Jamf makes my job easier and most importantly more fun!

What do you like best about the product?
Automation and Collaboration are some of the best.
What do you dislike about the product?
How long feature requests take to get implemented also how some bugs have just stayed around and never resolved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mass updates, Mass Fixes, Version Control -

Being able to support multiple segments of a business
Having multiple groups with different needs and making all of them happy.

Jamf being on the cutting edge with Apple Technology has always been a plus - they implement or start implementing when Apple does.

This is not an easy feat at all.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are tired of going to every machine and touching them or using Apple Remote Desktop please take a look at JAMF. They have an amazing jumpstart that they provide at the time of setup where they will answer all of your questions. Yes there is a learning curve and I highly recommend the jamfnation board where they have some of the friendliest admins there are.

Product works well, customer service is great

  • August 20, 2020

What do you like best about the product?
The UI is very intuitive and easy to use, documentation is fairly thorough, customer and technical support are quick/helpful/friendly, you can do just about anything you can think that you want to do, and the product works fairly well. We got this to manage mobile devices, but now use it to manage our Macs as well. If only windows device management were as simple. They also have courses and an online community that are very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
There were 2-3 times where I had to DFU the devices to get it to behave. I am not sure if it's a Jamf side issue or a device side, maybe a little of both. Overall, not a big deal considering how well it works overall.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Just had to get another mobile device management platform in place to replace the deprecated one by Dell. We realized this can do more, do it more easily, and it was simpler to use. The ASM/DEP is a major benefit as well as being able to enroll Macs, as previously mentioned.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can try it free, and roll it out for really cheap and it's per-device so scaling is easy, since they pro-rate licenses.

Best MDM Experience

What do you like best about the product?
I find the user interface for Jamf to be very easy to use and intuitive. This makes the process of creating policies very simple. I also really like the ability to put specific policies as a dashboard on my Jamf home screen. This has made it extremely easy to track pushed out polices and see how its going.
What do you dislike about the product?
The set up/updating of the Jamf server can get a little confusing. If this process could be more streamlined I think it would be a great improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to push out required software to all our computers, even with everyone working from home. We can also ensure all our computers have the proper security features enabled.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jamf Pro is the best in the industry and most in line with Apple's values.

Jamf is the go-to Device Management platform for macOS

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf has a very comprehensive set of management capabilities for macOS devices- the ease of package/script deployment makes it a breeze to simplify management tasks and deploy all of the apps we use, and the self-service portal allows our users to quickly and easily add printers and applications to their Macs.
The Jamf community is also very active, which makes it easy to find scripts and other resources to use in your Jamf instance.
What do you dislike about the product?
The two biggest areas that Jamf could improve on are:
Configuration profile editing- the current editor includes a lot of extra payload keys that may change/lock out settings I don't want to manage, requiring me to create and sign my profiles separately
Support for improved cloud provisioning- Support for SCIM would be very useful for those of us who don't have any LDAP, such as Azure AD users
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to streamline our new user onboarding processes using Jamf, automating more application installs and leveraging the Device Enrollment Program support, instead of the previously manual steps we used to do to build out systems

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use, especially coming from a SCCM background
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of basic inventory of non-Apple devices
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Full management, inventory, patching, packaging, deployments, reporting, etc of macOS devices. We get more information from this service than we ever did with AD integration or SCCM/MEM/CM without Jamf.

Best Management System for Apple devices

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We've been using Jamf in our organization for over a year now and I all can say is that I love how easy and intuitive everything is. Support is extraordinary and there are tons of resources where you can find the answers to your questions and Jamf Nation gives you a sense of community, where you can see and get ideas for your own projects, etc.

Jamf is like SCCM for Windows, except that it's much better. I would totally recommend it for anyone looking to manage any apple device.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, everything has been great. I really have no complaints about it. The only issues I've encountered have been with deploying apps that aren't very popular, which can get a little difficult at times, however, that isn't Jamf's fault.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security vulnerabilities, by being able to set a firmware password to all our devices, creating a local admin account, and thanks to Jamf Connect, if you don't have an azure account under our realm, you won't be able to sign in at all.

The deployment of our security base apps, and finally having control over our inventory.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just do it, you won't find anything better out there.

The Best In The Game

What do you like best about the product?
JAMF is the gold standard of mobile device management platforms on the market. A lot of MDM's support various operating systems...but not very well. By focussing on the Apple platform, JAMF has set itself apart as the premier solution for organizations managing fleets of Macs and mobile devices. JAMF is very customizable. Whenever i'm asked by a client whether 'something is possible', 9 times out of 10 the answer is yes. And the answer is JAMF Pro. JAMF makes it really easy to set up individual policies on a department, building or user level. Their customer support is also top notch. I've always had a great experience when reaching out to their support team. They're quick and very responsive.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if JAMF implemented a screensharing feature to support users remotely.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JAMF makes it easy to push company approved apps, security protocols, updates and more. We've saved our clients from spending hours of time setting up new technology. Some of our clients have offices all around the world. JAMF makes it easy for us to ship a Mac anywhere in the world with the peace of mind that once that machine turns on, everything is automated and very easy for the end user to follow along.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do the research. Discuss solutions with JAMF directly. Partner with a consultant to help build and manage the solution for you.
