We needed handholding and we got it
What do you like best about the product?
Lots of valuable information and processes that would have taken our small team a tremendous amount of effort to figure out on our on. We already saw value in Thoropass when we signed up but only later realized what a good call we made because there was so much more too it than we expected. Everyone in the company has been helpful and provided us with great service and information. The platform is also easy to navigate and use since the new update.
What do you dislike about the product?
We were part of Thoropass early, and a lot of changes were made to the modules and staff in the beginning. This was a little hard for us to navigate but seems to be in a good spot now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Doing research, writing procedures, following procedures, employee training, documentation and inventory management.
Excellent platform to automate compliance!

I like the ease of use and navigating the platform
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a great tool with an easy to read dashboard. However, I would like the ability to have a less crowded dashboard because that can be overwehlming

It is streamlining our soc2 audit process and makes it easy to monitor and check all tasks missing
Modern approach to help complying with SOC2
What do you like best about the product?
As a reviewer/approver of the SOC2 documents created by my colleagues it was nice to work with thoropass, it organized the documents well and keeps track of what was reviewed. I have also experienced the pentest that was done with Thoropass which surprisingly well executed and found some fair points, while also being realistic with their priority.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform/webui itself is buggy at times, e.g. I have had weekly alerts for a while about uncompleted documents (unfinished) with no way to turn them off, ended up creating a email rule to auto delete them. It got fixed eventually.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easing the process of SOC2 compliance and providing in-house services to do most things such as the penetration testing

What do you like best about the product?
My experience with Ritu was nothing short of a partnership. Our whole team felt we were in good hands with Ritu constant attention and guidance. We would not have gotten through the process without her.
What do you dislike about the product?
I understand Thoropass is bringing Pentest services in house. We didn't like having to work with a third-party for our pentests,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping a central location for all things compliance related has been a life saver. Previously we would work with offline and out of date documents, and now we have cro-organization visibility into all of our process with the ability to better serve our partners.
Easy and well supported SOC2 Audit
What do you like best about the product?
In my role as the CTO of a small company, we started our SOCII Type 1 audit preparation with Thoropass, and the experience was smooth and positive.
Our account manager was very supportive guiding us through the process of adjusting our internal procedures and collecting evidences. It was also easy to submit the evidences through the online portal and to get some quick feedback about them.

What do you dislike about the product?
They are missing an easy way to categorize users and assign training to them based on that category. For instance, the "secure coding" training should be automatically assign to new employees if they are "developers", and ignored by others.

We used Thoropass to prepare for a SOCII audit. We were able to successfully go through our Type 1 audit, and then Type 2

It's an effective way to get SOC 2 compliance. People are knowledgable and flexible.

Too much personel management but i think they just went through a merger so it's understandable.

It was difficult to onboard a new SOC2 provider and seemed a little more lift on our side than should have been

They have been able to assist our customer in getting our SOC2, also the customer service is excellent.

The auditing process can take sometime but it's given due to the nature of this business.

Helpful tool for certification processes
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Thoropass is how it helps us with automation and keeping an eye on our controls. It's really easy to set up and keep track of lots of stuff, which can be really tough without a tool like this. The Customer Success team is also always there to help out and answer questions fast. The alerts and steps for fixing things quickly let me jump in, solve a problem, and move on easily. When we were running the certification process, I could check daily for updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
They don't have a support live chat, we just heard about some useful integrations later in the certification process, the filters in the vendor management are quite limited, and it's sometimes tricky to locate specific files because everything, from screenshots to PDFs to tests to templates, all ends up in the "documents" section.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Obtain a compliance certification, manage our vendors and systems in one place and do pentests.
Solid platform for security compliance with cloud integration and handbooks to make the journey easy
What do you like best about the product?
The step-by-step control handbooks ensure that you have all the controls in place which are necessary for your selected security compliance framework, including SOC 2, ISO 27001, or PCI-DSS. Assistance in obtaining penetration testing, third party auditors and general knowledge of security compliance frameworks is top-notch.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest challenge is turnover with customer support staff who may vary in their specific knowledge of the applicable framework and the tools which can satisfy a specific control. They come up to speed quickly, but the initial transition between support staff can be rocky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Thoropass makes keeping track of our SOC 2 control frameworks easier and reduces the time spent on developing new controls which don't meet the requirements.
