What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate most about Conga CLM is the wide range of options it offers for generating and sending documents. Depending on the scenario, you can choose from various processes, which makes it very adaptable to different needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
When working with large documents, Conga CLM can occasionally become sluggish, which is frustrating since our business depends on the fast generation and processing of documents.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Without standard templates, clause libraries, central visibility of obligations (e.g., renewals, expiries, termination rights), organisations face legal, financial and reputational risk.
With templates, pre-approved clause libraries, automated workflows and integration (e.g., with CRM like Salesforce), contracts can be generated, negotiated, approved and signed more quickly. This means you (or your team) spend less time chasing paperwork and more time on value-added work.

Conga X-Author for Contracts is a significant differentiator in the CLM space, especially when it comes to document generation and contract negotiations. Conga XAC features a clause library that enables contract managers to keep clauses updated with the latest approved changes and legal language. Without a centralized clause library like this, the risks associated with manually reviewing and updating clauses can become a major challenge during negotiations. Conga XAC allows contract managers to negotiate more efficiently with customers by preserving content controls and maintaining contract formatting throughout the process.

At times, we feel that the support services can be rather expensive, especially when there is a need to enhance certain functionalities by introducing new, complex custom flows that integrate smoothly with the OOB CLM flow. Aside from this, it is an excellent tool that effectively addresses all of our contractual needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Conga CLM has significantly reduced the manual processes involved in handling different contract types, which previously added complexity to our contract lifecycle. With Conga CLM, we are now able to scale our business more efficiently and effectively, while also improving visibility across the organization. Conga provides solutions that help our team review contracts quickly and conduct negotiations without unnecessary delays, all while maintaining accurate track changes throughout the negotiation process. Overall, Conga CLM addresses the gaps in our contract lifecycle management and supports effective localization.

Among its most notable features are end-to-end contract automation, AI-powered contract intelligence, a centralized repository with advanced search capabilities, robust clause and template management, comprehensive audit history and version control, as well as detailed reporting and analytics. The list of features is extensive, yet despite this, the platform remains very user-friendly and straightforward to implement and integrate.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, bug fixes can take quite a while and often require several escalations before they are addressed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since adding Conga CLM to our solution suite, we have observed significant improvements across several key metrics. Easy Template Mapping, But New Version Lacks User-Friendliness

It is easy to map fields on the templates and migrating the templates from different orgs

The newer version of X-Author for CLM is not very user friendly like version 1 so it gets difficult when you have clauses for multiple templates

Perhaps we can consider adding a more intuitive and user-friendly way to search for clauses, segments, or pricing grids, along with an easier interface to view and work with them efficiently. This enhancement would help users quickly locate the required components and streamline their workflow.

Document Assembly Ruleset Makes Clause Management Effortless
What do you like best about the product?
We appreciate the Document Assembly Ruleset feature, which allows us to filter multiple clauses using child object fields. For example, if we want to display three clauses based on line item fields, we can do so easily. This approach creates only a single content control in the template, making it much simpler for us to review the template if any issues arise.
What do you dislike about the product?
X-Author is a very hard product to work with. We face many issues, such as it sometimes stops working, crashes MS Word, or the extension itself gets disabled. Even after changing our system, we still experience these issues intermittently. We need to reach out to support to fix this, which delays our work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Conga CLM and its X-Author for Contracts for template development. X-Author makes it easy to develop templates for our Order Forms, MSA, and other types of Agreements. CLM also provides query filters through which we can filter templates for specific agreements, ensuring the end user selects the right template and avoids sending the wrong document to the client.

What I appreciate most about Conga CLM is its comprehensive capabilities in contract creation, analysis, execution, and maintenance. It standardizes, streamlines, and automates the entire contract process, beginning with initial requests and continuing through drafting, redlining, sending for signatures, securing documents, supporting negotiations, managing obligations, and renewing contracts. The platform is easy to use, simple to integrate, and straightforward to implement, making it suitable for the business needs of organizations at all levels.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, we find that Conga implementation partners are not fully equipped with knowledge of the complete end-to-end solution. This often leads us to depend heavily on support or experts from Conga itself, which can be quite time-consuming, especially during implementation phases or critical periods such as upgrades or when handling high contract volumes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool has significantly reduced the time required for contract management, especially during periods when we handle a high volume of contracts and need to secure deals quickly. Its integration and compatibility with Salesforce have made it easier for us to manage page layouts, customize agreement actions, add custom links, and handle user and profile management through user permissions. Additionally, we can secure agreement documents by implementing agreement protection features. Previously, we faced issues with support services from another vendor, but with Conga, we have experienced excellent customer support. Their teams are highly knowledgeable and technically proficient.
