Galaxy does what we need it to do to increase our metadata management maturity
What do you like best about the product?
It enables us to centralise all our metadata into one single place
Easy to navigate; so user friendly
Good to customise layouts to our business needs
Role base access control is good
Like the glossary parent to child set up... good way to group approved terms

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Able to indentifty what data we have available, where it is stored, who owns and how it can be accessed. Also determine where is used and the critically of it. Offering quicker insights so faster decsions can be made.

The only point is that the adoption of DataGalaxy may require a learning period for teams unfamiliar with the platform, which could temporarily slow down operations.

DataGalaxy has enabled overcoming the challenge of metadata dispersion by centralizing information from various data sources. This improves the visibility of our data sources and facilitates the search, discovery, and sharing of crucial information.

What do you like best about the product?
The product is a common place for Business and IT, including a glossary that is the key to speak a common language and understand each other. The graphical lineage makes it easy to analyze the data travel. This is the solution to forget your Excel glossaries, difficult to share and update.
What do you dislike about the product?
If only my company could have known DataGalaxy before !

This cloud solution is very easy to deploy. You can connect from everywhere. Thanks to the customization, you can choose the level of the information you load

What do you like best about the product?
DataGalaxy is a real life changer for data steward or basically anyone who's involved in data governance.
On a "data" point of view, you can configure basically the entire tool to your company's standards, and the several menus are flexible enough to allow you to customize it your way.
On a "end user" point of you, you can easily retrieve all info on any managed data (definition, example, usage in the integration jobs, workflows, ...) by yourself without "tracking" whoever is in charge of the data.
On a "data" point of view, you can configure basically the entire tool to your company's standards, and the several menus are flexible enough to allow you to customize it your way.
On a "end user" point of you, you can easily retrieve all info on any managed data (definition, example, usage in the integration jobs, workflows, ...) by yourself without "tracking" whoever is in charge of the data.
What do you dislike about the product?
DataGalaxy might be tricky to apprehend.
There is a lot of concepts, objects, relations, and some of them are not "instinctive".
And as the tool allows you to basically do whatever you want, it might be confusing.
You have to test things by yourself, to see how it works to get it.
Choose wisely your partner for the integration, and do not hesitate to ask for help, the learning path will be much easier than if you try to do it by yourself!
