What do you like best about the product?
I love being able to send commands to multiple devices at one time. Working with scripts and policies is super easy and intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think when you search, the results page should be customizable. I know you can pick the columns, but I would even rearrange those.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping staff and students utilize their iPads better, or helping them fix apps that are stuck on install. Overall just making it easier for them to do what they need in an education environment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look at the JAMF forums. Great resource if you have questions regarding features and how to utilize them.

Great to Manage Mobile Devices in Higher Ed.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Makes it very easy to Manage Apple Devices on Campus, deploy software, look at inventory, generate reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
If someone hasn't used Jamf Pro before, sometimes there can be a bit of a learning curve before they can master it. But that comes with almost all software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf makes it easier to manage devices and assist users who might not be in the same building. Self Service allows them to have powerful software and resources, customized to the user, right at their fingertips.

Great product that has solved a serious audit finding

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf makes it possible for us to setup new devices quickly and get them out to users. Also we needed the ability to update or remove applications for security reasons. Jamf has made this all possible for our devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
We haven't really encountered any downsides to Jamf. Maybe the only dislike is that we can't add old Macs to DEP like we can iPhone and iPads but that's an Apple limitation right now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Jamf all Mac users had admin rights. We had an audit that found not only should our users not have admin rights but that we had no way to manage devices remotely to ensure they were up to date. Jamf solved both of these. Users can install apps via Self Service and do not need admin rights to do so. We also wanted the ability to locate and remote wipe mobile devices if needed. Our campus recently updated their security baseline to allow users to get admin access if they go through several trainings and get the proper signatures. We can give these user admin access via the Priviledges app through Jamf. It also allows us to take that permission away quickly if needed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great product. Reviewed other vendors but even Apple recommended Jamf.

Streamlined workflows

What do you like best about the product?
The best part about JAMF is the robust features that allow our IT team to streamline day-to-day tasks and make device use much simpler for the end-user.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can sometime be daunting to wade through the user portal to find best practices that will really benefit your organization. While this user community, JAMF Nation, has lots of content, It can be hard to pull out and examine which parts of it are actually relevant and usable to our own situation. Would like to see a portion of that community dedicated to more specific use cases and best practices for each.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to distribute devices to students and staff EXTREMELY FAST! Set up is all done on the backend within JAMF Pro. We are often able to hand a brand new, unopened device, right to the user. As soon as they open it, it is updated with all of their personal, relevant apps and content. On top of that, we are pushing relevant content, like apps, ebooks, and webpages, to our devices with just a few clicks
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely consider the great support from JAMF and include the user community, JAMF Nation. There is so much useful information in JAMF Nation. It will become your 'first line of defense' for support.

Still the best product out there, but still a lot of work to do

  • October 17, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Usability and extensibility. Jamf grow extensively over the last years, but the interface didn't get confusing, which is a big benefit.
What do you dislike about the product?
The handling of configuration profiles. Especially dealing with "Custom Settings" profiles and the lack of editing them within the web interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sounds strange, but I've resolved ANY problem so far. I'm using Jamf for almost seven years now, but in that time there were no customer demands I was not able to deal with. The hugest benefit is the handling of Jamf itself - it doesn't matter if you're managing 10 or 10000 devices - using Jamf is still the same.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Simple question: do you REALLY want to manage your Macs? => don't consider about the price of Jamf Pro - it's definitely worth.

JAMF – A BETTER USER EXPERIENCE FOR APPLE USERS

  • October 16, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf Pro is a dedicated solution for the Apple ecosystem. It provides full support and is always ready to manage the latest iOS and macOS operating systems. It is also the highest rated and most frequently chosen EMM (Enterprise Mobility Management) solution by clients. Its simple interface and a wide range of functionalities ensure the full integration of Macs with the company environment. In my daily work I use a MacBook managed by means of Jamf Pro, thanks to which I can indicate the most useful functions of the Apple device management system from the user’s perspective.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a an expensive solution but it's worth it - should be treated as investment
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Zero-day support

Apple offers regular software updates to Macbook users, and Jamf Pro has been offering support on the day when the new system is released for years now. Thanks to this, I can install updates and enjoy the new features offered by Apple the very next day following the release of the new macOS or iOS – without worrying about compatibility with installed applications and business systems.

2. Self-Service

Do you willingly leave your computer to the IT department when something stops working or you need to install a program or an update? Sometimes it can be a matter of an hour or so, but often it is necessary to leave the equipment for several days, which stops you getting work done. Personally, I value the possibilities offered by Self-Service in this area. This is a kind of self-service company store that allows me to install new programs, updates and even to fix malfunctioning elements of the system by myself. It is also possible to send a request to the help desk via the Self-Service platform. Thanks to Jamf Pro I can be sure that my computer is properly managed, but it is done in a way that does not affect my work.

3. Zero-touch deployment

When I received the Macbook on the first day of work, I did not have to configure it by myself. It was actually ready to use immediately after unwrapping. Thanks to integration with Apple Business Manager (a portal for IT administrators) Jamf Pro allows the company to provide the user with Apple equipment directly. When you switch the device for the first time, all adequate configurations and settings are installed automatically.

4. App Store and Apple ID

In the everyday use of Apple devices at work it is also important for me to be able to download applications acquired by my company from the AppStore without providing my own Apple ID. This is important, since in business swift access to the latest applications is an absolute must-have.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
To sum up, Jamf makes every effort to facilitate Apple users’ everyday work. Thanks to Jamf Pro, working with the devices becomes more pleasant, and management is simpler and more intuitive. Currently over 30,000 companies around the world use the Jamf Pro system, including companies such as SAP and IBM. The number of Apple devices managed by Jamf is impressive, amounting to 5.2 million. So it is worth betting on proven solutions used by millions of users worldwide and trusting the best in terms of managing devices with the Apple logo.

Jamf Love

  • October 11, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to package and send out applications, scripts, and configuration profiles.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some really annoying PIs out right now that make life a bit difficult.
1) Multiple duplicate configuration profiles being sent to the computer which causes some configuration profiles to not work. Happening on LOTS of computers. Fix is manual one at a time.
2) iPads that have done an Erase all Contents and Settings will have apps that were previously installed via Self Service get automatically installed after the wipe.
3) VPP App Timeouts: Repeatedly happening and only fix is to refresh the content in the token and clear the failed commands on the device. This happens repeatedly for various apps in the Mac App catalog.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping fleet applications up to date.
