Great highly customizable platform
What do you like best about the product?
I like that the platform has tons of capability out of the box. If more sophisticated monitoring is required, the platform can be completely customized to accomplish the exact requirement.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that the platform does not natively support cascading alerts, but I've heard from the the team that they are working on adding this feature and that it is planned in a future release.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With the ability to completely customize the product, I've been able to uncover issues and reduce noise by tailoring alerts and monitoring to each specific need. This has given clients and IT support insight in to many issues and potential issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give the platform a try. It's feature filled and can easily be customized to suit the needs of your company, or the company you're implementing it for.
Rough at first, but finally learned to not ask it what it can't do.
What do you like best about the product?
A lot of data sources that I just add and they auto discover, no configurations of flat files, etc like nagios.
What do you dislike about the product?
The API is less than exciting.
Just now getting support beyond snmp polling for linux hosts, works. but still rough.
Groovy script. I mean, really? I have to know python, bash, vbscript, puppet dsl, read java/perl, and now toss groovy in there too. Woulda killed for some proper python script support, but hey, you're always adding stuff.. so who knows.. maybe its already there and I missed it.
Oh, Also. I went to AWS re:invent in 2017, saw one of your associates handing out those cool glowing rubber balls, was a really nice guy. Told him I'm an active customer and he directed me to the LM booth, as existing customers got a LM Hoody. I was utterly beside myself walking over to the booth.. I'm fond of hoodies, and I'd sport a LM hoody like a rockstar. However... When I arrived the rep at the booth let me know there were shipping delays with UPS, so to come back the second day. I returned again, wide eyed and excited.. to only find out, Shipping delays, this time.. with fedex? Come back the third day. Okk.. I literally came to the booth all three days. I really was looking forward to a bright blue LM hoody. I woulda worn that at work far too often, most elsewhere as well. However..
No hoody. I was more disappointed than anyone should be over free stuff, I admit, but I was.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We find out when our stuff breaks, or should i say, find out people have been ignoring alerts.
Auto-discovery is great.
Auto-discovery is great.
Very Usefull

What do you dislike about the product?
Splunk like view
Limited threshold parameters
Limited threshold parameters
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Producton issues. Our monitoring teams are able to monitor system without any application rules based on business and application rules in Logic Monitor
Useful and convenient
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of implementation. Most aspects worked out of the box vary few aspects needed any kind of custom work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setup and maintenance on the current version of the UI bulk actions are difficult if possible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having 1 System Administrator with a primarily on-site environment including 2 Exchange servers. Monitoring and management becomes a full time job. With LogicMonitor i am able to shift most of monitoring to LogicMonitor allowing myself and team to work on projects and new implementations.
LogicMonitor - Powerful monitoring made easy
What do you like best about the product?
LogicMonitor allows you to setup the framework for monitoring and then easily add in devices as needed. Many of the alerts we wanted were already built by LogicMonitor and either already preloaded or easily imported. The platform also allows highly complex or extremely customized alerts to be built in as needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Building reports in the platform is sometimes not as detailed as we like, requiring us to use the API to pull data instead.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working for an MSP, the ability to setup a framework of alerts we can easily add new devices or even new clients into and customize the alerts as needed is invaluable.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Talk with support. They are a godsend!
easy of setup and use
What do you like best about the product?
the ease of adding systems and auto discovery of asset. start collecting data as soon as they are discovered
What do you dislike about the product?
datasource updates that will overwrite customization unless Datasource is cloned
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
systems usage, availability and problem solving
Recommendations to others considering the product:
give LM a try.
Level up your logging
What do you like best about the product?
Its easy to get devices in and polled by logicmonitor
What do you dislike about the product?
Navigating the gui can be a chore sometimes, though they are putting in a search feature to facilitate finding things and reducing clicks
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were using zenoss for monitoring. Managing an enterprise monitoring platform in house comes with a huge laundry list of tasks to keep it current, relevant, and able to poll a myriad of oids out of the box. With lm, we dont have to worry about any of that and can get to whats important: the metrics and monitoring
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Pushing data to lm instead of polling
Awesome product.
What do you like best about the product?
I really like LogicMonitor because i do not have to implement a lot of servers on premises or install agents on my monitored devices. I also love that once I add devices to LogicMonitor, it automatically starts monitoring all metrics on the devices that can be monitored. Another benefit is the very large list of third parties that we can integrate into LogicMonitor.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is very little I dislike about LogicMonitor. One of the things missing that I would like to see would be the ability to run scripts after an alert is received (like for starting windows services).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has made device management so much easier and has really helped make us aware of potential application issues and incidents.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Review the features, documentation, and third party integrations on the LogicMonitor site to see all the awesome things it can do.
Amazing product, better support
What do you like best about the product?
The support chat team, both very fast and very knowledgeable. David Lee in particular has been an invaluable resource for my team
What do you dislike about the product?
New features can take longer than said, Topology took a very long time after discussion to appear and it still does need more work
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rapid, widespread visualisation of all business critical metrics and devices. when we went on site with a customer who only had network monitoring in place, they were clamoring for server monitoring too.
Super Flexible, does just about everything.
What do you like best about the product?
If you can script it, you can do it. Super extensible, but also very usable out of the box. You can use their built in datasources, or create your own to do almost anything. There is also a big community that shares their own datasources they have written on their own that can be used.
You can also tokenize dashboards, which allows you to use them with various departments or customers. They can be dynamically filled with resources so that you don't need to build them each time you add something. The context support link in the portal is super helpful as well.

What do you dislike about the product?
A bit overwhelming at first. There is so much you can do that you don't know about immediately. Building datasources and datapoints is not intuitive, however, there is support built into the portal to help with this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring complex data out to get those metrics that you can't get out of the box
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Support and integrations are awesome and make usage much easier.
