Can't even remember what a DVD or Memory Stick is...
What do you like best about the product?
Having all our content in the cloud is just amazing. The smart update system that removes content you are not using from your device and only stores it in the cloud is awesome. We have over 7 terabytes of stuff that I have access to with a click of a mouse. I love the way it integrates with finder on my Mac so everything is at my fingertips. I also use the auto-upload function on my phone all the time. I shoot videos on my phone, it automatically uploads to Dropbox, edit it on my iMac - just so seamless. Also, use the collaboration function - We publish books on Innovation and we share layouts and designs on Dropbox for comments and collaboration.
Altogether one of the best business apps out there.

What do you dislike about the product?
If your settings aren't right and you have a bunch of devices you can get into an upload loop where a lot of data and bandwidth can be wasted...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration is key - easy to share and move huge files. Our team is distributed around the globe and we used to have to mail portable hard drives with big files. This is so much easier...
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I suggest you take a bit of time going through the help files to understand how to use the product. The biggest issue we had was staff members that didn't understand how to use the product and they complained until I showed them the correct way to use it. The best way is to not use it in a browser window but use it in your native finder or file system.

Cloud file storage and content creation
What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is easy to understand and intuitive in usage. You can use it on your web browser, mobile phone or download its application for your Windows computer. Uploading files to your Dropbox account can be done by the drag-and-drop method or browsing through your hard disk. Files are uploaded relatively fast, and you can see their progress and the time remaining for the upload. Dropbox uploads per file aren't restricted by size, so each file can be as big as you want them to be as long as they don't cross the maximum storage capacity on your account. You can organize and structure your storage with folders that you can create. Dropbox can be used for transferring files seamlessly as you can link your account to multiple devices. File sharing on Dropbox is very simple, and you can do so by giving them the link from which they can download. While Dropbox is completely free to use, you can upgrade your account for more features and facilities that aren't available from the get-go. You can easily create backups of your Windows so that if there's an issue with your computer, you can retrieve important data any time or restore your Windows to its previous state. The Trash folder in Dropbox allows up to 30 days of deletion recovery and up to 180 days if you upgrade your account. Dropbox is excellent for collaboration as well, as you can connect several applications for conferencing, task management, customer relationship management, data entry, and manage all your most used applications in a convenient way. Dropbox also supports cloud content creation, where you can work on papers and slides with your colleagues at the same time. You can also set timelines and create notes for better communication.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm happy with Dropbox and don't dislike anything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been an avid user of Dropbox for a long time as it has been a viable way of sharing files. It's fast, and I can send my files to my colleagues quicker than any other medium. Dropbox is relatively safe, and it ensures that only the people I want to share my files with can download them. We have created some shared folders through which we can conveniently upload files without needing to make them only available through links manually. This makes all the files in the shared folders available for download to all of the invited users. Aside from storage and sharing, we also use Dropbox for creating content such as papers, reports, and presentation slides. Not only can we write and dit, but also attach images and videos to them. Much like a Word document, we can seamlessly format texts with HTML fonts, colors, and styles. This has been an integral feature in allowing us to create monthly reports, brochures, documentation for webinars, etc. Dropbox's connections with other software allows us to multitask seamlessly in a uniform window, saving us time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dropbox is free to use, and I recommend it to anyone who works remotely.
Best cloud storage software for personal use
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing I find about Dropbox is its file sync feature between phone and laptop. Whenever I upload a file to the Dropbox app of my smartphone, the file gets synced to my computer instantly. The uploading of files to Dropbox is smooth and instant. Another thing I like about Dropbox is that it can be linked with most of the apps as we can add files to the apps directly from Dropbox. Overall I find Dropbox better than other cloud drives.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I dislike about Dropbox is that the unpaid version gives only 2 GB of cloud data, which is too little as compared to other cloud drive softwares. After sharing with others we get 500MB of extra storage, but still, it is not sufficient.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Earlier I lost many old photos and documents stored in my phone while my old phone was damaged. But now, there is no similar issue as I upload all my essential documents and other files to Dropbox.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend dropbox to students and professionals who are facing difficulty in storing their essential files.
The best service to store your digital files and always have them in "your pocket"
What do you like best about the product?
Before subscribing to a paid subscription, I was already a Dropbox user since the early days — I used it to store my university files and I had some extra storage provided by the university. Since then I have used and tested many other providers like Google Drive, OneDrive, Apple iCloud or Box, both personally and professionally and I never found any other that works better and as easily as Dropbox.
It's really easy to set up in mobile devices as well as in desktops/laptops, both Windows and Mac, the plans have reasonable pricing and storage in comparison to competitors and the overall the service is more reliable and well designed than others — for example, almost every image file can be previewed within Dropbox without the need of downloading them, even Raw files or large PSD files from Photoshop, something really important for me given that I'm a designer.

