My experience with LogicMonitor

What do you like best about the product?
It is the ideal solution for monitoring which is simple to use and execute, it provides tools to reduce work time improving the workflow, the technical service is excellent and knowledgeable to give appropriate solutions

Nothing absolutely everything works better than expected, it fulfills my expectations
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a tool that would allow us to monitor the server infrastructure, and a comprehensive supervision of the system to eliminate any threat before it generates damage, LogicMonitor was the solution to this problem, we customize the alerts to receive those that represent an import threat to the system and thus able to attack them effectively, we access without inconvenience to the logs of the analysis when our staff requires it

Intuitive user interface, tools are kept constantly updated with improvements in product performance, easy access to free trial, devices integrate seamlessly, technical support is attentive and knowledgeable

It is a tool that goes beyond just monitoring, it also foresees the important problems that arise and allows reacting quickly and accurately to solve them, which means savings in time and money for the company, it prepares the equipment with the right data to reduce the time spent for the MTTR

What is our primary use case?

We used it to monitor our infrastructure and cloud systems. We have on-premise setups with fixed applications. 

What is most valuable?

LogicMonitor improved on-premises infrastructure monitoring in several ways. One key feature was dynamic resource allocation, although we didn't utilize it much in our system. The main functionalities we benefited from were email alerts, network mapping, and dashboards. 

Configuring multiple thresholds, including dynamic thresholds, helped identify potential problems early before they caused application downtime. The system prioritized alerts based on learned patterns. The reporting feature in LogicMonitor was quite useful. It allowed for generating reports on various aspects, and you could even schedule them to be sent via email.

What needs improvement?

One drawback of LogicMonitor is its licensing model, which requires an additional license for each module. For example, if you need to use Azure monitoring, you'll need an additional license on top of the base license.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the product for five years. 

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Occasionally, there might be scheduled maintenance or updates, which could result in some downtime for the UI.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The product is scalable since it is cloud-based. 

How are customer service and support?

The customer support experience with LogicMonitor varied depending on the location. The support was good for US customers, but for those in India, where support was provided from Singapore, it was not as good.

How was the initial setup?

Deploying the tool is easy but may require some fine-tuning after the initial setup. While the deployment process is straightforward, we found some adjustments were needed post-deployment, particularly in fine-tuning thresholds and configurations. Maintaining LogicMonitor is straightforward. Once the initial implementation is done, our Level 1 team handles maintenance requests. One person is generally sufficient to handle configuration and maintenance tasks. 

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The tool's pricing falls into the middle range.

What other advice do I have?

LogicMonitor offers integrations with various tools, such as data analytics platforms. While some integrations may require additional investment, they provide an open API, allowing custom integrations to be developed. While not all integrations are included for free, many of the leading market tools are supported.  

I work with clients of varying sizes, including enterprises and smaller businesses. Previously, I mainly worked with enterprise clients, but recently, I've configured the system for smaller businesses.

I rate the overall solution a ten out of ten. Before you buy LogicMonitor, figure out how big your setup is and how many collectors you'll need. Understand your needs and environment well to avoid any complications later on.

Tool to monitor networks effectively

What do you like best about the product?
It presents a visually attractive and easy to configure interface, the thechnical support is able to give suitable answers to any questions, despite having a high price, it fully complies with the functions
What do you dislike about the product?
The mobile application presents errors at the moment of execution and sometimes closes spontaneously. Obtaining a demo could be less complicated since its price can be high for small companies, although it is totally worth the expense
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
After comparing LogicMonitor with existing products on the market, we selected it for being the best option for network monitoring, infrastructure maintenance, grouping problems, creating detailed reports of the same reducing the time to resolve them, provides graphs to determine where the anomalies are located and has significantly improved the performance of the company

An easy-to-use solution for network monitoring

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution for network monitoring. 

What is most valuable?

LogicMonitor helps us prevent potential downtime. It's pretty good. It generates low-level warnings that aren't necessarily preemptive but can still alert us to issues we should investigate. These warnings allow us to correlate data and identify areas where we should take action, even if the issues aren't critical.

The most useful feature we've found in LogicMonitor is its ability to deploy templates automatically. It's quite smart in this regard. When we add a device, it detects the type of device and deploys the appropriate template for it.  

The tool's alerting system has been pretty good for us. We receive SMS alerts if we're not in front of our screens, which has improved our response time to potential issues. The escalation chains feature has been particularly useful in this regard. Overall, it's easy to use and simplifies our alerting process.

The tool is highly integratable. 

What needs improvement?

