My experience with D2L
What do you like best about the product?
In addition to the solutions provided by D2L, I believe it is important to highlight the quality of support and service, which I consider essential. As a client, I feel extremely secure and comfortable knowing that my ideas, concerns, suggestions, and questions, whether technical or not, are always heard and analyzed with attention. This level of support is fundamental for a successful strategic partnership, and D2L manages to offer this in an exceptional manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
The solutions are good and when necessary, the support is very agile and assertive. I can't think of anything that displeases me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently, D2L primarily supports us with its LMS solution, which will be the foundation for my innovation projects in the LLF area. In addition to the traditional functionalities of an LMS, D2L stands out by offering us support for innovative initiatives, such as the implementation of digital micro-certifications in a native and easy way.

I love how robust the platform is. My 40k students never complain about instabilities.

I truly believe the support could be faster.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is providing my students with an environment for them to study and interact.

What do you like best about the product?
It's always up! You can count on accessing it at any time 24/7 with no problem of being offline. Also, with LTI 1.3 it's easy to integrate tools into it, and the customer support is always present when we need it. It's also easily implemented. I use it almost everyday.

There is nothing for now I dislike on it.

We're having Brightspace as our main LMS partner, helping our clients to solve their main gaps on giving their students a robust LMS.

What do you like best about the product?
We had some sessions of training at our school with Ivan Canales. It was really helpful . He gave us good strategies and tips so as to use the platform to the fullest.

We cannot upload the rubrics from a file.

What do you like best about the product?
D2L Brightspace has been a powerful tool that has helped modernize the Anáhuac University Querétaro, with constant updates that improve the experience of our users. Updates are constantly applied to help teachers and students have a simpler and more organic use, to digitize and automate processes.
At Anáhuac University Querétaro, we have promoted the constant use of the platform to upload content, develop activities, use the grade center, take attendance, and have records of progress and competency fulfillment of our students. All of this helps us have the necessary evidence for different accreditation processes, internal quality control, etc.

What do you dislike about the product?
Although it is not something inherent to the platform, I believe there is a need for more in-person meetings for LATAM where we can share experiences and meet providers that have integrations with D2L Brightspace.
Regarding the use of licenses, I would like a monthly usage report by type of licensing to be provided, as sometimes there is little visibility and the costs can become very high.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am pleased that generative AI is being integrated into various processes and tools, as I believe it can be very beneficial for teachers to reduce the time spent on content creation, questions, rubrics, etc.
Although we do not currently have the full acquisition of this version, the implementation of Creator+ (from the demo offered by D2L) seems very interesting to me, as all the interactive work tools are within the platform, are easy to configure, and are quite fun and useful, even for university students. However, something that concerns me is the potential technical failures when a course is exported, for example from one instance to another; considering that one was created with Creator+ and the other did not have it contracted.

Brightspace shines for designer flexibility
What do you like best about the product?
As a course designer, the flexibility is my favorite part of Brightspace. The D2L community pages have so many great templates and shared resources. I love the options to add tabs and accordians to pages as well as consistent page headers and footers. The checklists are another favorite feature. I have wished for all of these options when using another LMS. As a newbie, I really appreciated the Brightspace guided courses which got me pretty thoroughly acquianted with the platform quickly. There are still advanced features that I haven't mastered yet, but I am having fun learning because most of Brightspace is easy and intuitive to navigate.
What do you dislike about the product?
The area in which I'm hoping to see some additional features added is the reporting. I miss some of easy to generate and customize reports that I have used in another LMS.

I work in online education. We use Brightspace for all of our courses. It provides security, seamless content delivery, and community for our online students.

What do you like best about the product?
D2L has significantly enhanced the learning experience for our students at SAE Mexico. The platform's user-friendly interface and robust set of tools have made it easier for both instructors and students to engage in the learning process. Features such as discussion boards, assignment submission, and integrated grading have streamlined many of the day-to-day tasks, allowing our faculty to focus more on teaching rather than administrative duties. Overall, D2L has been a valuable asset in supporting our educational goals and improving the overall student experience.

While D2L has many strong points, there are some areas where it could improve to better serve the needs of SAE Mexico and our students. One significant challenge we've encountered is the limited storage space for assignment submissions, which has been a particular issue since our students often need to upload large files, such as multimedia projects and design portfolios. This limitation has occasionally caused delays and frustrations. However, we are actively working with D2L support to resolve this issue and explore solutions that will better accommodate our students' needs.

What do you like best about the product?
It is a very intuitive, accessible, and easy-to-use platform from both an administrator and user perspective. Its environment is very modern and cutting-edge. Its follow-ups and technical support once the platform is implemented make administration easier. From the purchase of the platform, you receive guidance and follow-up in the configuration based on your needs. Its integration is fast, agile, and without delays. You have access every day from different devices, making it easy to access information wherever you are.
What do you dislike about the product?
Being an LMS, the content of the platform is generated separately, as it does not come with preloaded courses. However, it has tools within it that facilitate the uploading and creation of courses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a geographical dispersion in LATAM, which makes it easier to reach any place on time and in the right manner, and due to the volume of personnel we have, it allows for both collective and individual management of employees. It also enables faster reporting.

What do you like best about the product?
The most useful feature of Brightspace is undoubtedly the Grade Center, especially for its ability to integrate assessment criteria in a clear and organized manner. This function greatly facilitates teaching work, allowing for detailed tracking of student performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
However, a limitation I have found is in the functionality of the "Manage Files" button, as it does not easily allow identifying the path of any stored file, which can complicate the efficient management of resources within the platform.

Brightspace has been an invaluable tool at the Universidad Iberoamericana, allowing me, as an instructor, to provide comprehensive support to both teachers and students. Thanks to its advanced features, I have been able to help users navigate their academic training more efficiently, ensuring that everyone makes the most of the available resources and that learning is dynamic and inclusive.