What do you dislike about the product?
For a long period of time, there was a problem with Dropbox on Mac laptops were "ghost files" were occupying large amounts of space. This problem was happening to a large number of customers but Dropbox wasn't really doing anything to solve it nor providing an ETA. This is solved now, at least for me but the thread is still very active in the Dropbox forums, so I'm not sure if this problem is still happening to some customers or not.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Store backups of my digital files (mostly Raw photos and large images)
- Access that from any device connected to the internet
- Easly share files with clients and friends

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just make sure to follow the initial instructions of the setup and decide whether or not you want/need to have the option to "save hard drive space" turned on .
Everything you need for storage
What do you like best about the product?
I like how I can sync files with the cloud directly even if I add them to my local system in a dropbox folder. Also, the fact that I can share specifically the data with third-party vendors as per requirement just with a link . the option to view PDFs and Dxf files directly in dropbox without the need to download them first helps a lot.
What do you dislike about the product?
If using sync with the local system and not just cloud, the local storage is also occupied, and the data gets added on and on, resulting in a space crunch on the local system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Majorly all release data is stored on dropbox. So in case, anyone wants to look into an older version of the file, that is also possible. We use it mainly for storage purposes and secured data sharing with suppliers or vendors.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
No problems faced so far. Does the job it is supposed to.
SMARTER WAY TO BACKUP IMPORTANT FILES
What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is basically one of the most important cloud backup service that I use for my business and my freelancing career. It is reliable and makes it easy to store crucial work files and documents without having to worry about data loss and theft. Although I have multiple external hard drives to store my work files, nothing beats having a cloud service like Dropbox that is trusted and has proven its service reliability over the years. Sharing work files via links to customers and giving file access to co-workers is definitely my favorite feature that I frequently use. As an independent contractor, $9.99 / month for the plus plan is a fair cost of file storage and as the business expands, I would definitely use an upgrade to a much better plan to cater to my demanding business needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Premium features like Document Watermarking, Shared link controls, Account transfer tool, HIPAA compliance are not available for the plus plan which is understandable but "Device approvals" feature should have been included in the plus plan.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Dropbox desktop client keeps starting up in the background when I check my task manager on windows. There should be a setting to stop it from starting upon windows startup without having to kill the task on task manager.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dropbox is suitable for professionals that want a reliable cloud backup service. The plans are cost-effective and promise customer satisfaction. It is used by top freelancing professionals too. You can start with the free plan for test trials too.
The ease of use and compatibility of Dropbox
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of installation and use of the Dropbox software on your laptop, pc, mobile phone or on the web is impressive to the novice or advanced user. I like the ability of being able to pull up a document or pdf when you are away from your desk at home. The compatibility of Dropbox includes the following list, which I enjoy: Windows, Macbook, iPad and Android phones.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Dropbox was free as I am sure you wish this as well; But despite the fact that you have to pay for more space, the pricing is very reasonable and affordable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox has helped me on more than one occasion. I was at a car dealership and needed certain documentation. I was able to pull it up on my mobile phone and email it to the dealer. He was able to print it out and I did not have to go all the way home to look for the document and then drive all the way back to the dealership.
After several scenarios I realized how much time I saved by having files on Dropbox.

I was suspended from my PAID account
What do you like best about the product?
The most unhelpful business I've ever come across.
What do you dislike about the product?
I own a video production company. I was suspended from my account because my clients were sharing their links too many times internally and exceeded the dropbox bandwidth limitations that I was unaware of and is unclear in the agreement I have with Dropbox. Now, none of my clients can access the content that I create for them. I work with substantial non-profit companies that fund cancer research in Boston, and now they are unable to access the content that helps raise money to help fight cancer because Dropbox will not help me. I am trying to pay Dropbox more money to open my account back up, and they said that I'll still be suspended even after I upgrade my account with them. I have never in my life felt like I have been taken more advantage of.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am no longer working with Dropbox. They are creating problems for me now.
