Searching by function and the ability to access revision history within each document

Uploading large quantities of files is very time consuming.

What do you like best about the product?
First of all, Arena is user friendly software, it's very easy to navigate through it and find the information that you need, second, even the basic Arena package offers a lot for businesses, and lastly the customer support, their respond is fast and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I use Arena since 2014, I did not have any issues with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly we use Arena to store Item Master, BOM information, track Engineering requests and changes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend Arena to companies that want to track any type of changes to Item Masters, BOM and drawings. Arena links all this information plus history of all changes and requests.

What do you like best about the product?
The basic PLM information is easy to create and control. It's user friendly, which reduced the learning curve and allowed me to ramp up my productivity in a short time. The ability to open a specific file and access multiple linked information within that file without having to open multiple screens. The updated ability to upload files through drag and drop. Centralized location for compliance documentation associated to items within a product. Arena is a good tool for managing complex Bill of Materials and supplier/sourcing relationships. Sourcing info is easy to find, and it's easy to see where a specific component is used. Turn around time is short and the approval process is easy to manage.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface is not very visually appealing. The search functions are not always the best. I have to specify search criteria before I search. I would prefer to enter a part number or file name and have it just search by the entered information. No spell check.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Document control and record retention. We primarily utilize ARENA for part and document management. The main feature of ARENA that makes it an efficient tool is the ability to easily connect related parts. If a new part is generated, it is very easy to build out a BOM and attach all relevant documentation. Arena allows me to maintain engineering drawings at each revision level and quickly go back to view previous versions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Arena was extremely easy to deploy and implemented on time. The implementation team was a great help and is always there to support when needed. I also find that when sending suggestions for improvements or changes they are super quick to respond, which is great in a fast-paced industry like ours. Arena has been instrumental with many users working from home as information is always available by all at all times. Arena is well suited for document management and building BOMs for products. Organization involvement for approval on certain items is wonderful.

What do you like best about the product?
customer support in arena is very good and are quick to reply and answer our needs. I like the freedom on being able to create the templates to fit your need. Buying the product package that includes courses on how to set up arena is extremely beneficial to understand how to create an effective template for your organizational needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
some of the processes are redundant can be made better by changing the way it is implemented. A lot of the stuff that requires manual attention can be automated. Setting up arena can be hard especially without the tutorial series offered by the arena. The number of people familiar with arena is still limited and could be hard to source people to work on and could lead to a long training plan to bring people up to speed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
QMS and PLM problems.

Great quality management system

What do you like best about the product?
With the newest update, you're able to drag and drop files to upload. Once you have the workstation set up, it's easy to create new items and route for approvals. It's very user friendly and the ability to report out data makes it useful for analysis.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that when you search items, the default is only 20 items and you have to "select all" every time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a fast and easy way to manage all your quality documents, drawings, work instructions, and test protocols and reports that are required per ISO / FDA regulations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I've used Master Control, QAD, and various other software. Arena is one of the best and they update it regularly.

What do you like best about the product?
Extremely organized and regimented - perfect for intensive quality management systems; reliable
What do you dislike about the product?
Not the best user interface - could be a bit more user friendly; for new employees, it takes a decent amount of time to train and get used to system
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At first, Arena started out as a basic quality management, but now as we grow as a business we are using it to solve other problems like supplier change requests and marketing data storage. Especially as our team grows in size, it provides us with a common platform to monitor issues and upcoming changes and allows us all to stay on same page and not forget about tasks.

System is reliable and does what you need it to do!

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to understand interface and easily accessible files.
What do you dislike about the product?
A bit confusing to access certain QMS documents without proper knowledge. No clear path to some files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving business QMS issues. Benefits are that it is much easier to use than previous software/methods.

What do you like best about the product?
Simple GUI and User Friendly. No complex features. I like the report tool which is easy to handle compared to other PLM tool in the market. I like the feature to add additional attributes for each company users. I like the update and training that Arena gurus are scheduling quarterly. Help tool within the Arena is helping us to train other people and videos and screenshots used under that help is great. I like the file feature which is supporting lots of file format. I found Administrators have good right and very easy to operate in work space setting. Linkage between all worlds to ECO which is great feature compared to other PLM tools available in the market. Supply chain department is happy to see the amount of information that Arena allows to add for supplier creation and supplier items which is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see more simple Disposition of parts. I would like to see more integration to current ERP tools available in the market. Not having this feature sometime creating integration problems and customer has to spend more money to buy additional software so PLM and ERP can talk to each other. I would like to see the more powerful Integration between CAD tools and Arena PLM.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using Arena PLM for change management and data management. The most important benefit is easy admin rules and few click to get results and multiple way to get results.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend Arena to others. I have extensive experience on Enovia, SAP, Oracle 11i and other PLM platform. I like Arena the most because of ease of use and simplicity.

Solid PLM System with Constant Evolution and Improvements

What do you like best about the product?
Arena has a clean UI with a solid backbone that enforces change management rules at a fundamental level. Every part of Arena was designed around proper change management practices and it reflects very well to easy to follow changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The overall system can be rather slow, with me waiting to click on the next item before the screen has finished loading. This is not just in large queries, but also just in item creation, supplier item creation, and swapping tabs within Arena. Additionally, there are some automation features to speed up change management, like routing lists, yet there are no systems for adding lists of people to be notified or lists to add supplier access to the change, which can become sluggish when there are 30 members from my CM that need access to each change.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Like with any PLM and QMS system, benefits include better quality and control of BOMs, components, and changes. As stated in what I like about Arena, the change management process and UI make it intuitive and easy to get through the system and constantly push out new changes.
