More than just monitoring with an excellent customer journey
What do you like best about the product?
The software itself works perfectly for our organisation as is contains a lot of features. But besides the software, Logicmonitor does a lot to stay in contact with their customers to try and improve their product with the feedback that they receive. The customer journey of LogicMonitor is one of the best i have seen untill now.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of MFA in the software. This is a general concern but because the portal contains a remote desktop functionality, this becomes a real threat without the ability to use MFA.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The most value is coming from the monitoring of our IT-infrastructure and knowing there is an issue before our end users notice anything.
IT Manager, Global Infrastructure Services
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility and depth of the products flexibility and infrastructure/cloud monitoring needs
What do you dislike about the product?
a significantly higher cost of the product and ability to monitor network devices like SolarWinds does. The network team moved off LM and moved back to SolarWinds(twice decided to do this under two team leads)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The LM team helped our teams setup standards and basics for monitoring and then tuned the App alerts to the Dev teams to self manage. excellent experience and partnership with account management and support.
Great to focus on roadmaps and alignment of the product with the goals of our business/needs
Great to focus on roadmaps and alignment of the product with the goals of our business/needs
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Set goals and defined company standards, groups (infrastructure and devops/Dev) and the workflows for all monitoring, alerting and tuning processes
Fabulous partnership with the Account Manager(Marikate L is great) and support teams.

Great monitoring platform
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use cloud based monitoring platform. Monitors most devices with minimum setup. Good reporting and integration options. Great UI
What do you dislike about the product?
We could use a few more decided supported. We’ve got a few NetApp sans that aren’t supported and a couple of network devices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We’ve been able to solve our up down and performing monitoring problems with this one tool.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great platform give it a try
Logic monitor does what it says it does
What do you like best about the product?
Logic monitor allows me to see the status of my infrastructure on the move and on NOC monitors. It has frequently alerted us to problems before users notice
What do you dislike about the product?
Alerting can be a little too verbose for a single failure (server stops responding and it can trigger alerts for all facets of the server)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not needing on site resources to monitor equipment daily has allowed us to grow without needing to do arduous manual daily checks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get started with a real trial to see what it's like rather than reading the literature
LogicMonitor
What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility, No agents, Reporting and SaaS solution. I like the straightforward pricing model. Ease of use and deployment. The role based permissions is also very beneficial to our organization. Putting devices in SDT mode allows us to monitor SLAs and not affect statistics due to planned changes within the environment. I am happy LogicMonitor has recently added LM Logs to capture and analysis log files. This was a weakness in the product that has been fixed with the addition of this tool. The LM Config is a very useful feature to backup, store and identify changes to networking devices. The ease to restore these files is fantastic. I also like the side by side comparison of the networking configurations. It allows you to easily spot the changes and make the appropriate fixes quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Collectors should handle more devices per collector. Additional reporting would be beneficial. Cloud monitoring could be more robust. LogicMonitor has made great strides in this department however there is more to develop in comparison to some of its competitors. Application monitoring can be enhanced, but in all fairness it's not an Application Performance Monitoring tool. As a service provider, i don't like that we can't tie in multiple SSO / SIML / AD architectures for simple login into the LogicMonitor portal for our customers. This would be a welcome enhancement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring customers networks, systems, and voice systems. We have been utilizing the synthetic transactions capabilities to proactively monitor and test websites and applications. Better visibility into applications, and systems. We have realized significant benefits with deploying a single toolset to monitor environments. We have decommissioned several tools and saved significant money in the process.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would seriously look at LogicMonitor as it is a great product and company.
Great product!
What do you like best about the product?
I like having detailed historical data on all devices, especially switch configuration change/comparisons!
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't anything that I dislike but I do wish that I could filter for a particular datasource, datasource group or instance and then click on a folder to view just the filtered graph across all resources in the selected folder.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are alerted on everything from offline network devices to failed hard drives to latency to a website.
Great Product
What do you like best about the product?
very easy to use and troubleshoot with plus the graphs offer a great alternative view
What do you dislike about the product?
some alerts could be better explained and easier to read i.e 'this device has a status of 3'
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it has made it far easier to detect and troubleshoot issues
Great Monitoring Product
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to setup and use monitoring product. Monitors almost everything in our data center with minimal setup required.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few devices that aren't monitored in detail, a couple of our SANs, etc. But even for those we can do basic up/down monitoring so at least we have something.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gives us a good overview of performance and uptime.
Our Go-to Tool For Monitoring and Troubleshooting IT Infrastructure
What do you like best about the product?
Time-series graphs with the ability to zoom in. Out-of-the box functionality is tremendous. We can point it at a device and start getting useful data immediately. The cloud interface and reliability of the product are awesome.
What do you dislike about the product?
I was upset when they released configuration management as an expensive extra feature. The contract negotiation process is painful, with LogicMonitor attempting to raise prices way above what's justified.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to quickly diagnose network issues and complete root-cause-analysis in a fraction of the time it took before LogicMonitor.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Invest the time to create useful dashboards. The data is great, but dashboards are where LogicMonitor really shines day-to-day.
LogicMonitor Review
What do you like best about the product?
We primarily use LogicMonitor for monitoring physical devices via SNMP polling. Here are a few things I like about LogicMonitor regarding this:
- Device Groups - Since we share a single LM instance across our entire company, being able to categorize devices into multiple groups and sub-groups is very useful for both organization and alert rules
- The process for creating customer data sources and graphs (from data points) is pretty straight forward and easy
- Being able to toggle alerting on/off and configure alert tuning for particular instances is very convenient
- Web GUI is pretty good and easy to navigate

What do you dislike about the product?
- Since we share a single instance across an entire company and our current implementation of the alert rules system is pretty chaotic. I just have to hope that no one unintentionally creates a broad rule w/a lower priority that steal's my team's alerts. It would be great if you could partition an LM instance by "team" so each team's partition has it's own isolated devices and rules that do not interfere with each other.
- The mobile app leaves a lot to be desired. I would like to be able to filter alerts by device group name. Also browse devices and view graphs like you can in the Web GUI
- It would be nice if you use MIBs instead of just OIDs when setting up data sources

A single platform for monitoring all our physical devices.
