Features I want are locked behind expensive plan upgrades that contain features I don't need. I would prefer "a la carte" options for some features.

Quickly creating professional instructional videos & the ability to localize to US, UK, Australian & Canadian accents.
Broken Pricing Model!
What do you like best about the product?
I loved how easy it was to get started, and the quality of the videos was great, but that all stopped when I ran out of minutes on their plan just under enterprise.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their pricing plan is 10000% broken! How can you run a consumption based model, but then not offer an option to add additional minutes when you hit a cap. This is beyond broken and totally screwed me up on a project that the video was completely built for in your system, but could not generate because I was short 5 minutes.
OHHHHH! And do not miss the fact that they sell you those minutes and then do not roll them over.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used this to generate the training videos we need to produce to go along with our trainings. It allowed us to avoid the hastle of editing and rerecording constantly.
Game Changer for Instructional Video Creation
What do you like best about the product?
This is honestly one of the best software apps that I have used to date. It's been a game-changer when creating instructional video for our knowledge center. Say goodbye to the old procedure with script writing and storyboards etc. The new plug-in allows for video to be created in minutes. Simply do screen video captures and dictation and Synthsia documents it all. Then you can edit as needed. The old days of video content, then audio, and editing are over (for Synthesia customers). This does it all for you with the click of a button. We are starting to use the new dubbing feature and translate our content into other languages, which has saved us a ton of time and money. I can't imagine any instructional team not using this product. I want to add that the support team has been very quick and helpful, which is great in this day and age when it's hard to get to a person.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only issue I can think of was that the self-purchasing process wasn't very smooth. That was about a year ago, and perhaps ironed out. We also inquired about upgrading from a Creator account to Enterprise and it took way too long to schedule a call with a Sales rep.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's saved our company tons of time and money. The fact that one person can use the software to create a screen capture video with a script, and edit or translate it in minutes is incredible.

Quick and Easy
What do you like best about the product?
The complex structures of editing availability, along with integrated AI and language capabilities, are unseen elsewhere. I use it almost every day!
What do you dislike about the product?
As newer software, it often contains bugs and needs quick fixes to continue using smoothly. However, the Synthesia support team can help solve this very easily.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quick editing of videos with AI avatar spoken word without the need to film real individuals for hours. A simple edit to the script can be made 15 times in under a minute and requires zero additional real life recording.
Great tool for creating quick instructional videos or interactions based on video.

The interface is easy to operate and learn. Very user-friendly and easy to implement. Customer support is very responsive to our business and updates are driven by our input as customers.

As each iteration improves, I find it hard to dislike Synthesia when used correctly. I dislike that it is used sometime in instances where it isn't the best fit for the content.

quickly replicating spoken narrative information for training purposes that can be corrected or updated without reshooting the entire video or video segment.
Lack of Transparency and Arbitrary Decisions – Not Suitable for Professional Use
What do you like best about the product?
We strongly advise businesses in the financial sector to consider alternative providers that prioritize transparency and customer support.
What do you dislike about the product?
I approached Synthesia to create a short video for IGUV, an association for independent asset managers, targeting FINMA-authorized asset managers. Unfortunately, the video was rejected by Synthesia without providing a clear explanation. The only justification we received referred vaguely to Synthesia’s guidelines. Despite carefully reviewing these guidelines, we could not determine what specifically led to the rejection.
We appealed this decision through the online form but received another generic response stating that our content still violated their policies. No detailed explanation was provided, leaving us in the dark about what caused this arbitrary decision. Even with significant effort and imagination, we cannot figure out what content might have been problematic.
This lack of transparency and arbitrary censorship makes it impossible for us to recommend Synthesia. There is no point of contact for resolving such issues, leaving customers helpless and entirely at the mercy of their unexplained decisions. Under these circumstances, we cannot justify working with this AI platform.
For the broader B2B financial sector, Synthesia’s approach and lack of clarity make them an unsuitable choice. Consistency and transparency are critical in our industry, and this experience has demonstrated that Synthesia falls short on both fronts.
Their response to our appeal further confirms this stance:
"Your moderation appeal has been denied. After careful review, we regret to inform you that your appeal was unsuccessful. Upon reevaluation, we determined that the content in question continues to violate our platform’s guidelines and cannot be reinstated."
While they claim to maintain consistent standards, the lack of specificity and accountability is concerning. For any professional organization, especially in regulated industries, Synthesia’s methods are simply not reliable.
