It is a platform with many possibilities in the field of education or training.
What do you like best about the product?
The integration between the tools to evaluate student content, for example, activities, rubrics, and the grade center.
What do you dislike about the product?
The help material within Community is confusing in English and there is little in Spanish, and the concepts do not always transfer the same, making it complex or slow to find the information. In the help center, you don't always find support in Spanish. I think a more user-friendly accompaniment is needed for administrators, directors, and teachers because the potential of the tool at each level of participation is unknown or unclear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Content management (teachers)
Transparency in evaluation (students)
It is easy to identify when a teacher does not have or execute a class plan
It is easy to track students' work
It helps to identify the work structure of the teachers

Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a platform with a lot of potential, but you must have a clear implementation plan with your users to exploit its potential. It is also important to consider advice on which modules or tools you should have and which ones you shouldn't based on the needs of your institution.
Whenever there is a need for service, we can count on the company's partnership.
What do you like best about the product?
The LMS generally meets our needs, but currently, with the pandemic period we are experiencing, we can highlight the Bongo tool as the biggest differentiator.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation is not fully translated yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Brightspace has been serving three of our units, mainly in conducting classes during the pandemic.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Know that the LMS delivers more than just the basics. It's not just another virtual learning environment.
It is an extraordinary LMS and they have the best support that I know of.
What do you like best about the product?
The support, of course. The D2L team cares about the customer and tries to meet the expectations placed on it in the best possible way.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have any point that I dislike, the solution suits us perfectly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When the period pandemic started, my university didn't have any solution for virtual classes, and D2L solve this faster and better than all others.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Without doubts it has been an excellent and enriching experience to work with D2L. The application of agile methodologies is an incredible differentiator. It was the best option on our part to have chosen D2L.
Excellent Customer Service
What do you like best about the product?
Brightspace offers top-notch customer service through chat and phone support. We recently implemented chat support for our students, which has helped decrease the number of support calls received by our department. In my short three years with Brightspace, they have gone above and beyond to make our institution feel valued as a customer through support and even unique gifts. I especially appreciated the care packages sent during the middle of COVID to show appreciation for customers. Products all came from small, local businesses. This thoughtful gesture not only helped customers, but I'm sure also helped these businesses during such a difficult time. It's fantastic to see large companies contributing with small acts of kindness like this.
Brightspace also offers the best product on the market. The features are incredibly user-friendly for both faculty and students. I like the layout and structure of their platform. I am thrilled Brightspace implemented the quick grading feature but also like their traditional grading options. Brightspace is constantly improving its platform!

What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were a way to block students out of classes or accounts and provide a warning flag with why. This feature could help students who have failed to complete primer courses or have accounts on hold with our business office.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Brightspace for Higher Education purposes; however, we have found Brightspace to be beneficial as a repository for internal employee training materials and also collaborating in teams across our campus. We do house all of our courses within Brightspace, including courses offered face-to-face. Faculty are required to post their syllabi and all grades in Brightspace to allow students to keep up with their grades through the semester and refer back to classroom policies through electronic syllabi.
Customer Feedback a Top Priority for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
The Product Idea Exchange, an area for customers to request improvements, is constintaly monitored and updated with what's being reviewed, in a planning stage, and even in development. These ideas may be voted up/down by uses of their system. Great to see a company that values customer feedback for improvement!

What do you dislike about the product?
Some of our members have had slow support when calling in to submit their issues. Turn around time may be slow. Our workaround has been their online "Chat" feature is faster in getting a response for support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
During the pandemic, instructors were able to continue to provide excellent learning expierences for learners. The ability to connect in many ways: Announcements, Discussions, Chat, Video, etc. was invaluable during an increaded turblent time. D2L Brightspace made is easier to work form home for instructors, facilitators, and learners.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
D2L stays fresh and connects with their users to be a leader in Learning Management Systems.
D2L in Qatar
What do you like best about the product?
Love the Quizzing Module.... love the assignment Dropbox... love the Integration with ZOOM
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the design of the home page. The side burrns are a waste of screen estate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integration with Zoom has saved us during COVID.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend D2L based on the service alone.
A true EdTech Partner with a flexible platform that supports excellent student engagement.
What do you like best about the product?
The platform is very intuitive and flexible, it allows our university to teach and support students in the way we want. It does not drive our learning and teaching, but supports it. Brightspace has become the heart of our edtech eco system.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is very little to dislike, both the platform and the company are excellent to work with. If I had to choose something that could be improved, it would be the first line support, but we need it so little, that it isn't a true problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Following the global pandemic we moved to fully online delivery, Brightspace handled this brilliantly. We have now moved to a new pedagogy where we are introducing a strong blended learning approach. As I mentioned previously, Brightspace is at the heart of this change. Student engagement has increased following the introduction instructionally designed content that Brightspace handles brilliantly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend working with D2L, they are a true partner, not simply a supplier. Working from procurement, through implementation onto post go live and the continued customer success support is second to none.
Excellent product and customer service
What do you like best about the product?
Solid control over the platform - you can change almost everything. The customer service is excellent, and our Account Manager has been a fantastic source of knowledge and support. Top marks from me!
What do you dislike about the product?
You can't customize the look of the platform much, which might be tricky for some brands. There are 100 different ways to do the same thing which might a bit tiring at times, however this also gives you the chance to learn the platform better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Delivery and availability of learning material; we have some students who cannot physically attend classes so we can reach them online.
Flexible LMS with Useful Tools and Competent Support
What do you like best about the product?
D2L has been extremely easy to use, with a relatively short learning curve. The flexibility built into the system has allowed us to expand its usage beyond the standard LMS. It's begun functioning as our internal campus portal, and we are exploring using it to organized groups and clubs as well. It's also proving useful as a repository for other internal groups. The API is robust and powerful but definitely requires a programmer to use. Our onboarding and support teams have been responsive and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Brightspace suffers from the same feature that gives it its competitive edge: flexibility. One example is user permissions. There are about a hundred plus different settings to flip on for each role at each org level. Some permissions interact with each other or need to be flipped on together. The documentation can be contradictory, as there are so many permutations. Admin access should be relatively tight, with clear knowledge of who can change things. It can be easy to break many things in Brightspace otherwise.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our primary usage for Brightspace is as an LMS. It's functioning quite well in that respect. We've also adapted it with significant effort into becoming our internal campus portal. This adaptation has been quite useful, even at this early stage. We have been able to consolidate our technology stack and improve the overall user experience.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Your product team will rise to the level of your questions. Involve users from all stakeholder groups and technology usage abilities.
Great experience from concept to implantation. Support has been excellent.
What do you like best about the product?
One stop for all internal training for our Company
What do you dislike about the product?
Reporting could be improved with data sets
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Able to deliver training to 700+ staff.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great program to deliver training to employees.
