloud adoption.

fast to deploy and nice to use

What do you like best about the product?
Faddom is a fantastic tool for IT visibility and network mapping. It’s easy to deploy, agentless, and delivers instant insights into application dependencies. The support team is responsive, and the platform is both powerful and cost-effective. Highly recommended for IT teams looking to simplify infrastructure management.
It took no longer than 5 minutes to set up and after another 5 minutes we already had the first data.
What do you dislike about the product?
The dependency map is a bit chaotic, but I already talked to the customer service and maybe there will be an update.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding which software depends on whom and how the servers talk to each other

Faddom first impression

  • June 20, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The product provided visibility to on-prem and cloud instances and the interdependencies quickly. I have not seen another product that does everything this one does and while it was not trivial to get setup, it was not that difficult, and it was worth the effort. I will also say, I have been happy with support. I only started using this about 24 hours ago, but I am very surprised at what this is delivering for us. I am very happy with it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am not seeing MFA options in the tool (may be my oversight), but if they are there it means they were not easy to find/use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The tool is doing several things, but helping discover interdependencies in a legacy environment is at the top of the list.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to implement, the user management once figured out is also nice and easy
What do you dislike about the product?
Found it hard to find out about application mapping, and the Network SMNP V3 discovery isnt picking anything up

We want to try faddom out for our application mapping and what are thr required services based on application as we have inherited a system.
