arena and the future
What do you like best about the product?
how user friendly the system is in terms of creating a change and accessing data
What do you dislike about the product?
Needs a better association setup so that things are more clear
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been able to better search the system for all of my data needs
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a system that can take your data to the next level
Arena is an evolutionary marvel for big data but can be difficult to automate data entry processes.
What do you like best about the product?
Arena is capable of handling big data workflows. It is a great tool for file management alongside data entry. It simplifies the handling of complex information and processes. It is not always intuitive but it is clean and once you understand it well enough to implement the data you want it is very effective to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Arena can get messy with file numbering if you have to delete files and it is often easier to make new records by hand rather than figure out how to do mass fixes/changes to certain fields and/or uploads of whole records. We configure Indented Bills of Material in an Excel file, which can be tricky and clunky uploading from and downloading to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We want to move away from the use of spreadsheets and cloud servers for vast product information storage and change orders for production. Arena is helping us realize this goal. It is robust enough to be capable of fluidly managing big data through the workflow process, though it still seems more complicated in areas where manual duplication of information is necessary than it probably should be. I expect it will continue to evolve to more easily meet streamlined needs where information should be able to automatically replicate across fields without propagating where it is not needed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Seems like common sense but it is oh so important to understand your processes and workflow in and out before setting up Arena fields and flows.
ARENA - Not a bad tool to use
What do you like best about the product?
This tool works well for document control - we haven't used the new requirements or project "worlds", which would be VERY useful in connecting the design, engineering and implementation phases of development.
What do you dislike about the product?
Certain quirky problems, like having to manually add every applicable change to a new supplier representative, rather than them having access to all changes for that supplier, either by default or an option button.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool does allow us to track the production phases and applicable testing through the quality module, which keeps project management both informed and on task to see what teams may be missing critical information needed to proceed to the next development phase.
One-stop shop for all configuration needs
What do you like best about the product?
Import/export of items makes for easy BOM maintenance. Indented BOMs are useful. Searchable multiple criteria is useful
What do you dislike about the product?
possibility of duplicate bom sequences or duplicate items on BOMS. manual manipulation of BOMs is not efficient in site
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
makes Bill of material maintence fast and efficient. instead of working directly in Syteline.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The best service to use.
Perfect tool for Quality Control and Assurance in Management
What do you like best about the product?
The best feature of this tool is to provide evidence based decision making. This tool helps in transforming inputs/outputs and management resources in appropriate manner. The basic idea behind this tool is to have continual improvement rather than continuous improvement and help in effective decision making through analysis and evaluation of data.
What do you dislike about the product?
The major drawback of this tool is that it does not provide greater flexibility to data visualization and there are no automated analysis done by the system. Also there are certain things which are either missing or difficult to access such as the planning tool which is a major part of the management and required for working effectively.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This helped me in the following ways:
1) To understand the responsibility of persons
2) Identify the interested parties and requirements
3) Plan and prepare documents to be in line with company standards
4) Easy way to get management review
5) To conduct Internal Audit
6) To get management review
7) To organize the process
8) Also helps in getting the ISO certification while auditing

I recommend all professional to go for this tool as it is the best in the market and provides greater control and quality check on document and changes. This helps in maintaining the company standards and also provide a way to keep check over the interested parties. The user experience is fantastic and helps the team to understand the requirement appropriately.
Good tool for managing QMS
What do you like best about the product?
Having one online tool to streamline our Medical QMS is really helpful for us as a small Medtech company.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think there is no good way to implement the PO process in Arena. That's why we have decided to implement this in a paper process again, which is a bit of a shame. Also the CAPA process is not working really smoothly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving keeping a lot of paperwork by having the signatory process and workflow of managing documents fully automated.
Best Product Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
The most important part of using Arena PLM & QMS is that is provides a perfect way for document and production management and also helps in keeping a record of the changes and approvers that helps in auditing and compliance. This increases the efficiency and effectiveness of the company and helps in quality management.
What do you dislike about the product?
