Enabling Apple in Education
What do you like best about the product?
Jamf Pro combined with Apple Classroom has changed iPads from being a distraction in the classroom into an irreplaceable tool for teaching and learning. It is extremely powerful and scalable for large numbers of devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much to dislike about Jamf. New features are being added all the time so by the time we feel like some functionality is missing it is usually available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One problem that would cause a lot of lost time for our team was the activation lock on staff devices. The ability to disable this or clear an existing activation lock on our DEP enrolled devices has sped up our onboarding and exit processes. It allows us to quickly turn around devices to new staff members or students without a long line of communication or a trip to Apple with proof of purchase to get activation lock cleared.
Staff and Students often seem to set and forget their passcodes, especially with the introduction of biometrics to unlock a device. Jamf's clear passcode command is a lifesaver for a school with over 1200 mobile devices deployed.

A revolutionary product for Apple device management
What do you like best about the product?
With Jamf, the possibilities are endless. I can't count the number of times their product has saved me from hours of manual labor. Whether I'm generating reports, deploying applications, running scripts, building complex profiles, you name it - Jamf Pro has streamlined and simplified the process so that I can use my time more effectively and focus on more important tasks. Sure, there are competitors out there, but I have yet to see a management tool as comprehensive as Jamf Pro. Not only have I discovered new ways to improve my company's workflows, but the educational content and training resources provided are invaluable and absolutely essential for any Apple admin.
What do you dislike about the product?
The patch management functionality could be restructured and further integrated with existing solutions. However, other major features, including policies, profiles, automated enrollment, and reporting, are clean and detailed. The recent configuration profile redesign initiative is the perfect example, and I have faith that Jamf can and will do the same for patching. And of course, implementation of some of the top feature requests (a retry button for failed configuration profiles and Self Service icon management, in particular) couldn't hurt!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As I mentioned earlier, automation is the primary benefit. It has led to a significant reduction in manual tasks and improved my ability to provision and manage devices. My job is easier, and my users receive what they need to do their jobs effectively as well.
Jamf Pro fills the gap
What do you like best about the product?
From managing over 200 Macs by myself to running an instance with multiple sites each managing hundreds of Macs, Jamf Pro is the absolute best solution. It integrates well with other tools and the zero day support is a lifesaver.
What do you dislike about the product?
Being able to grant more control to site admins while still keeping them contained and managed within the central instance would be the one thing that would make it more usable for our company.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of inventory has never been easier, and with the enterprise management using DEP with Jamf Connect, we've been able to solve major support issues and meet security compliance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take advantage of the training. It's worth it.
New to Jamf, but loving it so far!
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's accessible anywhere with the cloud-based setup. I also like that support is always available and very patient. Jamf community is by far one of the best communities I've been part of. They're very helpful and offer a lot of information. Jamf has all types of resources the get a new user acclimated.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have any major complaints about Jamf. I only hope to be able to schedule patch management to us. I would like to be able to patch applications after hours without giving up my nights and weekends off the clock.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf really came to my rescue when Apple "killed" their imaging services. At my organization, I felt like I was at the end of my rope without a way to update our Mac devices without having to physically touch them. After extensive Google searches and YouTube videos, I was very pleased with what Jamf had to offer. I like being able to push OS and application updates from my office or on "staycation". I'm excited to really get into it and use Jamf to it's fullest potential to take a heavy burden off of our small staff.
SO much easier to manage our Macs
What do you like best about the product?
It is had to pick on thing, but there's just a simplicity to managing our macs compared to our previous management solution. I love the smart groups and advanced computer searches too.
What do you dislike about the product?
In our environment, we are used to installing applications in a certain order. It is a little more difficult to do that in Jamf. When you add multiple packages to a policy, they are sorted alphabetically by default. YOu can go into packages and change the priority, but we were able to work anourd this with a script and individual policies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With our previous management solution, it was really difficult to do any sort of no-touch provisioning. WIth Jamf, provisioning our Macs is so much easier and we are much closer to a no-touch provisioning.
Jamf is amazing solution for enterprise Mac management
What do you like best about the product?
I am responsible for managing all the devices across our heath system, predominantly Windows OS, so we've always struggled with supporting our small percentage of Macs....until we implemented Jamf. Now supporting Mac devices is actually easier than our Windows PCs!
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found any disadvantages yet, other than it did take some effort to find someone with Jamf experience to hire for my team. (I did find someone who is AWESOME and a Mac expert and just hope I don't lose him EVER)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can report on encryption (FileVault) status to our security team.
The provisioning process allows us to send devices directly to end users without anyone in IT department having to configure it.
The Self-service portal makes it possible to provide software installation and tools.
We can see a real time inventory of our Macs and the OS level and other details.

What do you like best about the product?
The Management Software , JAMF Pro and JAMF connect and option to integrate with Microsoft Azure, and another Cloud service
What do you dislike about the product?
Cost, it's a little bit expensive, New features
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are managing lot of Mac device and enabling user to work from anywhere
Cloud-Based MDM powerful enough to do it all, easy enough to use without issues.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's easy to set up and deploy devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that sometimes it's difficult to figure out why a script didn't work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy management of 250 Macbook Airs, 300+ iPads, and 200ish mac minis and mac pros. Being able to manage my entire inventory from one location is such a relief. Jamf is powerful and customizable easily.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for it. You will not regret switching to Jamf Pro. They are constantly upgrading and improving the product.
Makes managing macs easy
What do you like best about the product?
Enrolling the machines went fairly easy. Out of 120 machines we only had about 5 that encountered issues where we had to unbind and rebind the machine to get it to enroll. It is great for pushing out policies and profiles. We have pushed out applications with a high success rate. We hit 85% success on the deployment of nomad within the first 24 hours of deployment. We were able to enforce certificate requirement on our Anyconnect VPN by setting up a network and certificate profile and deploying it to all macs. I like the smart groups and dashboards that allow me to see the success and failures of deployments and managed machines. We just started using the product but it is so much better than what we were using. I am hoping the patch management and OS upgrades will be easier as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Figuring out how to set the network and certificate profile up so that it had all the settings took a while. I could not find any documents that were helpful that I could understand. I did eventually get someone at Jamf support to help me get it working. The jamf support staff has been 75% of the time very responsive. There was moments that I had to reach back and ask for someone to contact me or push for a meeting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to get a tool to manage the macs in our company. We needed a way to push policies, package and deploy applications, do patch management and a central way to upgrade the macOS. We have already accomplished pushing policies and deploying applications. We are still trying to figure out and setup the patch management piece and the OS upgrades.
Working closely with jamf
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, able to start using very quickly.
Support! They have a world class support team
JamfNation - Here you will find an answer to almost any question
Jamf Cloud - This has significantly reduced the work necessary as a jamf admin, now all we worry about is managing macs, not the server too!

What do you dislike about the product?
Patch management and reporting dashboards are lackluster, but there are 3rd party options free and paid that will assist with this downfall.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
macOS/iOS management at scale, whether it's 10 or 10,000 devices, the amount of work is the same.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be prepared to have a full time jamf admin if you're considering Jamf Pro.
