Comprehensive Monitoring: With LogicMonitor, customers may follow and examine many elements of their digital infrastructure, such as servers, networks, apps, and cloud services. Organizations may get a holistic perspective of their surroundings and quickly spot possible problems thanks to this all-encompassing strategy.

LogicMonitor is renowned for its intuitive user interface, which is simple to use and comprehend for both technical and non-technical users. The dashboard offers a consolidated and resizable view of crucial metrics, warnings, and insights, making monitoring and troubleshooting more effective.

Scalability and Flexibility: LogicMonitor is created to grow seamlessly, supporting establishments of all sizes, from start-ups to global corporations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cost: According to some customers, the cost of LogicMonitor might be rather exorbitant, especially for smaller firms or organizations with tighter budgets. Although LogicMonitor offers a wide range of functions, prospective customers should assess their unique monitoring needs and consider the price structure before choosing the platform.

Beginners may find the first setup and configuration procedure a little challenging, even though LogicMonitor's user interface is typically pleasant. This is especially true for users unfamiliar with monitoring tools or with minimal technical knowledge. The platform's numerous customization choices and feature-rich design may provide a learning curve for certain users.

Customization Restrictions: Despite the extensive selection of monitoring templates and customization possibilities offered by LogicMonitor, some customers have called for even more adaptability.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizations seeking simplified monitoring capabilities might greatly benefit from LogicMonitor. Here are some of the main issues that LogicMonitor resolves and how it is benefiting me, along with the advantages that result from doing so:

1) Infrastructure insight and Proactive Monitoring: Issue: Businesses frequently struggle to acquire complete insight into their intricate digital infrastructures, which creates blind spots and makes it difficult to recognize problems before they get out of hand.
Solution: A consolidated and comprehensive view of infrastructure performance is provided by LogicMonitor, allowing for real-time monitoring of servers, networks, applications, and cloud services. This proactive monitoring strategy aids in detecting abnormalities and possible issues early, limiting downtime and its effects on crucial activities.

2) Efficient Root Cause Analysis and Troubleshooting
Problem: Troubleshooting performance problems may be time-consuming and difficult, frequently leading to extended downtime and higher IT support expenses.
Solution: LogicMonitor's robust analytics and diagnostic tools enable customers to identify the root causes of performance deterioration or disruptions swiftly.

Highly scalable cloud-based infrastructure monitoring tool which is easy to integrate

  • May 17, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We use it as a primary monitoring tool for our cloud offerings. I work for one of the largest service providers in Australia and their cloud solutions. We monitor the entire cloud solutions using LogicMonitor.

How has it helped my organization?

What is most valuable?

The plugins are easy to integrate, and LogicMonitor provides these add-ons for vendors like VMware. It becomes very easy to integrate them and take the data sources. One does not need to configure everything individually. It automatically detects all the resources by their type and starts monitoring them almost immediately.

What needs improvement?

There is a lack of automation, especially in terms of remediating problems. The problem is seen and identified, but there is a need and a gap where LogicMonitor can help us automate the remediation of the problem. I hope it will be there in the future.

My colleagues feel the ease of use is a concern because to implement the granularity of the product, you need some programming knowledge and understanding of code development.

So, it becomes a challenge for everyone in your company, especially administrators who might not know how to code. Otherwise, there is no problem with LogicMonitor.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for the past four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is highly scalable. We have never seen any issues regarding resource crunch. It's an everyday thing. All of our services use it as a primary resource for monitoring infrastructure. So in my department, we have fifty-odd people, and the service desk is around twenty-odd people. Our company is significant. We are on the verge of deciding whether You want to use this for the entire organization because a bigger company has acquired us, and that company does not use LogicMonitor. And we are pushing that LogicMonitor is a good resource for us, and we should use it across the company. Right now, it is in one department, but we want to push it across the organization, then it would become really big. We would have around two thousand end users using it. So, currently, we have two, and if this goes organization-wide, then there would probably be more people getting on board for this.

How are customer service and support?

It's very good. They were there when we required some assistance from LogicMonitor. I personally dealt with those cases, and I was extremely satisfied with the kind of response I received. I rate it ten out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I worked with NETGEAR and other internal tools, but nothing was as elaborate, extensive, graphically oriented, and well-informed as LogicMonitor. It is one of the best product analysts.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward. It took us around a week to thoroughly architect the solution deployment. The collectivity takes hardly five to ten minutes to install on any machine you want to be a collector and a monitoring resource. It doesn't take more than ten minutes. And installation of an architect is just a one-time job. You don't do it every day like we did it four years back. After that, we didn't look at it. We only spent some time, like, ten minutes creating new collectors, and that's it.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing can be a little aggressive. Right now, it's a bit much for smaller organizations to adopt it. But comparatively, it also provides good features. So it's a give and take.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did evaluate it, and we saw pros and content. Looking at the cost structure, everything, and business requirements, this was the best fit for us.

As I told you, this bigger company has acquired us. The other departments use that product, and the cost structure is not as high as LogicMonitor. But I am researching it. I still need more information. But with my initial research, I found a gap in how Icinga takes care of necessary components of our infrastructure, especially IBM web infrastructure, and how LogicMonitor incorporates that versus how Icinga does it. I still need profound information, but the preliminary research shows a LogicMonitor is better.

What other advice do I have?

They have to first evaluate their options, consider their business requirements, use cases, and fix the purpose. If it is to process, LogicMonitor is definitely a tool to go for.

I rate it ten out of ten.

Great product for Cloud and Container monitoring

  • April 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's ability to discover and monitor Cloud and container based workloads. Out of the box monitoring templates with best practice thresholds. It is also reliable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Certain types of customisations can be more difficult than in other products. Main thing is lack of access to backend database, which makes reporting challenging. In general reporting options are limited. SNMP trap support is very basic too.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main benefit is visiblity of our cloud and container workloads. We can get a lot of data in a central place and apply alerting based on that. Out of the box alerts are keeping our infrastructure available and performing well.

Powerful tool with vast array of sensors to monitor the network

  • April 20, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy and intuitive tool with a lot of material available for consultation. It can monitor just about everything via the built in sensors but the option for custom sensors takes it to the next level. The dashboard is reliable and gives me a picture of what's the network situation.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would prefer automation in the area of backup so that we can have an easy way to do it. There is a lot to configure and to understand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The software allows me to monitor servers, sends alerts in case of any issues, and I quickly get information from the devices or ports that are down and I can intervene.

    Information Technology and Services

LogicMonitor has great info to display but it's not the easiest setting things up.

  • January 24, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to have devices in multiple groups is very helpful (i.e. a firewall can be in a 'North Carolina' group as well as a 'security' group)
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a lot to get set up. On set up, it takes some time getting used to with how things are done but once you get used to it, it's very helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We replaced a different Monitoring system and this has been a great replacement. We are able to see a lot more in detail to our devices. It also gives detail related to UC servers as well.

LogicMonitor falls short

  • December 20, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It provides monitoring and alerting of technical assets.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's unreliable. Compared to the competition, it's not nearly as useful of a tool in troubleshooting. I have also found that configuration change detection and backups is super unreliable. This is essential to all network tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gets us at least surface level monitoring and some configuration backups.
