Brightspace makes it Easy!
What do you like best about the product?
There are too many great features to name, but here are the highlights:
1. Easy enough to use and get started in a short amount of time. The D2L team works with you to set up your LMS instance and help you get started.
2. There is a powerful back-end that allows administrators to control and customize the experience for administrators, instructors, students and anyone else that uses it.
3. Brightspace has a huge community of users that you can easily connect with to collaborate, ask questions, or provide help to.
4. Brightspace integrates with a multitude of service providers, like Bongo, TurnItIn, etc. to further customize the experience.
5. They have excellent customer success staff and account management staff who can help you to get the most out of your LMS.

What do you dislike about the product?
Brightspace is very powerful and has many options and settings, which can sometimes be difficult to navigate to find what you're looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Brightspace in an asynchronous school environment. New students join our school each day, but the system is so easy to use that students are able to get started learning the same day.
A streamlined LMS
What do you like best about the product?
An LMS platform deals with too many variables. Subsequently, a LMS is always prone to be confusing and convoluted. However, D2L Brightspace, seems to have been built with the user in mind. The platform provides the user with a streamlined version that allows both instructors and students to easily browse it without having to deal with the nuts and bolts. The emphasis put on the visual communication, makes it easier to quickly locate the most important functions as well as the categories.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I have found to be a bit clumsy is the emailing function. The icon located on the top part makes it more accessible, but the selection of addressees is not as intuitive as it is in any other platform. Also, although it works just okay for me, my students seem to hate Bongo.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
More than ever, Brightspace provides me with a solution that brings me closer to the idea of an actual virtual learning environment: The video assignments; Panopto and Perusall integration, among others, they work just fine towards achieving my teaching duties.
A complete tool for teaching university subjects
What do you like best about the product?
I love the platform, is really easy to use. First, all the assignments can be easily uploaded, defining a specific time for delivery. In the other hand, evaluations, through the questions library, are easy to set and grade.
What do you dislike about the product?
Is quite complex to make copies of evaluations or content to a new course. Also, I would like to change the process to evaluate assignments, you need to adjust constantly the weight of these assignaments in order to show the progress to my class.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. The benefits are amazing, I can control all the activities and evaluations in one single platform.
Game changer for a LMS (Brightspace)
What do you like best about the product?
Visually the platform is more dynamic compared to other LMS that are somewhat plain. It integrates with new and exciting apps (for video, interaction, evaluation), once you get used to the platform, is really straightforward to work with it. The company is trustworthy and in these uncertain times and where virtual education became a priority, we trust Brightspace and G2 as companies that are constantly reviewing the latest trends in virtual education.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a new platform compared with traditional LMS. It is not well known in Latin America and most of the training materials are in English.
When you are creating your course on the platform, there are so many options, personalizations, and tools that you can easily get lost, so be careful and try to work with some partner you can trust.
Sometimes, some adjustments must be made by the administrator directly from your institution due to the configuration of the tool.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problems: Migrating the traditional courses that you had on other platforms (sometimes it is not possible to transfer all the material, exams). Although Brightspace is a really powerful tool, they are still working and developing new tools.
Benefits: All the time the G2/Brightspace team are working to develop new features.
Brightspace was the solution for my institution, which integrated into a single one, all the virtual platforms that were managed. The platform is quite robust and there are high expectations for new developments and integrations. Brightspace is at the forefront compared to traditional LMS.

Express with total clarity to the company what your expectations are and measure the benefits you could obtain versus what you are currently doing with your information system.
Positive Experience
What do you like best about the product?
Personally, I feel it is mostly intuitive. There are multiple ways to use the tools for different learning objectives, which makes it easier to convert what would normally be a traditional F2F course to an online course. I like the ability to customize course shells since we are using them for courses and for training, I am able to create a shell that looks like a complete course, but the content is all training and remove elements that are not being covered in my training.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one thing that I do dislike is that certain permissions are attached strictly to the users. There are some functions that I wish I could control at the course level. I hear from instructors who would like certain things to be disabled/restricted or available, but I am unable to do that because it will cause problems across campus.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using D2L Brightspace as the LMS at an institution level, so we are using it at full capacity for F2F courses and training in addition to the online courses. The benefit is having the ability to access the necessary training when needed instead of relying solely on physical in-person training, particularly with adjuncts who may not be local.
BrightSpace a Life savior!!
What do you like best about the product?
It made everything easy and in order, and it made me be ready for the next semester and saved me time, and now I have a lot of my students work as backups. When I need to show something to the parents I just have to click, I have all my lesson plans in order, all the videos, and different examples that I use in different "Folders" I for any reason I decide to change exercise I just drag that particular lesson, I can use Videos, Pictures, etc.
The best is that now that we have been in online learning, hybrid teaching, the students in school and at home can see that we all are on the same page, using exactly the same place, learning exactly the same thing with the same examples.
When a student for any reason can come to class or by any chance is in another country without any problem they have connected and found everything they needed. no problems to upload or download.

