Once you get how it works, DataGalaxy changes your life
What do you like best about the product?
DataGalaxy is a real life changer for data steward or basically anyone who's involved in data governance.
On a "data" point of view, you can configure basically the entire tool to your company's standards, and the several menus are flexible enough to allow you to customize it your way.
On a "end user" point of you, you can easily retrieve all info on any managed data (definition, example, usage in the integration jobs, workflows, ...) by yourself without "tracking" whoever is in charge of the data.
On a "data" point of view, you can configure basically the entire tool to your company's standards, and the several menus are flexible enough to allow you to customize it your way.
On a "end user" point of you, you can easily retrieve all info on any managed data (definition, example, usage in the integration jobs, workflows, ...) by yourself without "tracking" whoever is in charge of the data.
What do you dislike about the product?
DataGalaxy might be tricky to apprehend.
There is a lot of concepts, objects, relations, and some of them are not "instinctive".
And as the tool allows you to basically do whatever you want, it might be confusing.
You have to test things by yourself, to see how it works to get it.
Choose wisely your partner for the integration, and do not hesitate to ask for help, the learning path will be much easier than if you try to do it by yourself!

DataGalaxy helps us to centralize all the knowledge around our data.
It contains the definitions for our business units, associated business rules, examples, and how data is used in the company (which dashboard, which workflow, ...).
Before we implemented it, our data team has to answer to the same question from different users several times a week. Now, users are independent to search info and know who to reach out to in case of question.
From an IT point of view, DataGalaxy helps us to :
- Gather all our data flow in one tool
- Track more easily where data is coming from and how it is used
- Identify pain point and possible errors more quickly

Nothing at the moment. Futhermore DataGalaxy is continuously evolving based on user voices.

Many beneifts for our company :
- for our regulatory team, possibility to have real time catalog of the personnal and sensitive data,
- for our IT team, very easy to document the interfaces/flows, to analyse the impacts of some evolutions, to have a complete view of our urbanization,
- for business, very usful to describe the data and share it with all the users from all the directions,
- for all, to have only one place to share the business and technical views and thus facilitate the implementations of new process and systems.
