Excellent protection!
What do you like best about the product?
Provides exceptional protection for HIPAA information that must be sent

so far i have discovered nothing that is disatisfactory about this program

We are no able to ensure that sensitive information is sent securely and safely and is sent to only the intended recepient
Virtru is Great!
What do you like best about the product?
I like the simplicity of Virtru's email encryption the best. Virtru is only a browser extension, so it doesn't take up too much space on your computer. With a click of a button, you can securely send an email.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing. In terms of email encryption, Virtru gets the job done perfectly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've also used Virtru to transfer confidential personnel documents. I've also recently discovered the app, which helps when my computer isn't available
Great product, highly customizable.
What do you like best about the product?
It makes email encryption very easy for our general users. The high customizability allows us on the admin side to be as HIPAA compliant as possible - they even have pre-made packages for those that don't want to get into regular expressions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The worst part about Virtru isn't even their fault. It's always a pain to get general non-technology-focused individuals to use something new. I wish Virtru had a way to make it completely seamless for the user. They pretty much do, but for us, it requires downloading on add-on that isn't feasible for our employee base.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us stay as HIPAA compliant as possible, which is very important in the health sector and our clients in general.

It's a great email encryption system that's highly customizable.

Simple and Easy Secure Emails
What do you like best about the product?
Virtru makes it simple for a healthcare company like us to stay HIPAA compliant when sending information out to external clients, including government entities. HIPAA is awkward when trying to make the entirety of something compliant, but by locking down our tenant to nearly completely internal and using Virtru for any secure emails going external, it makes IT's life easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
In my personal experience, the only down side of Virtru is that the system is completely separate from Google. It does make setup a little longer but definitely not something worth saying no over. If there was a way to make things a little more integrated I think it'd be abosulutely perfect. For the compliance measure though, not a bad trade off.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Virtru, we're able to keep company emails more HIPAA compliant by having a secure method of sending emails to external and internal users. This means we don't have to go through the trouble of setting up some google based authentication system or something similar and make HIPAA compliance for sending information a hassle or a risk.

It is easy to set up and to use. It is also affordable.

I wish there were more filters for when you set encryption to recommended. Our team often gets fatigued.

It has been very helpful for communicating information to people outside our organization who are privy to the information.

Virtru helps to encrypt and protect the email content and attachment (primarily sensitive PHI information) for our company.
Simple to use encryption for a small business
What do you like best about the product?
Virtru is easy to train on our users on, and the recipients don't report many issues accessing the secure email. We use the Gmail plugin for Chrome. Advanced features are also available when needed, but don't get in the way of day to day basic usage.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Chrome plugin gets disconnected sometimes and a few steps have to be taken to re-enable it. Not a big deal because the plugin walks you through the steps to reactivate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Virtru allows us to email information while staying HIPAA compliant, a must for our industry. This makes it easier to transfer information with clients versus setting up dedicated secure channels through FTP, VPN, or other means.

It is always on, so even if you forget to turn it on, it will be on.
What do you dislike about the product?
Keeps getting kicked off GMAIL, so a few times a month you have to refresh your email to get it back

We do not want users to share our customer's personal information without encrypting them
Ease of use on the sending side - some difficulties on the receiving side

The ease of use sending encrypted emails; integrated with Outlook makes this very easy;
What do you dislike about the product?
Numerous people that receive encrypted emails are unable to open them - clearly many of these are due to user error (mostly impatience, not waiting for an email to open); and then constant issues that people receiving encrypted emails cannot forward attachments to coworkers or other people involved.
