Bulky, unperformant and unflexible solution for fundamental tasks
What do you like best about the product?
For a professional Data Engineer or Analyst using Adverity on a daily basis, it is hard to think of any benefit. For someone unexperienced it may provide benefits in setting up first data pipelines. But even at this task Adverity is extremely limited.
Yet, it makes the start and integration very easy.

What do you dislike about the product?
Adverity openly advertises itself as a tool to handle "big data". The reality is, once you are processing vast amounts of data, it crashes due to missing ressources. Contacting the support will lead to solutions like: "Try to separate your data into smaller pieces and process them stepwise" - This is not how you are supposed to handle data.
Even smaller volume of data will lead to slow processing. Automatic schema recognition is not really working. "Enrichments", which are supposed to be modules to transform your data, are extremely limiting and unreliable. We were even told by the Account Manager, that it is not really serving as a full data transformation tool.
Setting up connections to sources is also extremely tidious. Some offer customization, some do not offer any customization.
Probably the most surprising fact for any data engineer is, that batches are stored as .csv files on their servers. Besides that, this is extremely inefficient as it also makes quick and easy data exploration not possible.
Additionally, agencies of any kind should avoid working with Adverity, for the simple fact that their pricing models are not adjusted to agencies: they massively scale up costs when having multiple accounts in your marketing tools.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It did make data collection easier in some aspects.
Learning curve to the platform
What do you like best about the product?
The abilty to connect all my data in one place. The fact that I can connect everything (even my excel documents) to bring it data helps to streamline my reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find there to be a learning curve to the platform. It takes a while to learn how to get things to flow smoothly and how to filter things though explore so that the correct columns are presented.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping us bring many datastreams together so that all data can be looked at holistically.
Adverity has greatly organized the way we present data and insights to clients
What do you like best about the product?
Reduced time and work it takes to set up a report and import data
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes restricted in the data we can ingest
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
adverity is consolidating the work that it used to take to provide data to clients, as well as providing client direct access to that data, reducing back and forth in communications and versioning of report outputs
A+ for Adverity
What do you like best about the product?
Very versatile, easy to use, and easy to integrate data
What do you dislike about the product?
No downsides. The platform is functional and has a solution to every problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Slicing and dicing the data to make it easy to understand and analyze from a client perspective.
A great platform for visualizing historical results
What do you like best about the product?
The platform is easy to use and suits a range of requirements from the most basic tasks to some of the more complex ones. The platform does this in rapid time and makes sifting through large datasets incredibly easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
A possible improvement would be to have a better overview of data that is being imported such as the number of rows, total disk usage and potential feeds or imports which are not used and can therefore be deleted. With significant amounts of data being imported there is a large amount that does not get used or which gathers dust. A better way to monitor these and be able to identify what can be deleted or decommisioned would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storing aggregated data in a way that this can be monitored over time to identify shifts and changes. The main usage is as a way of monitoring email campaign performance coming out of Salesforce Marketing Cloud. With a bespoke solution currently being used, we are able to track emails in greater detail.
Straightforward functionality, leans towards customization/flexibility, and reliable tech support.
What do you like best about the product?
Reviewer technical level: BI Engineering/Analytics
Company use case: Primarily ETL
Review Date: 2023-09-06
Time using platform: 6+ Months
Foundational functionality:
•Straightforward and solid. Large swath of API connectors to work from. Lot's of thoughtful QoL additions that make managing hundreds of connections at the enterprise level fairly straightforward that were overlooked in other platforms we demo'd. Setting up siloed workspaces was simple, authorizing connections was easy, and the platform does a good job of notifying you when there are any authentication issues (which has been a rare occurrence).
Flexibility/Customization:
•Probably the most standout feature of Adverity we noticed in the demo phase was the inclination for flexibility and customization. You can set data extracts without about any refresh window and cadence you want, up until the point you run into the APIs providers' limits themselves. This makes setup much less tedious. Other platforms we trialed often imposed refresh window and cadence limits, which frustrate the datastream config/testing processes.
•You can get the data transformed in about any way you'd need it through Adverity's "enhancements" tools.
•Data previewing and local exporting is great - makes testing and troubleshooting a breeze.
Support:
•What kind of support you'll get is really the single largest source of apprehension when contracting with a new vendor, and I have no shortage of wonderful things to say about the support we've received from Adverity's team.
•Account Support - Our manager Alex does a phenomenal job at staying engaged with company priorities, steps into the technical conversation to escalate when necessary, and has also provided guidance on how to approach stickier technical issues when it's on the Adverity+API Provider side.
•Technical Support - Where Adverity has really shined. Every single technical question or issue we've brought to Adverity and our frontline support Prez, and there have been quite a few, have been answered and addressed promptly. We feel valued and heard by their engineering team when we need things addressed.
Analytics/Visualizations:
•Cannot speak to these functionalities - we primarily use Adverity as an ETL vendor to ingest data to our internal data warehouse for on-prem analytics and reporting.

What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation:
•There are times that documentation seems lacking for some datas ources or enhancements, or that examples provided are a bit too basic. Adverity has been pretty good about taking feedback on these issues when we provide it though.
Transformations:
•Enhancements, while flexible overhaul, are often not very intuitive, or somewhat cumbersome. It's been the case that we'll have to walk through what we're trying to accomplish with the support team and get their instructions on what to do to accomplish a given transformation. They do tend to just work once set up though.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We considered using our internal Data Engineering team to create and manage connectors to the platforms we use, but ultimately it's proven far more cost-efficient and agile to use a third-party vendor like Adverity to maintain those connections.
Review on Adverity
What do you like best about the product?
- Very good support (quick feedback on questions etc)
- extensive onboarding
- easy to use tool
- a lot connectors
- extensive onboarding
- easy to use tool
- a lot connectors
What do you dislike about the product?
- Don't really have dislikes... Overall a good ETL tool
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy ETL tool where non tech people can integrate data from different sources in our data warehouse
Easy integration and data extraction for all our marketing platforms
What do you like best about the product?
Easy setup of integrations of all our marketing platforms. Speeding up our development and reducing maintainability.
What do you dislike about the product?
Adverity adds another layer between you and the data source. This additional layer can make debugging issues more difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Maintaining the large amount of integrations requered to extract all marketing data
Invaluable service
What do you like best about the product?
Adverity saves us a significant amount of time that would otherwise need to spent on data engineering. This frees us up to focus on what matters and deliver value to clients as quickly as possible.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the terminology can be counterintuitive and takes some getting used to, e.g. data sent from Adverity to a destination is called an 'import' and union operations are called 'concatenate', etc. However, there have been a number of improvements with the latest UI update.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Adverity provides us with a wide range of connectors, allowing us to quickly and easily set up data pipelines. This is especially useful in an agency environment where we have a range of clients with different data sources.
Easy to use with API connections. Great support. Reporting options to be improved.
What do you like best about the product?
Adverity is a great tool to work with certain datasources to combine data, track and improve KPIs and develop reportings, e.g. Social Media or Amazon. The Professional / Managed Service team and general support are very helpful and speedy. I can only advise to work with Adverity directly and not with external partners, who often lack deeper knowledge of the platform and rely on the support themselves.
What do you dislike about the product?
Much has happened in terms of simplifyig enrichments in the platforms but there is still room for improvement, esp. with non-API datasources. What bothers us the most currently are the restricted and limited visualization options. This should be a higher priority instead of adding more and more new connectors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Single platform for all datasources and stakeholders, allows comparisons internationally, reduces manual reporting, monitor & verify performance data for main KPIs
