Powerful and useful tool
What do you like best about the product?
You always have the most updated document and the working revision. In addition, you can customize Arena to your needs and manage Quality processes, approvals, etc....

The graphics and the difficulties in using some part of it

What do you like best about the product?
Our help team that consisted of Frank Farls and Mitch Mitchell was amazing. Always ready to help me with any small issue and look for solutions to my problems. Also I like how intuitive Arena is. It looks good and has a lot of helpful functions.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is little modality. If there is a feature that I would like but doesnt exist for me, then it most likely wont, because everyone uses the same arena.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Setting up our BOM in an easy to follow sheet. Previously we had our BOM in excel and it was always hard to keep track of everything. The BOM view and item information you can add is extremely helpful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look into its features and make sure it fits your needs. Very good for smaller firms that dont have the capacity to have their own servers or PLM team.

Search items by part numbers and change order number.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't find items from different types of files

Track Change order and training records.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the links between tickets, items, change orders, and the likes. It makes it easy to keep a detailed history and provides support to look back at descicions, tasks, specs, configurations as questions come up.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the interface. The way the site is setup feels clunks as you often view several tabs on a page. Each tab has to load a new "page" instead of the tabs being integrated into each page somehow. This leads to lots of clicking and waiting for pages to load. On many pages to edit the information shown, you have to go to a different tab or page or sub page tab or menu. To do almost any task, you have to dig a few pages down to get to the info or change it. I would advise moving "tabs" onto one page or having options on a page change as you click to edit instead of opening new pages to edit the info.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving our configuration management and colaboration issues, as well as issues with losing supporting documents.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how much help information there is at your disposal once your an arena member. The tips&tricks videos have been extremely helpful, just as our arena contact people who have been great teachers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the functions are a little hidden or confusing to understand when trying them the first couple of times. Editing values & categories took me forever to find the first time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a small startup, we are still struggling a little bit in setting up our systems and making sure everyone has access to the same information. Regarding our BOM, Arena was the perfect fix for our situation. We went from a kind of rough Excel sheet to a beautiful BOM in Arena.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely go for it if you are looking for a way to better organize important files and BOM systems.
It is not as flexible and user friendly as other systems I have used in the past

Limitations on customization.
Creation of "attributes" is rigid
Formating of "final" templates is not user friendly
Attributes cannot be used more than once on each section (ie. date, responsible, etc)

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quality processes like Non Conforming Material Reports, Corrective Actions Reports, Supplier Corrective Action Reports, 8Ds have been implemented.
We tried to use the Document Control module as our solution but found it difficult to fit our business. Using another solution instead.
We also tried to link it to NetSuite, but not all the functions can be linked. For example, drawing reviews, material receipts with NCMRs and SCARs and PPMs, supplier scorecards, reports, etc.
We were not able to link the scrap tickets to NetSuite inventory management.

A well organized S/W for Product Life Management.

Most of the products information are on the same platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Easy to miss direction due to too big data bank.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Engineering changes can be communicate to all related functions for prepare the changes in advance.

One of the best PLM and QMS tool!
What do you like best about the product?
Arena works on the cloud, hence it doesn't need a dedicated computer server for the operations. It runs on all the operating systems which makes it from other plm tools. It's very user friendly and easy to operate. It is one among the best tools for document control which keeps track of the document revisions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since the documents need all the required approvals before moving to the production, that makes the process time consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use arena for BOM and documents management. It keeps track of the document revisions and updates automatically without being worried about it.

Highly recommended for document management
Arena is very nice for organizing things

Some things like linking documents for certifications are a bit strange.

I find the search and notification features the most beneficial.

Sometimes the login and security can be problematic but the level of security is required I know.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am notified in a timely manner of changes to documents, the benefits help me quickly make changes based on new specs and documents being delivered to me. It is helpful for a just in time environment.

I recommend using this platform especially if you are managing multiple sites or working with contract manufactures requiring some access.
