Jamf Pro has been AMAZING

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to maintain and manage macOS devices. 0-Day support of new macOS versions ensure that we are able to stay up to date with the latest Apple features and protocols.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Jamf Pro would incorporate an in-house onboarding utility instead of relying on tools such as SplashBuddy, DEPNotify, Octory/Ceremony, etc. Also really would like to see the Jamf Pro console beefed up with retry profile push options as well as an easier way to enable/disable policies right from policy list view (tick box with enable/disable buttons) rather than editing each policy individually.Would also like to see an Icon extractor from Jamf Admin (VMware AirWatch Admin Assistant has this functionality). I would also like to see a more robust reporting utility. I have built a custom reporting dashboard based on Jamf API and also looking at MunkiReport with the Jamf integration. These items seem like an easy win for Jamf to implement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to fully manage macOS devices in a more automated and enterprise fashion. We are also getting into the Jamf API more to not only deliver troubleshooting functionality but also reporting functionality to custom dashboards.

JAMF Pro for Higher Education

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The self service options along with the flexibility JAMF Pro give us to create unique policies and config profiles to improve the end user experience with Mac OSX. We have been able to provide software faster than ever before in a manageable way.
What do you dislike about the product?
Generally speaking there is not much to dislike. I think it does what its supposed to do well and i like the fact that it can keep up with the current versions of Mac OSX which is crucial when it comes to TCC .
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Most recently handling the TCC prompts that Mojave and Catalina OS bring to the table. Lots of users are not familiar with this new attempt at protecting OSX and sometimes fail to allow the proper apps to run. Screen sharing permissions with Zoom for example. Users click on deny not knowing they actually need to click accept. We have been able to leverage JAMF to aid us with approving items we know are ok to accept.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want a platform that works, brings value and is flexible with self service options JAMF is the product to choose. Works well with Active Directory or LDAP authentication and you can tie it in with GSX if you are lucky to have an Apple Authorized Self-Service team within your org. My techs are the ones who make things happen and they are all Apple Certified technicians which definitely gives us and edge. JAMF Pro is what they were waiting for.

What do you like best about the product?
DEP/VPP Prestage enrollment and it's ease of setup.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not being able to group App Store apps for mass deployment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meeting HIPAA and InfoSec requirements. Ease of software deployment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you manage a bunch of Apple Devices, get it. It's the easiest way to manage them. If you have an Apple Business Acct. it's even easier with auto-enroll.

Awesome for Enterprise

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the coverage that Jamf brings to the table out of the box, but even more so then what come out of the box I love the customization factor. The ability to use my imagination to meet the needs of the customer is key!
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of multitenancy support.
Lack of built in reporting out of the box.
Lack of a robust hireachy structure. Top level > level 2 > level 3 > etc ...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping customers get to a modern management strategry and methodology for their Apple fleet in a way that is easily managable.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When it comes to an all in one solution for Mac managment Jamf Pro is still the best there is. Other solution claim that they can do macOS management but they are still not quite on par. If you want the basics then go with the other solution, but if you need to perform tasks over and above the canned solutions then go with Jamf hands down.

Jamf Pro for global, all macOS user base, company.

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the easy method for creating policies and the day one support for Apple updates mostly. It's is also very helpful to have multiple levels of permissions across the system.
What do you dislike about the product?
As with any system there are sometimes things that need to be fixed when big updates are made. Some of that is on Apple too . Actually Jamf used to have a harder time making support techs available but they have sincxe fixed that and are very responsive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Staff are positioned globally so beinng able to push out updates is important as well as managing security on scale. Self Service is also VERY helpful to cut down on work orders.

JAMF PRO is the BEST macOS management tool out there

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the simplicity of the platform as well as the easy navigation through things and settings. I love the many options and features you can perform on a device from the easy one as renaming the name to more complex like lock down configuration and access.
I have been using JAMF Pro since 2016 and I dont think there is a better tool out there to manage Apple devices. I have used a different tool before JAMF, it was a constant struggle. I am so glad I was able to get my company to purchase JAMF.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing that I dislike to be honest, but there is a minor annoying little thing that I bet JAMF could perhaps improve on, and that is the go-back action. When you are in a policy or device and press the go-back arrow, it scrools you all the way back to the top instead of keeping you on the section from where the device or policy was selected....it's a bit frustrating sometimes to keep on scrolling constantly up and down.
I would love to see improvement on that soon :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Securing company assests and making sure we meet compliance and restrct access only to certain Apps and feature for authorized users only.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I generally look at the following needs when try pick new tool: Meet the needs and requirements (meaning make sure it can do what we want it to do), Easy to use/understand, Scalable and Cost.

MDM Made Easy!

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf has made it possible for our institution to be able to have a real handle on MDM in our environment. I am the one apple guy in our shop, Jamf has made it possible for those who do not have expierience with Apple products to be able to deploy, manage, and keep up with our devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since moving to our cloud instance of Jamf, I have not seen any downsides. If there was 1 complaint, I would say that it seems my browsers time me out while I'm working in the instance. Not a big deal. Also sometimes logging in with SSO, I get errors so I need to log out of my SSO in my browser, then go back and log into Jamf, but that is probably a problem on Microsoft side.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a way to manage all our devices with limited staff. Once Jamf is set up, you are ready to rock n roll.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to be able to manage your devices fully and easily, look no further than Jamf Pro!

Jamf Pro, Let's Go!

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Ease of use
- Amazing support
- Jamf Nation
What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest, there isn't much that I don't like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Inventory Solutions
- Deployment of Mac OS/iOS and 3rd party app updates
- Custom user profiles by using configuration profiles
- The ability to manage our Macs remotely is extremely beneficial, especially during a pandemic where touching end user devices is not ideal
- Jamf Pro allows us to be flexible and provides us the ability to manage the Mac and iOS devices however we see fit
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take advantage of any training opportunities that you can, it makes life a lot easier.
JAMF support has been great to us. Use them! This service is a very valuable tool!

Jamf Pro is fantastic!

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease and simplicity to deploy policies, profiles and manage our Mac endpoints makes Jamf incredibly valuable to our organization. The time it takes from downloading an app package, uploading it to our distro, creating a policy and then deploying that app to our users is so fast; we could easily do all of that within 15 minutes. Also, the refresh time for configuration profiles is pretty much instant! If an end user calls with an issue we can tweak a setting and have them test again right away. Its just a fantastic product!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was better patch management options available without having to look to a 3rd party. For example, I would like to see the Office365 in there instead of each individual app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Jamf for end to end management of our Mac endpoints. We have found that we can manage what our users have access to natively on the Mac and provide the tools they need for their roles via Self-Service policies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Enjoy the ease of managing your Mac fleet!

iPads are a breeze with jamf|PRO

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf|PRO has a clean look, easy to use and in general just a pleasure to work with. Sometimes developers forget people use their product and don't always think of ease of use. I can train and get new users up and running with little training.
Self-service is a great way to get apps to users.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't always find support to be the most helpful. After using the product for several years, if I have a problem please don't give me "basic support" when I call. I usually end up getting escalated. Couldn't I just default to a higher level initially? Good once you get high enough up but initial is lacking.
We do run into some quirky issues:
If you use sites DON'T EVER select all when importing classes. MAJOR issue.
I would say in general don't select all. You may have searched and have one or two results in front of you, but when you select all it grabs EVERYTHING.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have just over 3500 iPads in our district I can't imagine doing it any other way. I evaluated many of the competitors but always shake my head and say "It just isn't jamf"
