Who needs a film crew when you’ve got Synthesia?

  • August 01, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Synthesia makes it super easy to create videos without needing to film anything. You just write your script, pick an AI avatar, and it turns it into a pretty polished video. It’s especially useful for things like training materials, onboarding, or quick explainers. The avatars look decent, and the voiceovers are clear—way better than most text-to-speech tools I’ve used.
What do you dislike about the product?
The avatars, while good, still have that slightly robotic feel. If you’re trying to add emotion or make it feel really personal, it can come off a little flat. Also, you're kind of limited in terms of layout and customization—it’s not a full video editor, so what you can do visually is somewhat basic.

Pricing could also be a sticking point. It’s fine if you're a business using it regularly, but for freelancers or smaller teams, it might feel a bit expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Synthesia solves a bunch of the annoying stuff that usually comes with making videos. For me, the biggest win is not having to film anything. I don’t have to get on camera, book anyone else, or mess around with lighting and editing. I just write a script, pick an avatar, and it spits out a clean video. Done.

It also saves a ton of time. What used to take days now takes maybe 10–15 minutes. That’s huge when I need to update something quickly or make a bunch of similar videos. Overall, it just takes a lot of the hassle out of video creation. It’s not replacing a full production studio or anything, but for everyday stuff like explainers or training videos, it makes life way easier.

From Presentations to Professional Videos in Minutes

  • August 01, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Synthesia has completely transformed our video creation workflow. Before, creating training videos was a slow, expensive process. Now, I can take content from an existing presentation and turn it into an engaging video almost instantly. The localization feature is truly a superpower—we can now create videos in multiple languages without the painful and costly process of re-recording or hiring translators. The platform is so intuitive and powerful, it's a must-have for anyone who needs to produce high-quality, scalable video content.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the core functionality is top-notch, I did find the main portal's interface to be a bit tricky to navigate at times. It could be more interactive, and I've experienced some frustration with the screen's layout that led to the loss of a few videos during a project. I'm confident that with a few tweaks to the UI, the product will be absolutely perfect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
training content creation is a breeze with Synthesia

"Realistic Avatars, Easy Setup but Needs More Variety"

  • August 01, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that Synthesia allows me to create course content seamlessly with its easy-to-use features. The platform's superior realism in avatars and voices helps me maintain anonymity while ensuring my content feels warm and personable. I value having a basic, straightforward functionality with the added ability to incorporate text and background music, enhancing my content's appeal. Additionally, being able to use Synthesia alongside Audacity makes recording audio, especially for podcasts, much more convenient. Overall, Synthesia is a valuable tool for course content creation, characterized by its ease of use and thoughtful features.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find Synthesia presents a few challenges that affect my workflow. One of the primary difficulties is with pronunciation adjustments. The process of using punctuation to adjust the tone of voice is very much trial and error, and the results can vary day to day. It would be more efficient if there were a guide or cheat sheet to help make these adjustments more consistently. Another limitation I encounter is in the options for audio management during course content creation. The inability to change music in the middle of a session can make it tedious, especially when producing long lessons. The same background music throughout might not complement various parts of a lesson adequately, which can be tiresome for the listener. Additionally, the diversity and customization of avatars could be improved. Competitors offer features like changing clothing and a wider range of avatars. This is important because current avatars may be easily recognizable as AI, which can lead to the content carrying an unintended AI label, turning some users off. Lastly, I find the pricing structure not optimal. The number of minutes offered for the price paid does not seem sufficient, affecting the overall value I perceive from the service. These aspects can make continuing to use Synthesia and justifying its cost challenging, despite its benefits.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Synthesia to maintain anonymity in training through avatars, creating personable and branded content effortlessly. The integration with Audacity allows seamless podcast creation, while adding background music enriches my course material.

My best training development tool

  • July 31, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I am in learning and development and I appreciate how quickly Synthesia helps me create videos. Just in the past 24 hours, I created 5 short training videos vs the days that it would have taken me without it.
What do you dislike about the product?
While I do like the avatar voiceovers, I don't particularly like the avatars themselves--they aren't natural looking and therefore, a bit distracting to watch.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sythesia is the main tool I use to create training videos.
