One of the best monitoring and alerting tools out there

  • March 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Alerts are reported immediately via the tool as the events happen, we are able to see events that other tools cant. It's highly customized to our needs. I cannot do my work effectively without this tool on a daily basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool does not provide a way to adjust SDT's (scheduled downtime) automatically when there are shifts in timezone changes. Twice a year we have to spend an unnecessary amount of time adjusting daily and weekly SDT's on monitored VM's when they need to perform scheduled reboots.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With LogicMonitor, we have been able to detect many underlying problems on our client's Infrastructure they never knew they had.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Switch your current tool for this one without giving it another though. You get a tremendous amount of value for the price. Results guaranteed!

LogicMonitor Review

  • March 16, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility of the platform to meet various monitoring and alerting requirements, such as custom SQL queries or execution of scripts to pull data points, has become a go to in our business operations. Paired with the flexibility of using the solution without requirements of private connectivity to each network or application that we want to monitor, the platform has become the base of all our business critical monitoring. When I see our sales staff using the reports and graphs to make business decisions with our customers, you know you have found solution that matching your business needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
We don't dislike a whole lot and really I think its better stated that we are just waiting for some features to be release rather than dislike something about the platform. Event correlation and dependency mapping are some features we are looking forward to showing up in the system to help drive efficiencies on the alerting side of our operations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
TekLinks originally had 6 separate monitoring solutions trying provide both in house and customer based monitoring and alerting. We use LogicMonitor to consolidate all our internal operations into one central platform as well as establish go to market platform used in our managed services offerings. We have successfully transitioned to LogicMonitor and retired our old systems and provide the platform with all our managed infrastructure and application solutions. By providing the solution in various customer offerings, we are able to show transparency to our customers about our technical operations as well as provide clear lines of feedback about potential growth and needs as businesses evolve.

LogicMonitor

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Cloud based. No onsite infrastructure to maintain outside of the LM hubs. Utilizes standard protocols to monitor infrastructure. As its internet based, setting up hubs outside the corporate network very easy. No VPNs, opening firewalls, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Interface takes a little getting used to but is pretty intuitive after some time in use. Dashboards are a little limited and difficult to get the actual information you want to display. Forecasting needs work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
No onsite infrastructure makes backend support simple. No need to worry about monitoring going down and missing alerts.

Best Decision for Network Monitoring

  • March 13, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- LogicMonitor Team
- Support Responsiveness and ownership
- Cutting edge technology
- Account Management Team interaction
- Great Documentation
- Ability to support most if not all types of different infrastructure
What do you dislike about the product?
- Frequent turn over in Account Management
- Reporting could use some fine-tuning
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As we continue to participate in the enterprise space as an MSP, we found ourselves with software which did not fit the model we needed to provide to our clients. We had a business problem and needed a partner which not only could exceed them but also take ownership of new technologies, methods of monitoring and management, all while keeping the 'customer first' approach in mind.

Not only do we feel valued as a client, we are consistently impressed with LogicMonitor and their dedication in being a leading driver in the Network Monitoring world.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give LogicMonitor and their team a legitimate shot. Ask about roadmap and comparisons to other products in the market to give yourself a level playing field of analysis when making a decision valuable to your business.

Logic monitor for the MSP

  • March 13, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, anywhere web availability.
What do you dislike about the product?
Need to work on the reporting tools, they are a bit limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an MSP, we need to see the whole environment when a problem arrises. Very often the initial reports in a case are symptoms, and the problem lies with a connected technology. Looking at the whole environment as part of the initial triage allows us to get our customers a faster resolution.

LogicMonitor has evolved

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Customer Support is amazing. The moment I don't know how to do something I can reach out and speak to an engineer within 5 minutes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much yet. Slow roll out of new features but not detrimental at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our clients are able to purchase parts when we see they are close to failure. Our clients are able to keep tabs on the outages and alert history to understand their network in depth.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You have nothing to lose by giving them a try. Once you do that . . . you'll most likely be happy you did. There is much positive force to this company and it's product.

Technical Operations Manager

What do you like best about the product?
It is so easy to configure and use, though it can be daunting if you get too deep, too quickly. But the documentation and support will always come to your rescue quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Looking forward to more improvements in Dashboarding and Reporting. Would really like to see a report or feature around asset management.

Also, part of the problem such a full-featured product is that the initial tuning required is extensive to get a handle on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are an MSP. We use LogicMonitor to alert us to issues in customer environments before the customer is aware of them. We have integrated LM into our case management system, allowing us to prioritize our responses and get LM under our Response SLA umbrella. We have begun using it for business intelligence gathering, allowing one client to identify two underperforming locations with rock-solid evidence. They are now slated for closure, which will improve the client's P&L.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look for an MSP that already has it set up, and contract with them. While it's easy to set up, it takes time. There are so many data points per device that take time to master. An MSP has it already mastered, and can further simplify your implementation process. They know what questions to ask, can share war stories and lessons learned, and bring best practices to your environment much more quickly.

Great monitoring platform

  • March 09, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The single best feature is the agentless architecture. It allows us to have a small footprint on our clients and makes deployment very quick. Our on-boarding times dropped substantially once we adopted logic monitor.

As our deployments matured the biggest win has been adaptability. The extensible nature of LM has allowed us to readjust as our needs and products evolve.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some technical choices I don't agree with. For example, using groovy as the default extension language steepens the learning curve since it's not a widely used language. I would of preferred python or ruby. But they do offer alternatives to groovy where possible so it's hasn't really been a blocker for us.

This year they've added tons of new features and there has been some pain in those areas (reporting comes to mind) but nothing that would affect core functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our business depends on proactively identifying problems and reacting to them before they become an outage. LM has delivered on that.

It has also improved customer confidence in our service. Letting customers into the monitoring platform and allowing them to see what we see has straightened the partnership with our clients. Because of the extensible nature and shared vision with our customers we can take their input and recommendations and integrate it into our monitoring package. About half of our custom monitoring has been recommended or requested by clients.

A natural consequence of long term performance data is being able to provide a longer term view of the health of our environment and demonstrate how our engagement has contributed to stability and performance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The learning curve might be a little steep stick with it it's worth it.