What do you dislike about the product?
I have been having trouble linking my grades, I enter my grades but my students can't see them. I don't know why a few times my thing disappeared, at the begging, we all were learning how to use it, but after that It was frustrating that we were with the students in class and everything had disappeared, making that moment uncomfortable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I don't need to have tons of papers with me now it's digital and If the student did not upload their work you can see that and the parents too!!

Don't think about it it will make your life easier, you will have to work a lot at the beginning but once you have everything in the rest is easy...

The course information is always available, is easy to get any information about courses and specific topics. Information is always available, for my, as student, it's the most important things, because nowadyas we are studying in a virtual envioment, so there is a lot information that i need to re-study, in order to clarify what i misunderstood.
What do you dislike about the product?
Any teachers don't know how to organize their contents and need help from other people to get done what they want to.
It happened a few times that the teacher wanted to publish some content, although he believed he had published it, we (the students) could not find the content.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The course information is always available. Brightspace is an excellent repository for every course information so students can search, and study what they misunderstood. With de covid pandemic, the University has entered in a virtual fase, so students need to have information always available because it's not easy to enter all classes due to connectivity issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's essential to train teachers so they can solve their inconvenience, in my experience, they can solve almost anything, but it's always any uncertainty about how to make some things.
The teachers need to be organized in order to students can find al the information, at any time, so it helps also teachers and students to get the courses contents.

I am totally satisfied with D2L Brightspace
What do you like best about the product?
Allows users to plan assignments and dismiss them automatically. For me, what D2L Brightspace has most useful is: the ease of personalization and the tools for creating content (HTML, SCORM, video, etc.). The most relevant advantages are: Ease of use of the tools, integration with external tools, use of API (Application Programming Interface) and use on mobile devices. All this with security, reliability and the support of the D2L team.
What do you dislike about the product?
For me, what is less useful are the ready-made reports. I don't see any downside in using the D2L Brightspace.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are training hundreds of users from different companies in the Banese group. All done with quality quickly, safely ,and easily.

For those looking for a scalable, robust, easy to implement, and fully customizable LMS, the D2L Brightspace is the ideal solution. All of this with the support of the D2L team, not only for implementation but also for training and monitoring of the project.
Best LMS in Brazil
What do you like best about the product?
Interface, API integrations and LIT, awards. User-friendly interface that allows you to create learning paths. It is possible to gamify classes with Awards, release conditions for classes. Badge issuance. Connection stability. Content in PDF, HTML, DOCX is easily made available to students, in addition to providing the incorporation of external links via LTI or open link. This incorporation favors learning and makes the LMS more flexible and interactive, promoting greater student engagement in the virtual environment. Similarly, the LMS is friendly for tutors and teachers, allowing easy and user-friendly content customization. The cost-benefit ratio also favors the use of the LMS in small institutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Pulse App is just a portal for the web/mobile version, it is not an app in itself, which causes some issues depending on the device's native browser. Additionally, the student's progress is not tracked on some mobile devices, which negatively impacts the student's engagement and logical sequence of lesson progress. The export of reports from the Data Center does not have a user-friendly interface and flexibility of reports. There could be customization of themes and colors throughout the LMS area and not just in some points as it is currently. The class reports could have more data flexibility and more user-friendly infographics. The intelligent agents do not use artificial intelligence to communicate. The programming of intelligent agents is time-consuming and not intuitive. The self-registration panel is not user-friendly, customizable, and aesthetically pleasing; there could be a more pleasant and personalized interface to allow students to self-register in the LMS.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our biggest challenge was to promote student engagement in virtual classes. Given the positive points described (user-friendly interface, rewards, and app), we managed to achieve good performance and student involvement in virtual classes. We never had major problems, and some occasional inconsistencies were quickly resolved. The online support was always effective in responding to problem-solving and operational questions about the LMS. A great benefit is the Community, which has good collaborative articles, ensuring joint learning among various clients and countries.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a robust and stable LMS. It provides good elements for gamification and tools that engage students in remote classes.
