Business-oriented data catalog to increase your organization's data literacy.

What do you like best about the product?
The proposed metadata model is flexible and easy to understand. It is highly customizable allowing you fit its adoption within use cases or help you increase the knowledge around data. The product has several connectors for the most common technologies with accelerates its implementation and provides a user-friendly interface for users to increase its adoption.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although the product is super flexible and the documentation is good, it lacks concrete examples (at least from an industry standpoint) to further increase its expansion. Another point is its lack of granular assignment of access and securities to ensure that the right people can maintain their particular objects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Increase data literacy across the organization
Understanding of what data is used where to ensure that necessary controls are in place to address any potential risk
Mature governance and stewardship by democratizing the data to allow for new insights to be attained

What do you like best about the product?
I like how simple it is to administrate and all functionnalities (APIs, Azure users management...)
What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest as an administrator I don't truly dislike something about Datagalaxy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Datagalaxy is now our main support to rely of for our Data Governance strategy.

What do you like best about the product?
- Very user-friendly interface
- Easy to handle
- Power of the tool (glossary / data lineage...)
- Support from the Datagalaxy team
- Positive feature improvements over the years

- The different concepts can be quite subtle
- Quite a few things currently need to be entered manually, but the 2024 roadmap announces various very positive automations

What do you like best about the product?
Their professional service is very helpful. The product fits perfectly our needs and it customizable enough to create the best user experience for our internal users.
What do you dislike about the product?
After a slow start, everything is ok for us and we like the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted to unify our business and technical views in order to facilitate the data discovery and the decision making process both from our business and our tech.

The tool is very comprehensive, the first steps without guidance are not so simple despite the fairly detailed DataGalaxy University.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Present and share the company's Data strategy with the collaborators. Enable the entire organization to become familiar with the data and speak the same language.

What do you like best about the product?
The approach is very focused on reconciling business units with DATA and technical teams.

The UX/UI is particularly well-crafted, making its use very pleasant.

The integration of plug-ins in WEB browsers greatly supports business units and end users.
What do you dislike about the product?
The terminology must be perfectly mastered and explained to the stakeholders.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The vastness of information, of data, radiating across numerous application domains, must be gathered into a single point, the DATA PLATFORM. It is imperative to map, "connect the dots" so that the professions know the origin of the DATA.

The activity tracking widgets within the solution are not sufficiently developed from the moment we have significant activity.

DataGalaxy allows for the centralization, accessibility, and facilitation of data sharing between business and IT.

What do you like best about the product?
The design is great! The different modules allow for documenting the existing decision support system. The regular updates are appreciated, like the diagrams and campaigns! The team is French, pleasant, and responsive.
What do you dislike about the product?
That 3 Steward licenses on our plan.
No connector for DigDash, our DataViz tool yet --> coming soon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data Galaxy allows for impact analysis on our decision-making information system, whether it's a business term evolving with current events affecting indicators, or technical data taking different input values and impacting reports, for example. It also enables the entire company to have a common vocabulary for business terms and indicators, validated and updated in a single platform.

Strangely, some of it's strenght are also it's weaknesses. For example, since you can personalize every interface of the product, it can be overwhelming to organize everything before hand
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Datagalaxy helps us organizing all our data, and setting up data products with a common language and ease of use for all our business users
It was hard before Datagalaxy for a user to clearly know what data was available and how and where to find and consume it
