Excellent CRM
What do you like best about the product?
BrightSpace has been easy to adopt, transfer old courses, and make visually and in other ways exciting for my students. Compared to competitors it is far and away superior!
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel the BrightSpace community is weak. The champions program can be much more rebust that it currently is. Look at Cengages programs. There is a huge group of people to tap in to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
BrightSpace changes how our students interacted with the professors. It is Social Media meets the class room. We all seem to be more productive. Studet learning has increased.
Organize your teaching better, change the world.
What do you like best about the product?
I can create tests and schedule dates quickly; I love the mobile app I always use it from home. I can create quizzes and organize content for my students; it also allows me to build multiple courses and integrate with Google Drive and Onedrive, D2L offers a good variety of widgets for customization of the systems, which is fantastic; I feel happy since I can see the progress of my class in real-time, it has many attractive features for the academic area I like it a lot.
What do you dislike about the product?
D2L has created a tool to simplify and save time for teachers in an extraordinary way; the interaction with the student is excellent. However, there is always room for improvement along the way; for example, I would like more widgets for course customization, and I would like them to improve the iOS app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it to do academic evaluations, send courses to students, self-evaluations, and organize the material I teach daily; I can do quick assessments and send assignments to students to keep them fresh and busy.

To get content in one single sign on.

What do you like best about the product?
It's offering a comprehensive system for teaching and learning with innovative tools and features, and for different stakeholders such as instructors, students, program/curriculum designers and administrators.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some academic publishers haven't developed the interface with D2L yet, so sometimes it still requires multiple logins and management of different sites.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use the platform to deliver online and hybrid courses, which is capable of facilitating the student's learning, communications and collaborations. It's also to document the teaching and learning materials for curriculum design and improvement.
D2L Connection Event
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Brightspace is user-friendly. It's also easy to make changes and updates as an administrator. In addition, the provided help in various places is a bonus! I also just recently attended a D2L Connection event nearby! It was a great learning experience, and convenient that I could get there for a day!
What do you dislike about the product?
None really, that are tied to Brightspace itself, my dislike are more limited from within my organization
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Looking at changes in the industry, to help us better serve our students, such as AI, ChatPT, and other 'new' technology and the roles they play in higher education.
Tool with attractive and robust user interface with good documentation
What do you like best about the product?
I like its features for organising educational information and generating user-friendly course content. I also like that the documentation is very complete and detailed.
What do you dislike about the product?
No problem, it's just that the support isn't helpful as you thought.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Learning management is beneficial because it solves our mainly challenging problems for beginners because we can create and set up very engaging courses for students and include different tools and other activities like discussions and assignments.
A capable LMS that feels clunky
What do you like best about the product?
It works. Has a lot of bells and whistles and customisation options.
What do you dislike about the product?
Feels clunky to use. Too many features that feel like bloat. Some workflows feels unnecessarily difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping us distribute courseware via an online platform to students.
D2L documentation and training improvement needed
What do you like best about the product?
D2L Brightspace accommodates most of the features and functionality that we want to provide to our students within our classrooms. We have been able to apply the default templates provided to generate aesthetically pleasing course content, and the improved SCORM process allows us to create and upload Articulate products seamlessly within our courses.
What do you dislike about the product?
Brightspace is still struggling with its documentation and training materials. Most questions I have are resolved through a Google search and not through content on their Community site. They recently gave the site a facelift, but the content is still tough to find, located in too many areas, and organized in an illogical manner.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
D2L acts as our LMS and allows students to navigate through our course content relatively clearly and logically. It allows for release conditions, integrations, and design features that enhance student learning and course quality.
Good Platform With A Few Quirks
What do you like best about the product?
I have used multiple LMSs. I like the wide variety of features and the visual aesthetic D2L Brightspace offers.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are several inconsistencies across tools. What is an excellent feature in one tool should be universal to all tools, but that is often not the case.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
D2L Brightspace provides the learning platform not only for our online courses but also for our face-to-face courses. It enables the upload of work with easily accessible feedback.
End of an Era - Beginning of a Brighter Space
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about D2L Brightspace is the community of Brightspace Employees and Customers, the partnership has always made me feel like a valued customer and that my opinion and experience matters. This is something we did not have on our previous LMS.
But particular to the LMS, I like how customizable it is. Each menu and course can be customized to create a unique learning experience. I also like how much power I have over the platform as an Admin. Features aren't locked away or hidden from us; everything is easy to find and is constantly being updated and thought about by D2L to make our lives and institution better.

What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much I dislike about the platform. Still, with all the customization abilities, it is easy to make the environment very busy with information that may not be the most important.
I also wish the admin panel would be its' own page rather than a drop-down, there's a plethora of options on that menu and can get confusing trying to find something, especially if you don't know specifically where to look

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
D2L Brightspace has solved one of my most significant issues of having versioned Themes and Language Packs, so I don't have to worry about everything breaking when a brand new version is released every month. Brightspace gives me the confidence that after upgrades, my learning environment will continue to work as normal.
