Arena QMS Reviews
What do you like best about the product?
With Arena I can implement almost all Quality processes for complying with US FDA 21 CFR regulations, EU CE marking, Health Canada … regulations.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only part prevent us to implement more processes on Arena is the licence pricing. Price is till high so we have to limit our process implement with Arena.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used Arena to retain all of Quality records including Design History File, Complaint Handling, CAPA, Nonconformance etc. We eliminate the hard copy records so we do not need to have storage area for hard copy binders.
Great software but takes awhile to learn
What do you like best about the product?
I like that the interface is consistent and functions fairly quickly. From screen to screen it's very similar and once you understand the flow is intuitive. I also think the interface is clean and pretty minimal without a lot of distractions. I do wish the login forget password was self-done and did not need a facilitator, although this may be unique to each company. I think the flow of information architecture is also good too.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel like while each company has their own process and ways of using PLM, Arena could bake in features that allow those managing the database to provide walkthroughs customized for their company integrated into the features. For example if I go online to update a file I'm first presented a step by step approach for doing so that aligns with my company's process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Part management and supplier management. Benefits are a cohesive database across teams. We manage a lot of cad assemblies and part files in our company. We often will use it to communicate with vendors and make sure we know what parts they are using and they are up to date.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
No advice really, I think you could use some help from some UX Designers to better teach those that are unfamiliar with the software and improve onboarding. I think the biggest hurdle for adoption is new users and improving that experience so people have a better first time impression of the tool.
Great for Small Businesses
What do you like best about the product?
For small business that do not have the resources to quickly create a robust QMS and CM system, ARENA has proven to be a great turnkey solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
The search function should be more user-friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ARENA is providing our organization with a robust QMS and configuration management infrastructure.
Nice visual interface, terrible user interface for QMS.
What do you like best about the product?
The layout and and options for fields are ok.
What do you dislike about the product?
The structure of the system is far too limited to be useful for a complaint database. The field types are limited and lack integration into other sections of the quality process. The inability to choose how to view and sort based on fields is beyond frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
None.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would not use Arena for a complaint handling QMS.
Great organization and functionability
What do you like best about the product?
The organization and cross-functionality of Arena PLM and QMS
What do you dislike about the product?
There are too many options for some of the features in the PLM that don't necessarily apply to our needs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving organizational problems and having a place to archive everything we have
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely recommend Arena PLM & QMS for product management, quality management, and overall documentation. It is effective in being an easily accessible place to file everything and to share documents. It is the most cross-functional application that we have used, and it serves as a central place for all departments to share and document things.
Storage of documentation for QMS purpose
What do you like best about the product?
I like training management the most, recurrence of trainings setup
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that item numbers are not generated in word directly as heather
I dislike that the tool is customizable up to a certain extent. E.G. Arena PLM marketing claims to have CAPA solution. I do have in my Arena-Quality a CAPA template but this cannot really be used as CAPA tool. Limitations are:
- Confidentiality of information
- File can be addeded and modified even after sign off.

electronic signatures only, but the amount of work for training myself in how to use the tool was huge
Recommendations to others considering the product:
write your requirement for an e-QMS tool before choosing any of them available in the market
Product Lifecycle management across multiple sites around the world
What do you like best about the product?
Arena parts management is very robust. There are quirks for sure, but we haven't come across a single bug yet.
The revision control and Engineering change process is smooth and easy to follow for teams including Engineers, Purchasing, Quality, Compliance and Shop floor.
Arena provides supplier access for major vendors and contract manufacturers to ensure up-to-date information is always available, whether it's approved manufacturer part numbers, latest revision of BOMs or drawings and CAD files.

What do you dislike about the product?
Very little customization. If you want to export a BOM with particular fields you can, as long as they are the fields that Arena have chosen to let you use (HINT: not all of them).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
BOM management and revision control.
Supplier management.
Spec Sheets, Drawings and CAD files.
Change Requests and Change Orders.

Software tries to do too much, resulting in a complex mess
What do you like best about the product?
The interface for managing training is helpful for managing large amounts of training modules. Document and approval routing is built it, along with repository of documents.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's no pre-set approval paths, notifying additional users takes 3-4 clicks, that a simple UI change could improve. The search mechanism is lacking as different areas require different search parameters, you have to know exactly where to do your search to get the right results, this simple fact makes it challenging to find a document you know exists in Arena, but are unsure which category or state it is in.
Training is force refreshed for EVERY update (i.e. forces retraining), no matter how small. Nor does it highlight the changes required to be reviewed.
In the end it's purely a process management tool, but without the correct thought, design and overall guidance, becomes a complicated mess.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simplifies training management, and tracking. Automatically notifies late assignments and reminders.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Could be useful to use different tools to manage only portions relevant at your scale
Arena successfully captures BOM and revision control in one interface.
What do you like best about the product?
The interface is very user friends and becoming familiar with Arena does not take long.
What do you dislike about the product?
I use two different work spaces in Arena and it would be helpful to be able to reference them both at the same time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Arena has helped stream line communication with our customer and better grasp ECs and revision changes.
Helps the company run
What do you like best about the product?
The web portal enables us to build BOMs effectively, and quickly look up any information we need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of obvious functionality to expand the use of Arena to control stock and orders without the need for external software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has enabled us to assign part numbers quickly, build a set of BOMs which we are relying on every day to run our business, that we were previously doing through spreadsheets which are not reliable.
