Helps to generate audio and video using AI avatars

What is most valuable?
Before Synthesia, recording a 20-minute script could take about one to two days. I had to review the recording to find background noise and edit it. If any change was identified, I had to redo the project. However, with Synthesia, I can have a recording within 20 minutes. It would only need minor tweaks. You could tell the difference between AI recording and human recording, but it improved the course of time in which we made the recording. Our Japanese customers didn't believe that it was AI voice.
The tool's most valuable feature is quickly converting text into a usable audio format. It converts quality text to audio with an accent appropriate for regional dialects.
What needs improvement?
The AI avatars are good, but sometimes they have unnatural movements. The lip-syncing needs to be improved.

Perfect tool for creating training videos
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use; if you can use Powerpoint, you can use Synthesia. The technology keeps improving and, because the Synthesia team are very open about their roadmap and upcoming features, you know what's coming soon too.
What do you dislike about the product?
The technology does work better with some languages and accents than others, but it's improving all the time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating training videos is a much quicker task now, as the AI avatars don't need several takes to read the text correctly. I've cut the time to create a training video by at least half.

These materials include pre-call briefs, instructional videos, and an alternative to email communication. Instead of relying solely on email, I produce concise videos that convey messages or updates to colleagues and teams effectively.
How has it helped my organization?
It provides the ability to produce a substantial amount of high-quality content promptly. This results in a significant impact as viewers often cannot distinguish whether it's created by AI or a human. The content tends to generate a lot of comments and engagement because it holds people's curiosity and their attention effectively.
What is most valuable?
It offers several significant advantages over working with human presenters. When creating learning templates with humans, you often face challenges such as multiple takes, script errors, and discomfort in front of the camera. With this solution, you can select avatars, write scripts, and ensure flawless delivery, eliminating these issues. There is no need for post-production as the content is ready to be shared as soon as it's created. It enables to easily modify the content, and the original link will be automatically updated. This is a significant improvement over the traditional approach, where errors or updates necessitate taking down content, re-recording, and reposting. Another remarkable aspect is its user-friendliness. It's so straightforward that I believe most people could use it right out of the gate. Personally, I started using it without any prior research or watching tutorial videos, and it was remarkably intuitive and easy to navigate.
What needs improvement?
One of the issues we face is the variability in accents; there are hundreds to choose from, but some work better than others, and pronunciation can sometimes be subpar. Facial expressions may also not always be entirely accurate. Providing the capability to feature two avatars on-screen simultaneously for interactive communication would be a valuable enhancement. Improved transitions between different segments of the content would also enhance the overall experience.

Previously, we used to create video content ourselves, and we still do on occasion. This manual process came with its share of challenges, including lighting issues, sound problems, and the need for post-production work using Adobe Premiere. We also utilized a tool called XSplit for recording, but it was often overly complex.

It is an incredibly user-friendly and intuitive tool and there are excellent learning resources provided on their site, which I highly recommend exploring. One valuable resource I found was a guide on how to craft a podcast, covering topics like the hook and storytelling techniques. I would recommend starting with the basic subscription, which provides about twenty minutes of usage per month. It's a cost-effective way to familiarize yourself with the product and create content. This allows you to experiment and see the benefits firsthand without committing to the full subscription upfront. The flexibility to cancel the subscription at any time is a significant advantage. If you opt for this solution, I would say that it is essential to have someone imaginative and creative in charge of scriptwriting and content creation. The impact of the content largely depends on the creativity behind it. It's crucial to understand that writing for spoken dialogue is different from writing in a standard written format. Creative content writers can make the dialogue emotionally intelligent, thought-provoking, and empathetic. Overall, I would rate it ten out of ten.
Taking demos to the next level
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to create quality videos with real people in multiple languages and demographics of the avatar was super helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no FAQ's so I have had to chat with help when getting started. The platform interface is also fairly basic looking but it does what I need. I also think if I was able to add my brand colors, and fonts to my profile so it defaults to this when I select a template that would make it much more enterprise-friendly.

A professional video that I can create on my own and in a timely manner.
Faster way of creating video
What do you like best about the product?
Available human models, voices & options. It is the fastest way of making any type of video. Ease of use. Creating any video in a fraction of the time. Integration of PNGs & Jpegs is a great feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am not able to add my brand font which is a Google font. I should also be able to add an alfa video. It should be at leat like Photoshop features.

Major problem-solving for me is the AI human Models. Quick video creations and also i can create my own template.

Easy to use video creation software
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can create a video with voiceovers and that it takes very little effort. It is simple and straightforward to use. Triggers are simple to add and easy to time image entry and exit. Our customer service rep is really helpful and its great to have monthly check ins to make sure we're optimizing our use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that I don't have the option to view all items on the screen and be able to tweak timing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Synthesia allows me to create narrated voiceovers in a lot less time. It is beneficial that I can trim videos and add voiceovers on the same screen.
An easy-to-install tool that is useful for creating instructional designs for training courses
What is our primary use case?
Synthesia's use for me was related to training purposes. With Synthesia, I could create instructional designs for training courses meant for a major corporation, the military, and one of my personal projects.
How has it helped my organization?
My company used Synthesia to help us with compliance training, and it was used to provide feedback during instructional assessments. I have used Synthesia to create introductions for a website on which I was working. I have also used Synthesia for my e-portfolio and to articulate a storyline for an e-challenge project.
What is most valuable?
In Synthesia, the avatars can be an area that can be considered the product's most valuable feature.
What needs improvement?
In Synthesia, there are plenty of areas where improvements are required. The main area of concern in Synthesia stems from its ability to add multiple elements onto a timeline, an area where I feel the product lacks in terms of its intuitiveness and user experience, and I had even complained to the company after it became nonfunctional. Though Synthesia made some changes to get the product working, it still is not as seamless as some other timeline-based non-linear editing software I have used.
I would like to see better use of audio in Synthesia. I think Synthesia's audio component could be drastically improved. There is room for improvement on how the audio part is integrated into a project and how it is manipulated and edited, along with how the volume and placement of the timeline are edited. Once a video is created, that process is kind of convoluted. I think there should be an easier way to determine whether your video is done and, if it needs to be corrected, how to correct it since these areas are not very intuitive. There's not a whole lot of direction available anywhere on how to do things well on the platform.

I used a program that is very similar to Synthesia called D-IB, which was a lot easier to use. Though D-IB didn't have as many features and content as Synthesia, its avatars were a little bit more authentic and looked a little more real.

The product's initial setup was easy, and it wasn't hard at all. It is just that the product's user experience is not user-friendly.

You need to be patient while using the tool. I avoid trying to do any projects that are very complex, especially when the tool's use is in its beginning stages. Maybe in the future, there will be improvements in the tool's GUI and interface. Right now, Synthesia is just for doing easy projects that don't require a lot of complex interaction with the user.