LogicMonitor should improve its logging features. It can become expensive and should be cost-effective. It would be great to see prebuilt templates for alerting methods in LogicMonitor that are similar to the prebuilt dashboards. Currently, users have to build their alerting configurations. 

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the product for more than two years. 

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the solution's stability a nine out of ten. 

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate the product's scalability a ten out of ten. 

How are customer service and support?

The response time for support needs to be better. They're pretty fast in responding, but there are many areas they won't cover; it often falls out of scope. While they're good at getting back to us, they're not owning the issue and assisting.

The tool's deployment is very simple. 

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution is not expensive. 

What other advice do I have?

We use Datadog for cloud monitoring. I rate the overall product an eight out of ten.

Tool to monitor your company

What do you like best about the product?
It presents an intuitive and dynamic interface, the monitoring tool is automated in the servers and other functions the configuration of the devices does not require more experience, generates detailed reports which are crucial to detect the failure and find the right solution, the technical support is prepared to give suitable answers
What do you dislike about the product?
The price is high, the interface of the mobile application should be improved, if the internet connection is poor it will not work properly, more options to customize the interface are missing

Notifications keep us alerted about the operation of the devices, therefore, it is no longer necessary to check them frequently, effectively monitors the company´s networks detecting problems in less time which facilitates the resolution of the same which leads to a saving of time and money for the company

What do you like best about the product?
It is an easy to use and install software that requires no further assistance, likewise the technical support provides solutions to any inconvenience that may arise, alerts are configured quickly, when running system updates is not affected the operation of the same, the interface design provides an entertaining and easy navigation

The costs of the product are high, but the efficiency of the product is worth the investment, the reports could be more automated, the application for mobile devices sometimes presents errors

LogicMonitor has provided us with monitoring tools for networks, servers and the cloud, being compatible with a wide variety of devices it adapted to the employees in the company without any problem, the alerts keep the devices protected and the reports save time to provide solutions to the problems detected. Excellent tool I recommend it

What do you like best about the product?
The compilers for basic monitoring are of great quality, the software enjoys great acceptance in many industries with good comments from large customers, integrations with the most demanded services at the enterprise level, to name a few that we use, Slack, PagerDuty, ServiceNow, and many more that make usable all monitoring services in the cloud, on the network, including containers, I must also highlight the customization within the interface is a comfortable software to use, with an attractive design and a complete interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have had no major problems with LogicMonitor, if I could criticize the costs of implementation and activation of the service, they are higher than other monitoring services on the market, but none does what LogicMonitor has achieved for IT companies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Logic software is a tool that has allowed us to make infrastructure monitoring systems, available networks, containers, in the development of applications and web-based services has been a great ally to check that all work is done correctly, thanks to its system of alerts and detailed analysis drives us to make better technical decisions in the IT field, even in its ServiceNow integration the program becomes an incredible failure detection system.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, you can add all the devices you want to monitor from the interface, it is also possible to schedule alerts, the installation is easier than I thought, they have an excellent community behind the project there is a lot of documentation on how to make the most of the software, the customer service I experienced was very cordial at all times they explained how to use the program in the most appropriate way and at no cost, it integrates very well with other IT services, we use ServiceNow, and it is excellent in conjunction with LogicMonitor.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think we should modernize some things within the program starting with the templates that are presented to us since we install the software, the analyses are complete, but they also need an update, this should not be a problem, but this tool, although fine is not cheap, your company should have enough resources for all the licenses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LogicMonitor is our main monitoring tool in the cloud, as far as networks are concerned, it is essential for a well-maintained infrastructure. Goodbye to all complex problems, this software observes all anomalies and notifies us through alerts what we have to correct. We collect and analyze data, it allows us to classify all the problems and look for solutions, excellent to meet between all our IT team and make decisions.

What do you like best about the product?
Good mechanics of real-time alerts, monitoring options in the cloud are excellent, the software is interpreted in a good way, the configuration for a good use did not bring problems, analysis and reports of the data collected are very complete the program is very graphic this I like, the interface is simpler than at first glance we can notice. The support team connects very well with the customer, they give solutions and are experts in the field.
What do you dislike about the product?
LM is expensive, to be honest it was the most expensive software we have implemented in the company, if you are a company with few employees, and that is starting I do not recommend its acquisition, it is also a program that consumes resources, otherwise the software works great and is improving with each update.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It was a vital acquisition for our alerting system, so far we have used all LM monitoring options and I must say that each hosted service complements what we need, both in the cloud and in containers, in fact, the integration with Slack gives more versatility, and we take better advantage of all the options that the program provides.