The thing which i don't like about ARENA PLM & QMS is that it requires a lot of steps in order to change the document version. Also there is no way in which we can have pre defined approvers i.e everytime I take appproval, i have to add all the approvers again in a particular DCO. Also there is no way in which we can continue the approvals after it is rejected i.e assuming out of 5 approvers say 4 approved and one did not and he requires some changes to doc, there is no way in which i can add the corrected doc in mid way and just take the last persons approver.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems which i solved are:
1) easy to keep records
2) all version at one place
3) easy for quality and control management
4) easy for document and production management

Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is the best quality and control tool for product management and allows us to keep a record of all document and approvers. This increases the efficiency and effectiveness of the company and helps in quality management. This is a perfect tool for document and production management.
Good tool for product Management
What do you like best about the product?
It is a very good tool for product management related works and reduces documentation and follow ups. It also provides a way to efficiently increase the management output. Also from a compliance perspective, this tool can be used to have your company ISO certified.
What do you dislike about the product?
The major things which i don't like about this tool is the that the changes are time consuming and any change order requires many steps and it is a bit confusing and can lead to many mistakes which again is time consuming. Also when a change order is rejected, it should be opened and unlocked automatically and should not need the user to click on it again
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The major problems which i resolved are related to documentation such as keep a track record of all the changes and version created for them and also to find who among the management approved these changes. Also the major problem of having every document in place and putting a tag so that i can be identified which team in the organisation does it belong to.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This tool is very helpful not only for small organisation but also for the bigger organisation where documentation and keeping the process in place is very difficult. Also this tool provides good control of the management on the process and people.
Very Good Browser Based System
What do you like best about the product?
I like how Arena can be used via any web browser, which makes it easy to do work anywhere. The tabs are useful and grouped in a way that makes sense (ex. Quality tab, Items tab). The Dashboard is also very useful and a good way of notifying the user what they're working on and its status. Linking between different worlds is also very nice - for ex. adding NCR links to CAPA's.
What do you dislike about the product?
The option to expand boxes is only via Chrome (that I've found so far). Also, some of the word limits for certain tabs (ex. 1000 vs 4000 word limits) don't make sense - for example, the main body only gets 1000 characters but the comments section gets 4000. The learning curve for Arena is also a little steep - Items vs Changes vs Files gets confusing. Sometimes, if I have more than one tab open and I refresh a tab, it automatically refreshes to a different tab that I have open.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They take feedback seriously and work to implement all changes requested, which is nice. It is also pretty easy to provide feedback and they go out of their way to make sure your issue is resolved. The option to add or update sections needed is nice too, for example being able to add or subtract sections in the CAPA process as needed. The ability to switch between "Production" and "Training" is very nice as well, as it allows the user to try out certain worlds without affecting any documents.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Find out what you're looking for in a QMS system and see if Arena falls within that category. If you're looking for a QMS that provides live feedback data for manufacturing, this might not be the best option for you.
Arena: The All in One Package
What do you like best about the product?
The value Arena brings to our company is that all of our information is accessible in one tool. From Items to sourcing to change management to quality to training. The ease of use for our users (employees and suppliers alike) is of the upmost importance and we haven't heard any complaints. From an audit perspective the auditors love it as there is history and improvements in processes are tracked in the changes and quality modules. The ability to share information with suppliers is important and speeds up our manufacturing processes. I find that once users are trained either in group training sessions or as individuals they catch on really quickly and are more likely to use the tool. As an administrator and trainer, I am able to offer insights and suggestions on how we together can make improvements that benefit everyone. I would also like to note that Arena Customer Support is the best I've ever experienced. They really work with you to answer your questions or help by offering their advice.
What do you dislike about the product?
After many years using Arena, I can't really list anything that I dislike about the tool. When I do find that there are areas where I would like to see additional functionality, I do register an enhancement request.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Change Management, communication to teams and suppliers which speeds up changes and rework if required in a short amount of time.
On-line interaction and problem solving requiring less meeting time in a group environment and allows for the problem to be solved in record time.
Quality Management, able to conduct MRB via an NCMR, track SCAR's for supplier score card input, CAR for corrective and preventative actions, and many other applications.
We are using the Projects module for APQP phase gate tracking.
