Very good network monitoring tool

  • May 07, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Automation via python coding , we can run many automated tests besides the regular monitoring and alerts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Software support is not very good. The recent GUI update is not as good as before.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Network monitoring. We were able to stand up multiple collectors in each of our key locations. We can test network performance without spending a lot of money on network performance tools.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great software, not very good support. Netflow is weak, you may need to buy another tool to cover that poor netflow collection issue.

What do you like best about the product?
Love the fact we can have single pane of glass monitoring across hosted DC and AWS services
What do you dislike about the product?
Certainly need more plugins into LM from AWS services so that we can entirely rely on LM.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trying to be our single pane of glass monitoring. And thats the benefit we have realized.

What do you dislike about the product?
Significant customization requires scripts
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wanted to monitor several device types with one tool and this fit the bill
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do your homework and look at your entire environment to make sure it can cover all

LogicMonitor makes a complex task like monitoring an enterprise, almost painless

  • May 07, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is intuitive, well designed, and navagiable. It's extensible through it's internal grovy script. I've yet to come across a device it hasn't discovered or identified automatically. It's easy to tune out alert noise and integrate with other tools like PagerDuty.
What do you dislike about the product?
Netflow support is a bit lacking, but servicable in it's basic format.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time to maintain the monitoring environment has been signifigantly reduced. Overall alert noise from our previous monitoring platform has been reduced signifigantly as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are tired of the old standard and their archaic interface, give LogicMonitor a try... you'll never go back.

Superb Monitoring tool for any OPs Team

  • April 28, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
Simple deployment, great flexibility, and verbosity in alerting. Inbuilt AI to detect anomalies and alert you on any range of issues.
Customizable dashboards to suit what's important to you, giving you a single pane of glass view on critical business infrastructure and services.
All with inbuilt reporting on uptime and SLAs to keep the management happy!

There isn't a day where I'm not delving into the goodness that is LogicMonitor.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the real power of the tool is not always intuative and requires a hefty time investment to get right.
"Snappiness" of the GUI could be improved as it does from time to time feel like its undergoing performance issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
API monitoring and performance.
We are automating after-hour support calls based on what the business deems as critical.

What do you dislike about the product?

    Computer Software

Very robust and configurable, but a decently steep learning curve

  • March 03, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
How configurable and "integratable" it is. You can really configure it however you want, which is nice. You can also integrate it with a tonnnnn of 3rd party apps, texts, calls, etc. There's really no excuse not to get an alert, which I suppose is kind of the point.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you don't have someone on the pulse of it, it can get quite chatty. In my opinion, sysadmin duties expand beyond just alerting. And while it is a big part, LM can get out of hand quickly. To be fair, I've only been involved in companies that already have deployed and are using LM, so maybe they just did it "wrong", but it's not something you can set and leave.

Long story short, I wish it was more straightforward to set up and tweak as needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Alerting. There are some nice escalation rules and general alert rules. What we have configured, we can trust to alert us when an issue happens.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I've never used anything else, but it's definitely worth a look, and if you can perhaps have someone who has some knowledge implement it a bit, and be "the person", I think you might be a bit more successful. Not that there has to be one person handling it, but really an SME from day one to make sure the alerts aren't to chatty and really help set up the game plan for success.

Logicmon is the logical choice

  • February 23, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use interface and yet very powerful. Able to configure very detailed monitor types. lot of different options for monitors and log parsing. You can create some nice views as well to streamline things as when using this for an enterprise the list of items can become overwhelming. Web monitors are extremely flexible and can be used in a variety of ways. Logicmon's customer care team is also very accessible to us and been very willing to help with customization.
What do you dislike about the product?
Still uses SNMP 2.0 which is insecure and we have had some issues with getting our SSO to work. The alert notification tiering is also different than other platforms so that requires some adjustments. A fair bit of customization and tweaking is required for complex environments but the vendor is happy to work with us to assist on these types of issues. Our customer support team have changed more often than I like but I am happy to say that regardless they stay engaged with our teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have eliminated some other monitoring tools. We are mainly doing web checks. We are also enabling the business to see a single pane of glass for viewing their estate. We are also allowing other teams in our enterprise to use the tool for specific items such as ISAM and F5. This tool really fits a niche because many other tools are too basic or are more focused on deep dives into apps. Logicmon really bridges the gap in a cost effective way.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your using other tools don't expect this to be a simple cutover. Document your current process well and then you can use it to map into logicmon. Also be ready to adapt to a new interface. Changing tools is a complex endeavor. Get familar with your rep and customer support team as they can and will help you along the way.
