We couldn't have completed our SOC 2 compliance without the help of the Laika app and team
What do you like best about the product?
The integration between our dedicated representatives from Laika and the application was seamless. Getting started was easy. We met with our Laika representatives a few times and were on our way to completing playbooks to get everything set up for the audit.
At the end of the day, the attention and detail of our team of helpful Laika representatives really solidified the experience for us and added a personal touch to the very drab work of undergoing an audit. I truly looked forward to the weekly touch base with our Laika team.

What do you dislike about the product?
The transition from preparation to audit was cumbersome. There were a number of pieces of evidence requested in the audit that were not covered in the preparation playbooks. Had these been covered in the playbooks, we would have had all of them done and completed well before the audit started.
That being said, even with the surprises, it was a much simpler process than preparing for the audit on our own and we were still able to complete the audit very quickly.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika enables our lean startup development team to not need to bring in compliance consultants or hire someone specifically for that role. With the help of Laika's app and guidance of their team we were able to prepare for and complete our SOC 2 audit easily without any prior experience.

Laika still does not offer full PCI compliance

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika is streamlining our compliance process. We are facing aggressive timelines to comply with multiple frameworks, and the platform and its experts help us accelerate that process.
SOC 2, ISO 27001 -- Laika is the way to go!
What do you like best about the product?
We used Laika for our SOC 2 type 1, currently in the progress of preparing for SOC 2 type 2, GDPR and ISO 27001 certifications. I especially like Laika for the customer success team always being there for you. We've gone through SOC 2 type 1, which was a blast. We were given organised playbooks, uploaded our evidence, and answered the auditor's questions – all within the Laika platform. I like the streamlined and efficient process and recommend you check Laika out.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform sometimes feels slow to load right after you log in, but updates from Laika are regular, so hopefully, it will be quicker.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika makes audits way more organised and understandable. The flow for getting the audit done is very straightforward. Laika checks your evidence before going through an audit so that you will be prepared.
If we were getting the audit done ourselves, we would be pretty much in the dark starting from the preparation step (How do I even know which documents to prepare without a Compliance department at a company?).

Haven't found any downside so far. All available features work like a charm.

The step-by-step walkthrough is something everyone needs, especially for new frameworks.

Laika's people are the best. Always willing to go the extra mile for us. There when we need them.

I don't have many complaints. Sometimes the dashboards have some glitches, but its software.

The software is really helpful in getting everything ready for SOC compliance, and the team is exceptional in helping you as you get ready.

What do you like best about the product?
My customer support agent and SOC-2 analyst have been very available and helpful, willing to jump on a call any time to help me through the system. I feel they often have to come up with workarounds around the system due to bugs/glitches, weird onboarding flows, or lack of integrations.
What do you dislike about the product?
They recently introduced new document templates which require us (a standard, run-of-the-mill SaaS startup) to fill in tons of content ourselves, which I think defeats the point of the platform. Thankfully my customer success agent is replacing these new ones with the old ones which is going to save me tons of time.
Also, there are a bunch of bugs and glitches, and lack of integration in some areas. For example, if you use AWS Cognito, you're out of luck -- Laika will import your entire customer base as "Integration Users" which means it thinks they're your employees. GitHub MFA settings also aren't supported, which I thought would be one of the first things they would support.

We are now on our 4th year of using Thoropasss to support our cyber security

Nothing is coming to mind at this time. But, overall, I was pleased with the entire product and service.

We leverage the Thoropass platform and services for our SOC2 Type 2 compliance preparation, audit and certification. Additionally we used them for our 2023 Pentest.

What do you like best about the product?
I’ve worked with Thoropass on both our SOC 2 Type 1 and Type 2 audits, and the platform has definitely improved over the past year. The audit module feels more solid now, and overall usability has improved. The interface is smoother and easier to navigate.
One feature I really appreciated this year is the new AI-based review in the audit module. When you upload attachments or write text in response to evidence requests, it analyzes what you've submitted and gives you a heads-up if something looks insufficient. It’s not perfect, but it’s a smart addition that helps catch things early.
Their penetration testing service was also even better this year. The team provided detailed findings and clear, actionable steps, which made it easy to address the issues. Support has consistently been great. Everyone I’ve worked with has been responsive and easy to talk to. Our CSM has also been helpful, not too pushy, and answers questions promptly.

What do you dislike about the product?
Automation is still a bit inconsistent. There are still cases where I need to fetch evidence manually, more than I’d like. One thing that’s frustrating is how the platform auto-uploads old policies as soon as the audit period starts. I’d much rather have a review step or wizard where I can re-upload updated versions before anything gets submitted.
Aside from that, the in-app guidance has improved. I haven’t had to check the documentation at all recently, which is a nice improvement.
