Review of IBM turbonomic
What do you like best about the product?
Its get in terms of a powerful analystics or diaplaying how various systems are working. It gives detailed patterns of each components to easily identify how well everything will run and utilize resources effectively. It allows us for forecast requirements of resources and analyze better.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation doesn't seem to be great and also we face errors with installation very often. Apart from this the pricing should be little flexible
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for optimizing performance by resource utilisation, workload management, scaling based on analytics. Identify resources requirements of individual component to better prevent any downtimes.

The best I like about IBM Turbonomic is its Scalability and Flexibility. It can dynamically scale resources up or down based on demand, helping to optimize resource allocation and control costs.

Its complexities. Some users may find the initial setup and configuration process complex or overwhelming. And integrating IBM Turbonomic with existing IT infrastructure and management tools might require effort and expertise.

Turbonomic provides real-time monitoring of your entire infrastructure, including applications, virtual machines, containers, storage, and network infrastructure. Complexity: Due to the sophisticated nature of the platform, there may be a learning curve for users who are not familiar with APM or advanced machine learning algorithms.

For Non-Kubernetes environments, we don't get insights into the application context. Given the fact that the cloud provider's cost data is not really helpful at a granular level, tools like this should enable more context

Understanding the cost structures quickly, including reservations, and specific custom discounts, and finding quick wins for reducing costs. In the long run we hope to look at even more quality recommendations

It is simple to monitor our cloud infrastructure, detect anomalies, and take action to ensure smooth operations. Using IBM Turbonomic has greatly improved the performance metrics of our platform and application.

It is expensive. It may be good to provide more precise information on all interfaces because certain dashboards are simple to use while others may need considerable effort to learn and utilize

The Network Performance Management and AIOps products are handled by IBM Turbonomic. In order to manage the activities, it is also utilized for the application performance monitoring tool.

What do you dislike about the product?
Haven't experienced any negative feedback so far as it has been great in ensuring our processes are smooth and in return boosting productivity. It would be great though, if they would consider the cost of acquiring it to enable organization with budget contraints benefit from it.

Better distribution of resources has helped increase efficiency thereby boosting productivity.

Park Everything
What do you like best about the product?
You can long term park an RDS instance or cluster without having to reset every week. You can see real time cost forecasts and check individual days usage to best set your schedule. The tools are all there to save money on your time.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no way to see Amazon MQ charges or other things you cannot park but are part of an environment. It would be really nice if you could logically create an application template with all the parts that need to be parked together in one group.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are saving money on all of our dev instances. We realized that we are also using too many instances in some of our clusters and compared usage versus instance size.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do you have a solution to park your RDS instances? If not you need one because it can be the highest cost of any cloud service.
Good tool for VMware
What do you like best about the product?
vMotion is working perfectly fine in VMware environment

Tool is not supporting AIX and Oracle environments

one single tool for cross platforms like VMware, Nutanix, Cloud, SQL servers, Storage.

What do you like best about the product?
The service works as announced. If used wisely, you'll save a fair amount of money on your cloud resources. The scheduling feature is already present in Azure/AWS/GCP but only PMC can allow a team to centralize the scheduling of VMs in one single dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
The web UI is a little too quaint, and it would be nice to see a refresh on that side. Also, I would love to see some new mechanisms to attach schedules to VMs, e.g., by resource group names. It would also be good to extend the functionality to Kubernetes clusters, which requires more logic than simple VM shutdown.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use PMC to turn off an extensive VM infrastructure overnight, and this helps us save a lot of costs on unused resources. Besides that, this is also good for the planet!
