What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work in Higher Education where double and/or second marking is practiced. D2L Brightspace is currently piloting a feature that will allow administrators and/or Unit Leaders to allocate their teaching/marking team to students for assessment marking and feedback. The pilot is at an early stage but there is a potential positive impact if this will be developed further for HEIs.
D2L was easy to navigate and helped to keep my class organized
What do you like best about the product?
D2L bright space was super organized and it made it easy for me to navigate different categories. I also appreciated the YouTube tutorials to learn how to use D2L.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only dislike I can think of is that I prefer a title of "exams" vs "quizzes."
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The organization is instrumental in making posting announcements, quizzes, etc fast and easy. It is also extremely fast to grade submissions.
Educator & Curriculum Developer
What do you like best about the product?
D2L is easy to use for the both the front end user (learner) and the developer/teacher.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some items require too many clicks to get to the end point.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can ogranize my course content, it's easy to evaluate and track students, and build community through the discussion tools.
Depends on the professor. Personal account settings suck.
What do you like best about the product?
If done well, it's very useful to have all your class content organized in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be very confusing for new teachers and markers to navigate.
Also the personal calender is garbage, should show things due on each date.
Also the personal calender is garbage, should show things due on each date.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's trying to be the one-stop-shop for educational resources but that only works if every prof uses it.
Clean and neat layout for both learners and administrators
What do you like best about the product?
Built in templates offer easy way to display materials.
I enjoy building a nice looking fancy site, but sometimes all you need is a simple eye catching tile to show students something new is available.

What do you dislike about the product?
The "content browser" is on the right, which may take some time getting used to. (It is easy after getting used to.)
The traditional left menu is easiest to use.
The traditional left menu is easiest to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Online training solutions. The pandemic pushed a lot of teaching and learning to online computer based training. There is no going back to traditional classroom once we can do them online self-paced.
Early days but looks very promising
What do you like best about the product?
It's very intuitive. Most things I want to do are easy to find and take little time to create. For the bits that are a little more in-depth, there is plenty of support out there both online and from D2L themselves. I'm really enjoying creating content in an environment that is clear and so much easier to use than our previous solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some restrictions around the roles and what each one can do, but that is something we can fix ourselves with a bit of trial and error. It's very early days for us at the moment as we only just started to create content so this section may have more added later!!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've taken a look at the road map, and there are a lot of things on the horizon that will help us as we use Brightspace more and more. As I said previously, we are at the beginning of our journey so not sure what problems we have to solve yet.
Very Useful for teachers and students
What do you like best about the product?
I like all the tools that Brightspace has available. The thing I like the most is that you can link activities with grades; it makes it much easier to grade students.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like a tool that allows me to create surveys for teams to grade themselves; it only saw a tool to create tests where you have a grade and a correct answer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This software allows teachers and students to be connected in a platform where you can find information, videos, links, and much more. It is like a classroom but online.
Wanted an LMS platform that provided flexibility with features to align with our unique needs

D2L Brightspace aligns with my company's statement "It’s our human touch that makes the technology transformational". Outstanding support staff. Thank you.

Developing courses require a lot of training, but once over that hump with the help of D2L's team, we expect to stand out in our elearning offerings.

It is most helpful to our students and me because it is just in one platform. Everything is there. We all need to log in and we can work anywhere.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is when a big file is uploaded. But it may be because of our school's internet connectivity.
