It is a powerful tool, very manageable and intuitive.
What do you like best about the product?
All the possibilities of integration with other platforms, their own tools, and in my case, the administration seems simple to me.
What do you dislike about the product?
not being able to carry out your own developments within the Brightspace environment, such as adding new native modules in the application. I don't like the Pulse application because in practice, for the contents or own tools, what it does is open the browser and I consider that the transition from the app to the browser is not very pleasant.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For the university community, the versatility and usability of the tool are very important, having the feature of being able to access from any device and being able to use any tool.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
be able to access product certifications for your clients, in my case as the platform administrator.
Brightspace K-12
What do you like best about the product?
Rolling out D2L Brightspace has been much easier than expected due to the support of our Brightspace success team. Having such strong, responsive connections at Brightspace has taken a lot of the pressure off of our IT/Ed Tech team. Our Brightspace team has offered advice and has been willing to create resources for our teachers, ensuring that the transition to our new LMS is smooth. The frequent check-ins are greatly appreciated.
What do you dislike about the product?
D2L Brightspace is an extensive resource. At times it has been challenging to locate the appropriate documentation for our specific integration questions. Responses to support tickets sometimes takes longer than we would like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Brightspace is providing more consistency in our teaching approach. It is also going to be a vehicle for sharing and streamlining our sharing of new curriculum resources.
Nice design easy to use interface
What do you like best about the product?
I like the look and feel of D2L and the ease with which contents are created
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the HTML templates are awkward and, if changed in the HTML editor, may produce disastrous results.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem I'm solving is straightforward and efficient communication with my students.
I am very happy with the platform.
What do you like best about the product?
It is an intuitive and easy to use platform. It has many tools for the development of face-to-face and virtual classes. Forums, assignments and quizzes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Does not have the journaling tool.
Integrate more LTI applications

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is an agile platform when uploading content.
Excellent platform, agile and intuitive.
What do you like best about the product?
Usability. It is a user-friendly platform that invites teachers to create content thanks to its simplicity and its connection with other applications. Its implementation has meant a motivating change.
What do you dislike about the product?
The jargon used is a bit complicated. Thus, building assessments, assigning them grades, and connecting them with rubrics is somewhat complex. I see a lot of potential, but it is not so easy to reach for the entire teaching community.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The evaluation/grading with rubrics is dynamic, once the teacher has prepared the connection between assignments/grades/rubrics. The main benefit is the direct feedback that students receive and the consequent record of evidence for accreditation processes (such as ABET).
One year experience
What do you like best about the product?
The user experience is the best thing about Brightspace, far from Blackboard learn orgininal experience and more complete than the ultra experience. For instructors and learners from this intitution, it has been a smooth transition from Blackboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
The mobile app Pulse should be more consistent with the platform. Instructors and Learners can´t perform some features as well as they do in the web browser version of Brightspace. Some LTIs are not available for integrating with brightspace. It seems to be more options than their competitors Canvas, Blackboard even Google Classroom.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The recovery options that offer Brightspace are different than Blackboard. One benefit is that instructors can recover parts of their courses without creating a case.
My experience has been excellent on this platform.
What do you like best about the product?
I like two things mainly, one is that I can have the entire course of my subjects as well as design activities easily. Additionally, it facilitates evaluation by allowing the management of a grade center.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are only two things I would like to be improved: one, that we could link the platform with educational applications, and second, that when copying content from other courses to a new one, it does not create loops.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Grade control and optimization of teaching time. For me, it is essential that the student can verify their activities, as well as have the content available to them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I consider that many educational institutions could use this platform.
The Brightspace is a very good LMS,
What do you like best about the product?
High availability, UX. with many qualities, the UX is excellent. Interconnectivity with other platforms is a plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
Gradeable activities are limited to 3 options: Discussion, assignments and quizzes. For example, it does not have a collaborative work tool (Native) where soft skills are promoted.
Another issue to improve is to include in the quizzes, interaction type questions (drag and drop). Another issue but not less important is that the questionnaires do not have the option to parameterize the closing of the questionnaire automatically when the mandatory time is over and it is graded.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Improve user experience and content accessibility, integration with Office 365 and TEAMS. Starting from 0 is complex and always needs an expert.
Brightspace has many advantages but also has many features to develop.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can design resources with HTML, the learning paths and the math question that allows designing a exam for each students with different data
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Brightspace does not have an anti-plagiarism tool.
2. Brightspace does not have a "wiki" tool.
3. BS does not weigh each rubric criterion.
4. BS does not allow to import rubrics.
5. BS does not allow you to evaluate each assignment attempt.
6. BS does not allow you to schedule when a resource (PowerPoint slide or test) can be available for students.
7. BS does not allow you to copy a unit within the same course.
8. BS does not individually assess a student that is working within a study group in case a student did not collaborate in a group assessment.

I love that I can design an exam for each student.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is an excellent LMS.
BS for distance and in person learning
What do you like best about the product?
- I like how the dashboard shows all of the courses in a mosaic style.
- Students can identify missing assignments through grades
- I like the little icon that shows that students submitted the assignment without me having to open it

What do you dislike about the product?
- I wish there was a way to post in bulk: That one announcement could be posted to more than one class
- glitchy sometimes
- I feel like getting to your end goal takes too many clicks
I wish we could incorporate our zoom links there, and kids could access the call through BS instead of posting the link on our announcements. Submission is sometimes glitchy. Sometimes, uploaded documents take some time to load or get stuck.
I wish there were some form that kids could edit a submission live.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having all courses available on the same platform. Having the same platform for administrative information and courses in the same format. We needed a way to communicate with parents and students through the same platform. I like that we have an app. The module format is easy to follow independently. We needed a platform that the students could follow independent
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you play around with your sandbox to get used to the navigation system
allocate enough time to draft announcements - maybe leave them scheduled so that it saves you time
play around with the grade book
have fun and do not be scaed to play around with the format
