LogicMonitor Is Top Class

  • February 23, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
LogicMonitor comes to the table with all of the bells and whistles I would expect and then some. It has a lot of customization available and lets me extend it to do all sorts of things you would never imagine possible when just doing a demo or using it vanilla.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much to dislike, but it is hard to do mass edits.
Collectors are not inherited to sub folders so you have to set it per folder.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to monitor much more in depth then before.
We can even do self healing or trigger other automation when an alert triggers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great customer service.
The developers are friendly and willing to listen to thought out ideas and complaints.

Best of the best

  • February 11, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Pricing and monitoring capabilities. Nothing can beat a single price for a single device.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing can be too steep until you onboard enough devices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saving time and uneeded messages from person to another 'what's going on with our systems?'

Quick to set up, and enough training on the site to get your hands dirty

  • January 19, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Logic Monitor is really easy to get up and running and start to monitor most common platforms straight away. Also there are ample training courses made available and even qualifications so you can get really in depth knowledge on how to monitor the most complicated of systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
The best part is also the worst, as you will need to complete the training before you will be able to use the more complicated custom datasources for monitoring which would be nice if some of this could be automated by the system moving forward.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use this for our internal on premise infrastructure and cloud applications and as an MSP we also use it to monitor our customers systems also.

Monitoring made easy

  • January 17, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The initial configuration is fairly straight forward. Adding additional nodes to be monitored is very quick and easy which is a winner for me. Agentless monitoring saves a lot of hassle, especially in environments which have grown quickly but lack network/OS management required to enable seemless agent deployment required in other products.
The dashboards are simple to set up and customising them is very easy.
Integration with our service desk is a great benefit for automated ticket opening, updates and closures.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've used an alternative product for over 10 years, so transitioning to the LogicMonitor interface was a bit of a learning curve. Initially it didn't feel very intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Proactive monitoring and alerting to identify possible issues before they hit the business. Precisely what you need from a monitoring product. We can clearly see any active alerts and ongoing issues.
Working for an MSP, the simple deployment solves a lot of issues we would normally encounter

Logicmonitor, it just works!

  • January 03, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Out of the box it works really well with minimal tweaking, I really like the custom dashboards that can be created which help us to visualize our systems. It also works very well with when monitoring lots of different environments and the access based role control allows to delegate permissions effectively. The support and training has been very helpful and I've gone on to pass my LMCP exam so I am now a qualified LogicMonitor Expert
What do you dislike about the product?
For a novice it takes a little while to find certain options, like entering usernames and passwords. The reporting function could also do with a little work but nothing major. Overall its a great product that is hard to fault
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We monitor many customers environments as an MSP and it helps is to be proactive rather than reactive. We are monitoring everything in our environment such as servers, network switches, firewalls, routers, VMs, applications, websites, databases. We use it across different systems such as VMware, Hyper-V, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2008R2 and also Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Suse, KDE.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use the training resources

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the simplicity of LogicMonitor while at the same time you can get really advanced if you need it. Utilizing everything from snmp to powershell to ssh and more
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much but of course there are always small things here and there. The report options could be better for example
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are an MSP and are able to monitor our customers in separately and also give them access to dashboard for real time statistics

Functional and powerful solution

  • December 18, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
LogicMonitor works from day one, clear dashboards show an overview allowing us to see the status of our customers' networks at a glance. If a more granular view is needed then it is simple to drill down into the data or to create further dashboards that are accessible with a couple of clicks.

The support from the LM team has also been fantastic, helping us out with datasources and other useful advice.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to dislike about LogicMonitor, but the frustration with scripts is probably one. That is more to do with my background as opposed to the platform though, so this will hopefully improve the more I do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
An overview of multiple customers, multiple vendors, and multiple resources on a single screen with the ability to respond and resolve quicker then ever.

The Ultimate SAAS based Monitoring Tool

  • December 11, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Rapid deployments, the possibilities to package datasources to fit our MSP needs to our customers. Rapid deployment and smooth usage of tokens and property mapping.
Monitoring Cloud Resources based on Tags is heaven
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't dislike it but there could be some more basic datasources regarding microsoft infrastructure and Microsoft applications like BizTalk, Navision, Dynamics, CRM, Azure Backup & site recovery
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With LogicMonitor we can use the flexibility in the product. We vent from a server based monitoring system to monitor our customers to SAAS based. That have helped us a lot to grow our business and expand our delivery to our customers
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out you will not be disapointed, the LM Cloud addon is fantastic, And the possibilities to create your own measurements is outstanding!!! It's so easy to deploy, configure and maintain. The widgets on the dashboards are so easy to use. And Use token so that you could set up one and use it as a tamplate for other customers.

Excellent Monitoring and Alerting Tool

  • December 05, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
LogicMonitor is a very stable and expandable platform. They are constantly updating their Datasources to make it easier and easier to monitor and import devices with little to no effort.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no easy way to import a MIB to monitor something that isn't prebuilt. You have to manually build out everything.
The reporting system is horrible. To accomplish most reports we have to use the API. You can't simply say give me a report for all Cisco devices. You have to create a dynamic group then report off of that group.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dashboarding helps our customers get a better insight into their environment. It also helps us to size out future projects for the customer based on availability and reporting metrics.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great system that works for almost everything. Reporting is a little weak yet, but they keep adding to it.
