Pleasant user experience

  • September 20, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Among the strengths, I highlight the intuitive navigation, customization possibilities and usability of the platform. For administrators, teachers and students alike, it is easy to learn how to use and navigate the resources.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like them to have more native interaction features and integration with a greater number of free plugins. It would also be interesting to optimize some reports, generate graphs and other visual resources for data analysis.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can't say

A newbie happy to learn

What do you like best about the product?
I'm a teacher with almost 20 years of experience, but this is my first time with Brightspace. I really like how easy it is to navigate the interface. As a previous user of other LMS, I find Brightspace's design very pretty and intuitive. I had no trouble designing my class and I could (only with the help of tutorials) set up dates, attendance lists, assignments, evaluations, and more.
Also, I love the way everyone at support service keeps in touch with us, letting us know the status of our cases. They, very kindly, make sure the problem is solved. By the way, I find the ASC Support Portal very easy to use to create a case and keep track of the process too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Something that can improve about Brightspace, I think, is the integration of certain encrypted content (forms, videos, or presentations) from other pages, which —sometimes— are not compatible. And, it would be fantastic to be able to have our online classes from the same platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Brightspace is our LSM platform for graduate and postgraduate programs. It gives us a very formal, institutional, and innovative approach to our educational process. It also provides insights about our students' and teachers' development and milestones throughout the academic cycle.

Complete Platform for Distance Learning Management

  • September 17, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
D2L Brightspace is a complete and robust solution for distance education. What impresses me the most is its intuitive interface and ease of navigation for both teachers and students. The platform offers a variety of tools, such as interactive quizzes, discussion forums, and detailed student progress reports, which facilitate performance tracking. The customer support is also excellent, always responding quickly and offering effective solutions for any problem.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although the platform is very efficient, the initial setup system can be a bit complex for new users. However, once configured, daily use is quite simple.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use D2L Brightspace to manage online courses and facilitate hybrid teaching. The real-time assessment and feedback tools were essential to improve student interaction and performance.

What do you like best about the product?
Intuitive platform
Possibility of mass course creation
Mass enrollment of students
Badges
Tracking reports
What do you dislike about the product?
Can improve: "student center" reports, needs to be more specific;
Accessibility;
Mass user (individual) editing, add and remove subjects at once.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been using D2L to manage our various courses from different partners. The platform has been intuitive for the students and has made their experience simpler and more effective.

Instructor and facilitator of Brightspace for teachers

  • September 13, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The access interface for students enables both linear and hypertextual reading.
What do you dislike about the product?
The structuring of the discussion space is carried out in three steps: it is more complex than needed to create discussions. Likewise, students' access to discussion topics could be more direct, with just one click to reach the question proposed for discussion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is used as a regular LMS in the Faculty. Teachers in face-to-face classes use it to share stuff and get students talking. For online classes, Brightspace does everything you need to teach and learn.

Being with D2L is all good!

  • September 11, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of using essential data, even for integrations via BI. I also like the fact that we can resolve our doubts in a simple way, always with someone accompanying us, being our success manager. It is advantageous because I can maintain even greater control over everything within Brightspace.
What do you dislike about the product?
There aren't so many "useless" things within the platform. I think everything within the platform has its usefulness for me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quality access and ease for students, generating fewer disruptions for the team as a whole.

Control over Student Learning

  • September 11, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
D2L's greatest strength lies in how easily we can track the academic progress of students throughout their entire academic journey. Being able to visualize daily the progress of learners enables greater involvement from both teachers and institutions, ensuring a just-in-time experience and better control over student dropout rates.
What do you dislike about the product?
D2L could improve its internal organizational structure when building courses. Being so used to Google’s structure, there’s a significant discomfort when working on the course creation setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The two major problems I was able to solve with D2L were the unification of multiple higher education institutions (HEIs) into a single environment, each with its own customized visual identity, and the improvement of student tracking, something I couldn't achieve with Canvas.
